Costco is a national warehouse club that sells groceries, clothing, computers and other electronics, appliances, health and beauty products, home improvement products, and many other items. Products are usually sold in bulk, but often the bulk amounts can be used even by small households. Prices are very competitive. For many years, I have shopped at this particular Costco in Robinson Township. The store always has full stocked, well organized, and clean shelves and racks. The available products are name brands as well as Costco's own store brand. I usually stock up on some groceries (meats, fishes, fruits, vegetables, and drink mixes), household products (dish detergent, laundry detergent, toilet paper, paper towels, and contact solution), pet supplies (treats and dog pads), and gift cards. The cashiers perform their jobs well. I just have to remember to bring my large totes from home, because Costco does not provide bags. read more

I recently joined Costco. I got it as a perk from Citibank. I did do some shopping after I signed up. I find overall if you need larger quantities of stuff Costco is fantastic. I went in and for me most items were just to big. I did get a few items that were great prices. I will defiantly go to Costco again in the future. read more

For the most part, I've had an average experience at Costco, and most of the employees do a good job. However, I've recently had to return spoiled food items twice, which has been frustrating. This morning, I arrived around 9:30 a.m. during Executive Member shopping hours to return one of those spoiled items. The blonde employee at the returns counter immediately told me she couldn't help me because I wasn't an Executive Member and that I would have to come back in an hour. She then completely ignored me and began helping someone else who had just walked in. I understand and respect the purpose of Executive Member early shopping hours, and I have no issue with Costco offering that benefit. What I do have an issue with is the way I was treated. A little kindness and professionalism go a long way. There was no need to be dismissive or abrupt. Considering I was already inconvenienced by having to return spoiled food that Costco sold me, I believe making a simple exception to process a quick return would have been the right thing to do, especially if there wasn't another pressing task. Customer service is about more than following policy. It's also about treating people with courtesy and using good judgment. Do better. read more

Large clean store with friendly staff. The hotdog was pretty good but a little plain even though I added toppings. For 1.50 and a drink u can't complain tho! I wasn't crazy about the mint vanilla ice cream. I love mint but the mint level was not as enjoyable as I wished. The texture was very creamy. The chicken bake was okay. read more

The election and value at the Robinson Twp costco hearing aid center is excellent, but the service is not. They do not answer the phone. A voicemail invites you to leave a message, then, after a lengthy introduction, tells you that the account is full and you cannot leave a message now. When you order a part, they do not call to tell you when it has arrived. You have to call to learn whether it is in. Since you cannot leave a message, this becomes a fool's errand. The department appears to be understaffed and has been for some time. This departnet is a very weak link in what is otherwise a great shopping exerience. read more

I love Costco but not for tires. Unless the tires you want are in stock forget it. Twice I have been told it is better to look online at Costco.com! Both times after waiting in line for a long time Costco told me they don't have access to the online inventory. It was almost like it was another company. I waisted two trips. I bailed and ordered online from the Tire Rack; a way bigger selection and the prices were about the same with free shipping. Got the tires in two days! Bang, done!! read more

Don't get me wrong I love Costco. However, this location allows the AT&T high pressure sales people to be a constant annoyance. Every time I go to the store I get hassled and annoyed by them, it feels like walking into a car lot and is not fun or peaceful. I recently moved here from Southern California and have never experienced the aggressive sales pressure that is allowed at the Robinson Costco. The manager needs to allow customers to shop without the constant hassle and allow members to approach them if Interested or move them away from the main entry aisle. I buy certain things here, the bananas and avocados are amazing. The location is not ideal for me, I prefer the Homestead location. But I can sneak in the back route through Kennedy Township. It doesn't always make sense to me which products they carry, but there are plenty of things I like to buy. Sometimes it doesn't make sense for me to buy in bulk, but it can mean good savings if I do. Overall, an enjoyable shopping experience. read more

Anytime I go to Costco I try to go on a weekday because they are extremely busy on the weekends. The checkout lines were moving at a decent pace, and there are self checkout lanes if you only have a couple items. We walked in to only get ingredients for dinner but I ended up purchasing a new desk for my office. I was not able to take it home with me at the moment, so I scheduled with a worker so I could pick it up later today. They helped me load it into the truck and everything went very smoothly. As of right now, a section of the freezers are closed so many of the frozen and refrigerated products are out of stock. This location is also doing samples again. The Halloween costumes are out as well! All in all, I love Costco! read more

