    a box of energy drink

Stopped.. because we were out and about and I remembered I needed cilantro for the dish I was making for dinner. This grocery store reminds me a lot of whole foods. Prices are higher than average but so fun to browse! I loved the selection of specialty bean coffee!! They had everything but unfortunately both grinders in that aisle were temporarily out of order? I picked up some interesting chocolate energy bites at the check out which were real good. It was fun to visit and browse but too expensive for me to do my every day shopping.

Anywhere where I can purchase wine, and organic groceries I am a huge fan of. Kombucha on tap. Freshly baked bread. Killer deals, kind employees. Similar to whole foods, but yes, I do feel the prices were a bit more fair.

Since my last review, I have come to like this store at least one star more, moving my rating from three to four stars. We attended a first-time event last evening (Food Allergies /Myths & Facts), and it was very informative, plus they gave out lots of free, delicious samples (see photos). There are still some things that bother me here, but there are also things I really like. Overall, I'm a fan of Fresh Thyme .... Cheers!

How did I not know about this place before?? I go to Carnegie and Bridgeville quite often and have passed Fresh Thyme dozens of times but never went in. When I asked for recommendations on where I could get cold-pressed juice, Fresh Thyme was recommended, so I hopped in my car and went. I had a misconception that this place was expensive, but that's not the case. Everything was reasonably-priced and a lot of things were on sale. I ended up getting six different kinds of juices just because they had so much variety! I will definitely be considering this store as part of my weekly grocery trip.

I really wanted to enjoy my experience here but was deeply disappointed in what I saw. I will credit them for a great and helpful staff. The thrust is on organic and healthy which is why they serve Boar's head deli. I have Boar's head before and can attest to the fact that it is very good. Everything is laid out pretty much grocery style. Where they have fresh bread, you can sample some of it and then choose a loaf. A bread slicing machine is there for your convenience. I glanced at some of their fresh vegetables and fruit and really only found some on sale to be at least a bargain for me. I was in search of vegan products and was told that what they had was interspersed among their regular items. Some of the brands I saw as I combed the aisles are the same if not similar to what you would find at Whole Foods. Expect to pay premium prices for meats and cheeses because you are buying organic. I did like how they had everything clearly marked if you are gluten free. It is your traditional higher end grocery store but what I clearly found lacking was a bakery. I was directed to a corner where they had baked goods some of which weren't even marked for what they were let alone the price. I inquired about a bakery. They don't have one set up here. Again an employee pointed out one danish which he would consider vegan but nothing is clearly marked. They don't make cakes here. I also stopped at the juice bar to inquire about healthy juices. The juice bar accepts cards only. When I asked about vegan juices they seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. Still they have a new blend of juices and smoothies to try. This store has great potential but when I cross compare with Whole Foods and the Market District I have a much better selection and the fruits and vegetables are much nicer. One of the reasons why I sometimes go to these higher end stores is because they have a bakeshop where I can order a cake or whatever if the need arises. They have an app with a coupons program on it which I saw throughout the store. There are plenty of buggies and carts as well as aisle space. However, giving this location it is only about a 10-15 minute drive over to South Hills Village area where I could easily shop at Whole Foods or the Market District. I am giving latitude because this is the official opening day and I did manage to make off with some bargains. If however, you are looking for something unique and different here then you probably won't find much in that regard. Located in the Great Southern Shopping Center, they have their own private lot and buggy holders.

UPDATE:corporate DID finally respond and stated some of the harassing people were in fact employees :( they need to do a better job with whom they hire and faster job with firing. Eh, Not sure if the sauce was ever moved to higher levels...i haven't returned. I've given my $400 a week grocery money to Whole Foods :) Eek!! Who knew I'd be so popular!! Seems I've gained some notoriety with this review due to NOT being part of the norm of my kids being exposed to cuss words at a young age....that's ok We all parent differently. Great store. Just avoid the cooler section since the corporate/management doesn't care enough to move the sauce higher so young kids aren't exposed to sauce that has language off of MTV :( ---------- (Update)Apparently some of their potential employees are not happy with my review?See below initial review. ------- (Initial review) *avoid the cooler section (first shelf above the tofu that is on bottom) unless you want your grade school child learning the word "bitchin" from one of the ghetto sauces they have at child level. 1) Not a fan of how the aisles are set up. Narrow. Not good for large crowds. Veggie set up is narrow as well. 2) Organic produce and fruit is minimal. comparable to a regular/small giant eagle (was hoping for a large selection of organic like Whole Foods has) 3) again i must say-Waaaaay to narrow aisles to support the crowd. 4) Deli only serves BOARS HEAD meat which contains sulfates, sulfites, BHT, etc. -so much for "healthy" LOL 5) OH and get excited! my 7&5 yr old boys learned a new word that's not in their repertoire.....so amazing when health food stores place products with cuss words at child level in the cooler section -walking down the aisle i Hear my son say, "BITCHIN SAUCE. Mom that word says bitchin. Mom can i call you bitchin?" Uh no. But you can call this store owner stupid for permitting such items in a familyfriendly store and losing A $400 a week customer. Nope. Won't be returning. ------------- Apparently this store has potential employees who are upset with my review? So upset that they've started to harass with nasty messages on here (from Angela C., Tiffany l., Stacey C., marina N., kristy G., Sarah T., Stephanie K., Joseph B.,) that range from "you're a stupid b*tch and an internet troll for leaving your review on freshthyme."...To...." you're a nightmare for writing this freshthyme review."....to..."keep writing your asinine reviews about our bitchin sauce so i can continue to post to my Fb page and have all of my friends laugh at you and troll you!"...to..."i have found you on Facebook. Ask me how lol. You're batsh*t crazy!!"...to...."i have gone through all of your reviews on here and not only laughed at every one but also tagged my friends to do the same." Yes. Indeed this world is crazy. To have all of these harassing messages and stalking behaviors from those listed above? I'm not sure the person who's being finger pointed at, is quite accurate. I'm also saddened to see the lack of response from both corporate as well as this particular store (both contacted) in this situation of placing this sauce higher. Seems a simple fix. But speaks volumes to me about them as a company. Yowzers. It's just poorly placed sauce. Move it higher. I'm sorry u lost a potential customer(s). Get over it. But please strive to be better than this as people. Contrary to how u might've been raised. Not everyone wins a trophy. Not all companies are perfect. Most companies welcome helpful critiques to advance as a company. This keeps the status quo customers happy AND the new customers content in order to up the populous frequenting the store.

I don't know if prices are low because of grand opening but if they keep price point they got me and Whole Foods lost one.

It's crazy how time flies!…read more My last review for Eden's Market was in 2013. I stopped in here recently on my trip to the area. I was so relieved to see that it still existed. It was perfect for stocking up on some simple healthy grocery basics to tie me over during my brief stay. I got some vegan smoked gouda, some coconut aminos, and some natural spring water. The smoked gouda was perfect for making some quick snacks on my flight home and I took the coconut aminos in my checked luggage to enjoy once we were back in CA. The owner is always eager to help offer advice or help you navigate the store. I was particularly impressed with their growing CBD tea collection. If you're looking for some healthy vegan, paleo, or gluten-free snacks this is your spot. Trust.

(As for a book comparison, Eden's Market puts me in mind of A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf.) Eden's Market offers a bunch of specialty items for gluten-free folks, and they partner with local farmers for meat and other offerings. While I'm not gluten-free, I have a few friends that are, and this find will help me take better care of those friends when I host them. I also loved that I was able to find some sustainably made toothpaste and other household essentials. They carry different toiletries and more as well.
