My issue was coming here on a Sunday, the aisles were backed up like I-35, it was horrible. I sang out loud to myself, "where is what I'm looking for?" Then an HEB employee helped me, but didn't give me a specific aisle number. I interrupted this other employee from stocking and he stopped let out a huge sigh, and gave me the correct aisle number. Hey, it wasn't my idea to build such a giant mega store having things spread out so wide that you end up lost trying to find ingredients for the week. They should start handing out maps with legend when navigating through this place! Geez louise, if I'm ever in the area, I'd avoid this at all costs!

It's way more "manageable" than bigger H-E-Bs, & while they might not have the obscure organics or artisanal offerings of a Central Market or other H-E-B's, this store is a hidden gem. The shelves are always stocked, the aisles are always clear, & the associates are always happy & quick to help. I pretty much know where everything is, but the few times I've wandered aimlessly looking for something, fellow shoppers -- mostly older & wiser -- have helped me find whatever it is I'm hunting down. I've always preferred small grocery stores to large ones, & I really have a soft spot for this one. Maybe because I grew up in the area, or maybe I just like how leisurely a shopping trip here is; I enjoy my time spent here, & I think it's a nice change of pace from the Walmarts & Targets of the world. A pro-tip: the H-E-B app is a great help for a store as condensed as this one (& any H-E-B in general). It tells you aisle by aisle if they have something you want in stock, so you can save time, gas, & energy if you need something in a pinch.

This store is very hard to navigate because it's so small and a lot is crammed in a small space. There's just enough room for two carts in each isle. This is also laid out a bit different than your normal HEB. The butter, yogurt, etc Is actually down an isle and separate from the dairy section. It was a bit hard to find everything. I imagine this is a very convenient location for college students. The parking lot is also small and I imagine hard to find a spot when it's busy. In typical HEB fashion, the staff was kind. Just know when coming here it's going to be limited on selection and hard to navigate especially on busy days.

I got red and green salsa and it appears that the red salsa is a tad bit creamy, which is not something I've had many times before. It was unique and extremely tasty. As for the green salsa, I have yet to try, but I am sure it won't disappoint. I do want to give this place praise because I have passed it up before, but it is not a place to be looked over. There's so many other goodies in here that you won't find at a regular grocery store so it's definitely worth coming inside and checking out especially if you just want something to do. The people were so nice exceptional customer service. There is seating if you want to eat inside and they were playing good music. I almost forgot to mention how exceptional the sides were. I live the produce here as it is plentiful, and sometimes if you look carefully you can find good prices. I love the deli and soup area - they always have good soups here and some deli items are staples of mine like the Mexican rice - it's solid. The salad with cranberries and almonds and an Asian twist with kale is great. Split pea and ham soup, Five onion soup, and Chicken Tortilla have been great. They make a superb Queso Blanco here. Love their chili rubbed turkey loaf and meat loaf too. Lots of bread selections and butter too. And of course a lot of pies and pastries. Great selection of milk, and the seafood and meat depts always have great offerings. But as I mentioned I used to come here more frequently, but not as much lately as so have noticed some of their prices have just gone haywire. The fresh pressed juices are nearly $10 now. Most of the fruits and produce prices have jumped. The prepped meals - omg - they offer a sale but it's still discounted off a very high price. Like a chicken and rice platter - looks to feed 1,5 people - $5 off on sale but it's still $18, normal cost is $23ish. Some things are packaged very well and look great but - no. I got some Central Market special Italian spaghetti sauce - comes half jar and seems delicious but it was not good. The taste was off. Usually they are good with returns. But when I come here I only get what I need, and what's on sale, and that's it. I noticed Milk had gone up by at least 15% in price. And the price increases seem to happen more frequently nowadays - like a few times a year as opposed to 1-2x. But still a nice social place too.