Took my car for two rear tires. Quite happy with price and installation but a wrench I had in the trunk went missing. At no time was the car unattended without being locked. When I picked up the car, it was never in the parking lot. The mechanic brought it right out and I took it from there. When I got home I noticed the wrench was missing. I called and they said they'd ask the mechanic but never called back. I called again and got the manager. I couldn't understand him because of a language problem (not mine). I told him I wasn't making an accusation and that it was probable removed to put the spare back. He got loud and very defensive and was somewhat rude. I know it's going to be "we're not responsible for ...." However, the car was never unattended. read more

If you like to buy in bulk and buy things at wholesale prices then Costco is the place for you. One year basic membership is $60.00 for one person and you can add a family member to your membership for free if that person resides with you. That member will get their own card for use. Since Costco is a member's only store you need to show the attendant your membership card prior to entry. Once inside they have practically everything you can think of. Big box appliances, TVs, gaming sets, pcs, printers, furniture, housewares. The list appears to be endless. As I glanced at some of these things I began to wonder how much was I really saving once I looked at the make and model of the item. I did not come for the purpose of doing that kind of shopping but rather to find some items I get at the grocery store that I use a lot of. Towards the back they have a large baked goods area where you can really buy that large cake, pie, or cookies if you are hosting or attending an event. There's tons of frozen meats, vegetables and more. They even sell clothing in the center section. Towards the rear of the store you can pick up fresh produce in bulk. Their brand name is called Kirkland and they have quite a selection of products. I ended up purchasing two large cases of bottled water, a two pack of Cheerios, and 8 ears of already shucked corn on the cob. My son, who was with me stocked up on tons of food including fresh apples, frozen fruit, and stuff for smoothies for himself and also purchases his dog food here in bulk. I saw that they have their own pharmacy, photo lab, and they do have a hot foods area towards the entrance if you want to grab something. Pretty much your basic run of the mill stuff but at least something to tide you over. My understanding is that they only accept VISA in addition to cash and when you leave then you must show them your receipt for them to mark it off. Their shopping carts are fairly large which would accommodate pretty much most of your basic needs. The parking lot as others have noted is fairly small but we managed to find a space during our visit. Once home I cooked some of the corn and it was very good. Costco offers different membership levels. You need to pick the one right for you and your needs. Obviously Costco isn't for everyone but if you shop in bulk and have the room for it then you are getting a good deal. read more

I line going to this Costco ... seems like they have a bit more in this store than the other one closer to Pittsburgh. Today we went during a Steeler game - so not as many people but also not as many samples ( or what I like to refer to as "lunch"). We went in for a few items that they had in the end that was ending - for what we needed - always stocked well. I took a star away because the restrooms were ... gross!!! Check out was easy and the staff was friendly. All in all will def be back - especially at this time of the year - their pumpkin pie is really good. read more

HORRIBLE PICTURE VERIFICATION: During my last few visits, the staff are verifying the membership card and the picture (both Self-checkout and regular check out lanes). The process seems to be fair - except for the flawed Costco's policy and the rude behavior of the staff. My picture was taken 9 years ago when I take the initial picture and Costco does not have the policy to take a recent picture during the renewals every year. The lady in the checkout counter was very rude and sarcastic and made some personal remarks asking 'Who is the picture?' etc. Obviously the physical appearance of people going to change over the years. Why don't you take a new picture or politely ask for another form of identification. The staff do neither and just make personal remarks as if they follow the prompt like a robot. If this harassments continue to happen, I am switching over to Sam's or BJ's. read more

Please do not go to this Costco if you have to purchase a large item that needs to be loaded into your car. I have never been treated so poorly especially as I am visibly 7.5 months pregnant. I needed to purchase a recliner for the baby's room. I know for a fact they assist customers in getting large items into their car although I had never personally done it before. Between the elderly woman at the checkout (where you show your receipt) and the area where you have large items are loaded I was repeatedly barked at or ignored. The woman at the exit checking receipts was yelling incoherent directions at me about leaving my groceries at the loading area. And the man who was supposed to assist completely ignored me. Once explicitly told to assist in loading my large recliner ( for my baby's nursery) he made me hold the flatbed while he improperly loaded the item into my trunk. He then left me to load the remainder of my grocery items alone. I don't expect this lack of service from Costco and I can't help but think if I looked more like them I would have been treated better. read more

