Shop 'n Save is where I go when I need something specific (i.e. Aldi won't cut it), I don't feel like driving to Target, and I don't have it in me to deal with the dreary lighting in Walmart. It's essentially my "I need this specific thing ASAP" spot to shop, especially since it's open fairly late. Since I'm never here to do a full grocery run, it's admittedly hard for me to judge exactly how "well rounded" Shop 'n Save's options are. I'm very confident in saying that they sell more than the basics, but I'm less confident in declaring where it falls on a scale from "a bit better than the basics" to "an amazing and comprehensive store." I can say from my speed runs that the baked goods section is solid - and by solid I mean it's extremely tempting! They also always at least have basic produce options. I can't comment on the deli and meat sections as I haven't shopped for those items yet. I have, however, grabbed essentials such as toilet paper, bread, eggs, and milk with no trouble. (Granted I haven't popped in and looked for those items right before a snow storm yet!) All in all, Shop 'n Save is a decent shopping option for me, particularly because of their hours and location. I got Chicken from their deli, and was constantly INTEROGATED as to WHY , I was buying 2 pieces than 1, than 4. They then started setting my order aside in this warmer which made the chicken taste soggy, and I noticed I was being treated indifferently. On Sunday, 7/26/2026, a deli worker told the other right in front of me and others that I COULD NOT AFFORD MORE THAN 1 PIECE AND THAT I WAS POOR. I said how rude she was and she tried to say she was sorry after trying to humble me in public. Up front I yelled so loud the whole store heard me and the front end manager would NOT bring the store manager to me. I'm turning them in for discrimination as I shopped there for over 40 years and only for their products their staff is horrible at least most of them. read more

This is the only Shop N Save left in the area unfortunately. I love that it's open way later than Giant eagle. Staff is super friendly and helpful, even during the later part of the night. The store is clean and has a lot of fresh products. It can be difficult to find some things like protein shakes but overall a nice neighborhood store. read more

This is the strangest grocery store I've ever been to. The layout is horrible. There is no room to walk. It's full of senior citizens which makes it feel awkward. The selections are bad. Don't go there if you are looking for healthy, sustainable foods. read more

have never had an issue with this sns in Carnegie until today. The lady manning the self checkout on 5/10/25 at around 12: 30 or so git an attitude with me. There were no codes on any of the produce I bought. Punched in for the green pepper, no problem. Punched in for the vadalia onion and it came up product not recognized. I called her over and right away woth an attitude said there is a code on every produce item. You need to put in the code. I said ma'am there is no code which is why I put it in the way zi did. So, she did it and guess what, it came with not recognized. Then with an attitude told me I didn't need to get an attitude with her. I told her she got one first. Then, she said we'll, if that's what you want to believe go ahead. I don't know her name but she needs some serious customer service training. She was upset because she had to walk 5 steps over to the register. Then another lady forgot to scan something, so with an attitude told the lady, we'll. You're just going to have to do it separately. This employee is very rude. What a horrible experience. read more

If all of our grocery stores in Pgh were like this one there would never be any talk of Wegmans or other stores coming in. It is like Publix in FL and wegmans up north. Awesome produce section. Under the current "stay at home" orders during the pandemic the thrust is on grocery stores and finding meat and essential items such as toilet paper and household disinfectants. Needless to say this Shop n Save had both a wide variety of meats available and a good supply of paper products. Didn't find any cleaning supplies here however that were disinfectants. You must wear a mask while shopping. They do have a vast amount of fruits, vegetables, and greens. They have a nice deli section and their bakery is still taking orders for special events. The aisles are somewhat narrow which makes social distancing problematic and they don't have any "one way" aisles in place yet. Still the people are friendly and help you find what you need. They do have the checkout area marked accordingly and the cashiers stand behind plexiglass. Although they have weekly bargains don't expect to find much else here price-wise. If they have what you are looking for then get it! You are paying more because of the high demand. They are limiting quantities of both meat and other essential items to give as many people as possible an opportunity to get what they need. I was able to get some pork loin as well as my usual staples. I did notice when buying baked potatoes and apples that the size of these individual products are much smaller than normal but you still get whatever pounds you are purchasing. They have a small seafood section and they carry the own brand if you want to save money on a few things. They have their own card which will give you discounts on products as well as "pump perks" to save money on gas at the Sunoco station.They still offer double coupons as well. Cash and cards are accepted. Parking is readily available and all carts are pre sanitized before heading in. You may encounter some difficulty in getting out of this location because it shares the area with a Wal-Mart and Lowes'. Still it's definitely worth a visit to get more of the things you need when you need it. read more