Store was clean and well-stocked. On a Sunday at about 1:30 pm, there were lots of samples (if you're into that kinda thin) spread out all around the store. However, keep in mind that on the weekend, some people seem to literally visit the store for the samples, so the crowding around waiting for their turn, combined with sitting there consuming it, makes navigating most of the food department a bit irritating after a while. Prices are clearly displayed and there are associates in the designated areas to assist you if needed. The parking lot is quite a mess, but that's what you get with this type of store- lots of people everywhere. Cashier was friendly and her assistant unloaded the rest of our items from the shopping cart. There is also a good counter with a some pretty good deals on food items like hot dogs, pizza, and soft drinks. I didn't visit but lots of people were eating at the tables after they finished with their shopping, with their shopping carts close by. Also, don't forget to keep your receipt handy after you check out- they check it at the door and mark it as being inspected. read more

I have been a member for years. I used to love the Robinson location but lately I have had nothing but horrible experiences. The service has really gone down. It seems like the pleasant people that have been there for years are gone and the new people are so rude and every time you ask a question it's an inconvenience which is not the way Costco used to be. I was accosted by a woman in the checkout, telling me at the top of her voice. She needed to see my membership card. I was getting it out of my pocket and she was like come on come on come on. She then looked in my cart and told me I had too many tomatoes in a box. I told her I don't even know what you're saying. She then reached into my cart and took my tomatoes out, I was so angry at the treatment and accusations that I was stealing a tomato, I ended up leaving my groceries behind , what is happening at that location. read more

My boyfriend (20yo) and myself (21yo) have been going to Costco in Robinson township for about 2 years consistently now and I have gone with my grandma since I was a kid. Today we went on our monthly grocery trip for water paper towels and of course grabbed a few extra things along the way. Being young adults we frequently get looks and comments to make sure we aren't stealing. It's something we encounter frequently. But with us both having retail management experience we know it's their job to make sure people aren't shop lifting so we don't ever take it personally. But during our trip today, we were met with aggressive unnecessary comments at the register. We went to self checkout because there were 3 registers open and all of the other registers had lines and my boyfriend worked self checkout so he's pretty speedy. The self checkout cashier came up to us and asked if we wanted to go to a regular register because it would be faster. My boyfriend declined and she insisted again and he told her if she wanted us to go we would and that we didn't mind but she said it was up to us so we continued at self checkout. With a very disgusting tone said to us "you're doing this because it isn't your card aren't you?" He said "no it is my card I'm on my moms account" and showed her the picture of him on the back. She then said "wow! That really does look like you!" Again, in a sarcastic, rude manner. We continued and payed our bill as always, and got our food from the cafeteria, for the last time. After being very obviously disrespected and ignored when we called several times, we will never return to this location that we have spent several thousand dollars at and will be cancelling our membership. If you aren't a young adult I'm sure your experience will be fine, but I personally did not appreciate being disrespected for buying groceries. read more

After checking out today I walked to the exit for the "sharpie person" to draw a line thru my receipt which is just "theater". This is so you can't bring your receipt back into the store and make it appear like you purchased the same items with the same receipt (or similar items). So I had 20 items totaling 178.00. So he goes "carrots, pistachios, bananas" draws line. So OK, do they get trained to do this?? Recite 3 of my items I purchased so everyone around can hear about some of my preferences? Or was this person just fascinated with the colors that these items brought to his mind. Carrots=orange, pistachios=green and bananas=yellow. Bulk buying discounts! The membership is 55 for the Gold and an additional 55 for the Executive (55 + 55 upgrade fees). The perks of the Executive membership is that you get 2% (i think) cash back on all purchases in the mail at the year end and if that amount does not equal to at least 55 (upgrade fees) you can go back to the store to get your upgrade fees refunded. Payment options are cash, check, debit card and American Express. I purchased the membership to try and save some money rather than shopping every week at Walmart (food does not last too long) or Giant Eagle (higher prices) that are in the area. I am told that their quality and options are better than Sam's Club and BJ's. You can go in and get a day pass to look around and compare prices before you decide to get the membership. This Costco has everything from outdoor stuff to clothes, food, bakery, snacking area, electronics, pharmacy, gas station (prices are lower than everywhere else) and vision center.. You name it. If it is not in the store you can probably order it online. So far my purchasing experience was positive. The produce we purchased looked fresh and good quality, organic food options are also available. The parking lot is small and can get busy on weekends, and I would recommend bringing big bags to bag your stuff before loading into the car (they do not bag your stuff), unless you are ok just placing it in your car trunk. Also the isles are not marked so it can seem like a treasure hunt especially if you are not familiar with the place. These reasons make me drop a star, giving Costco a 4 star. read more

Costco is a special place for my family. My dad has always enjoyed going, so I honestly now enjoy going as well. This is my favorite Costco in the Pittsburgh area. They have a good selection and quantity and is pretty well organized. I always enjoy the samples! Can't beat their 4.99 rotisserie chicken. That can always be found in our cart. Their prices really are great! We have bought everything from fruits and vegetables to electronics and furniture. The quality is always great and prices really are too. I love discount wholesalers. Where else can you buy huge amounts of items for a little bit of money? Recently I went to Costco and picked up a 36 count box of Morningstar Farms vegan sausage patties. A 24 count box of Boca burgers, four pounds of Wheaties, 4 half gallons of soy milk, and two Timberland shirts and spent less than 60 bucks. A one year membership is 100 bucks but the savings is phenomenal. Case in point, at Giant Eagle a six count box of vegan sausage patties is 4.99, I got 36 at Costco for 14.99. Same with the burgers. They also had CK jeans for 17.99 a pair, winter coats by Polo for 56 bucks. You can even buy a car and save hundreds or as much as a thousand off the sticker price. Great bakery, giant muffins, cookies, cakes that are huge. Great prices on cheeses, meats and charcuterie. I plan on Xmas shopping here and buying the foods i'll be preparing for Xmas dinner. read more

Costco rocks! I always find great stuff here, and the company is constantly bringing in new items to keep members interested. My only complaint is that they've been out of macadamia nuts for months now! The membership is definitely worth it for what you end up saving. Coupons are mailed to your house, but cashiers usually scan them for you, so you get the discounts even if you forget to bring them with you. Your membership is also good in Canada! read more

Gas: The gas station is typically .05 per gallon cheaper than other gas stations. Very rarely I will find gas cheaper somewhere else but just in general I feel good knowing I am getting a good price when I am there for groceries anyway. Produce: I go through a lot of fruits and vegetables. As long as your waste is low, this is the way to buy your produce. The price is always lower than grocery store prices if you don't mind buying a larger amount. I have never gotten anything that was bad which means they do a good job of checking their stock and rotating things. Vegan: They are constantly adding more and more vegan options which makes me super happy! Just recently they started carrying Earth Balance butter tubs and a couple of different varieties of almond milk. You do have to be careful about what you buy and consider how much you are really going to use but if you shop smart and don't waste produce, this is the best option out there for stocking up! read more

What an amazing warehouse store! Costco literally has everything for all you needs! It is a perfect place to go for organic food products, electronics, clothes, utensils... Costco has it all- and I must say premium quality. Everything you buy is in bulk here (food wise) so if you are a single person like me you have to watch out- bulk perishables are definitely a concern - but not to worry COSTCO has one of the greatest return policies. If you are unsatisfied with a purchase or something becomes wrong with it just simply return it. Membership fee is so worth it because you get access to top notch products for a great price. Fuel is cheaper. Pizza is good too ;p I love Costco, coming here is a pleasant experience everytime. Store is clean and tidy. Best thing about it is that every Costco carries the same products. This place was busy, the ice cream machine in the little cafe is broken, and they didn't have a mechanic at the time so that's why mom and I decided not to order anything from there.Its unacceptable not to have someone not fix a machine right way especially in an area that very busy. The deals were good, but it is unacceptable to charge people for a membership just to be able to shop at a store. This place is really close to Pittsburgh, so it's time to add more cashiers and time to add more mechanics, and even raise their wages to be able to run a business smoothly because theres retailers and restaurants everywhere in Allegheny County. read more