My cashier, the cashier next to her and the cashier who seemed to be monitoring the self check out all had their masks well below their noses and thus not useful. The young man wiping the carts outside and then bringing them inside had no mask on at all. The couple in line next to us had no masks on at all. I don't believe moving to "yellow" changed any requirements on wearing a mask, especially in a grocery store but they seemed to be allowed in anyway?? It's not fun being "mask police" but it's your store so you have to do what's right for customer safety. Back in the store today.. 100% of store personnel had masks on and they were all wearing them correctly. They were cleaning the surfaces and doing a good to help keep everyone safe. I stopped in looking for a fresh bunch of organic cilantro for my fish tacos that I am making for dinner tonight, but the only cilantro was conventionally grown, unless you wanted the small plastic packages that hold a minuscule amount for more money (and they looked pretty yellow, and not fresh). Since they didn't have what I needed, I was looking around to see what else they have, and saw a new door over by the deli area that held a new room with beer and wine sales. I went over to check it out, and I see they have a really great selection of various beers and wines, and the prices were great, they were cheaper than the competitor up the road, Giant Eagle, which I was happy to see. One example would be a 22 oz. bottle of J.K. Skrumpy's "Cuvée Winterruption Farmhouse Hard Cider" was $6 and change, and at G.E. it is closer to $9.99 if I remember correctly, that's a big deal. I also see they have mix-and-match six-packs too. I'll definitely be coming back here next time I am looking for some unique beers, wines, and ciders. read more

A great store to shop at. Shop n Save is one of my personal favorite grocery stores, but that's because I enjoy the quality I have noticed over other places. This is a great location that is always well stocked. I often judge a grocery store by their produce and meat departments and this location seems very fresh. The seafood department on the other hand could use a little help as the smell is overwhelming (remember you shouldn't be able to smell "fresh" seafood). I recommend a visit if you happen to be in the area. read more

It has been a few years since I've last shopped here. Since the last time I've been here, they have apparently made some positive changes. Everything seems more clean and better organized. The produce was fresh, the aisles were clean and well kept. The way the store is layed out, it made it seem less like a sardine! And the prices are a little better then the Giant. The staff was very friendly today, both at the deli and the cashier. The cashier was very patient and even offered my children balloons, which made them very excited and was very nice of her. This might not be the cheapest grocery store in the area but it's one of the best. They do have sales often though that you can take advantage of. This store is always clean and well stocked/maintained. The employees have always been friendly. They still have baggers (which never happens anymore) so it speeds up the checkout process. My son loves it because they always give him a lollipop and balloon every time. Occasionally they even offer to help take my groceries to my car. Great customer service. Also the baked goods,liquor store and fuel perks are a plus. read more

Not bad for a Shop N Save, most are privately owned, so availability of items might differ from place to place. The only time I frequent S n S is when the have their huge two day sales usually held on Thursday and Friday at least once month. Good bakery at this location too. read more

This is my go-to grocery store.... And I find myself going there several times a week. Their sales are wonderful. The produce & meat departments are always stocked and fresh. Their deli is fantastic. They recently added a beer & wine department, which I have to venture into, but from the looks of it, it's great. The bakery is wonderful. The staff is quite friendly. Prices can be a little high if you don't get something on sale, but I think that's just all grocery stores anymore. I really like the sales at Shop N Save. But, be really careful when you use their coupons and check your receipts because they will charge you full price and say you didn't spend enough to get the sale price. 1 star review is solely for the ignorant young blond girl who works in the liquor department and for the complacent manager whom I complained to. This girl has a major attitude and still somehow seems to have a job. She refused to check out my 4 grocery items even though it is their policy to check out groceries with liquor purchases. The manager said he would speak to her but never apologized for how I was treated. There are too many other stores to shop at for this kind of treatment. This girl is always an issue when I have to check out with her. She decides what the policy is and she has a sarcastic, negative attitude. I have also heard her talk negatively about customers when they chose to leave the line because she was too slow - being chatty and not moving the line along. This is not an isolated incident. I am fuming and probably won't return. Nope...wont be back. No wonder no one in my neighborhood shops here. read more

This SnS and the one in Bethel Park are my two favorites. Staff always friendly and the deli staff in both locations are great! In my experience, if teen staff don't know where something is, they ask another staff member. Shopping these two stores is as pleasant as it gets. read more
