I can't believe it's taken me this long to review! Must be the new mama brain... I worked with Gabriella on my gender reveal cake last May and she did a phenomenal job! It was soooo tasty - I had asked her to color all of the inside and I was afraid it would affect the taste and it didn't at all! It was so delicious, everyone loved it :)

Gabriella was awesome to work with! I gave her the theme for my daughter birthday and the colors I would like and trusted that she would make them look amazing and I was not disappointed! Not only did the cookies look beautiful but they also tasted and smelled amazing! I would highly recommend her for any tasty treats you need. She was even accommodating last minute when I asked her if she could deliver the cookies instead of me picking them up like originally planned which I very much appreciated!

It was such a pleasure to work with this bake shop. They were super easy and lovely to work with and even printed out our customized cards to go along with the item. Highly recommend them!!!!

We loved our custom Winnie the Pooh baby shower cookies! Each one was so special. Different colors and designs. Everyone commented on how fricken cute they were. Made by such a talented and sweet gal also even bigger than expected! Also tasty and soft.

Vegan Chocolate Chip cookies!

Just ordered some vegan cookies and of course they are BOMB. Peanut Butter and Chocolate chip are my new favorite cookies. So glad she is local and extremely well priced

I just ordered a cake from Dolce De Luca for my daughters baptism and it exceeded expectations! Not only was it super cute, it tasted amazing, and it was affordable prices! Also - putting in the order was so easy. Gabriella worked with me to create a cake that worked best for the amount of people it would feed and cake decorations/flavors to suit the occasion. I will be coming back for more goodies in the future.

Chocolate chip, sugar, and snickerdoodle (Baker's dozen)

Dolce de Luca Bake Shop definitely deserves the five-star rating that it has now. I had decided to order some Valentine's day cookies for my girlfriend, but I noticed that there are hardly any great cookie shops (if any at all) in the East Bay. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to find Dolce de Luca and make a last-minute purchase of a dozen cookies just in time for the holiday. All I had to do was text Gabriella my order and she sent over an invoice just as quickly. Since she doesn't have a permanent store, she'll meet you anywhere she can at no extra cost. Conveniently, she met me a few minutes away from my apartment in Pleasant Hill. Gabriella is super sweet, super punctual, and makes the best cookies I have ever eaten in my life! I had ordered snickerdoodle, chocolate chip, and sugar cookies (which she beautifully decorated in the cutest heart-shaped fashion). The cookies were amazingly soft and chewy, not too sugary, and of course, delicious! She does a baker's dozen, so she'll throw in another spectacular cookie for free if you order 12. Thank goodness for yelp because I would never have found this absolute gem of a bakeshop. I STRONGLY recommend you all order from her because I would love to see her open up a permanent shop around here.

We ordered a couple mini cupcakes, which are the perfect size for a two bite dessert. We got a chocolate one and another with vanilla frosting and sprinkles. Receiving a texted coupon for 15% off my order, I was excited to use it since I needed a birthday cake. Though there was an online code, I could not use the discount online. I called the shop several times, but there was no answer, and I even left a voice message but never heard a call back. Finally I noticed there was number on the website to text so I did, and got a response. The response was that it was too late to order the cake, and the coupon couldn't be used online ordering system because the online ordering system was different from what was used in the store. BUT I was told I can still call my order in and pay in advance over the phone to get the 15% discount if I still wanted cupcakes, and if the store didn't answer, the person sending the text said he/she would contact the store. I appreciated that kind gesture. The next morning, I settled for cupcakes and decided to call the order in and pick up the cupcakes in the afternoon since I had no time that morning to go to the store. But lo and behold, I called and again no one answered. I texted the same number from the day before and a response came back that they would contact the store to give me a call. I checked in by calling the store two more times and still no answer. And no one called back that afternoon either. Sadly, I had to give up, but was glad to give business to a way more responsive bakery with delicious cakes.

I say it all the time in my reviews. I've had access to a plethora of coffee and matcha industry. And wherever I am on the globe, I always look for these shops during our adventures. Milly & Illian. My gosh. So welcoming. So proud of the shop, its products and their leadership. I hope the owners know. First timer here and I spent $52. Readers: the $52 was completely worth it as soon as we took a bite of the passion fruit mochi. Heaven sent. It's akin to Kailua's Bits & Bites on Oahu. Please don't ever close. Please stay open longer. This is the first time I've tried this after wanting to visit for so many years. I work full time andddd I live in 707 so it's a little bit of a trek out here. Orrrrr consider bringing this to 707- I would recommend Benicia if you are familiar with first street. You'd kill it here! I want to bring it back to my guys Milly and Illian. I'm big big big on energy and customer service and you both broughttttt it. Being 38 when I visit these very trendy IG worthy spots, I'm usually disappointed- if not by the coffee or dessert, most definitely by the customer service. Read all my reviews, it's my first comment usually. To the owners reading this, seriously give a shout out to these lovlies. They started my day on the right foot. Xoxo Can't wait to see what you bring back from Taiwan (see the guys shared where you are- sure to make the matcha and mochi shop even cooler). I'll come back soon! Kathleen

Service was very friendly. They do sell some company merch here. We ordered the jouraku matcha latte with oat milk. We also ordered several of their bakery items including a guava donut, buko pandan donut, mochi banana pudding, and black sesame mochi muffin. I think the donuts are the star here! They are soft and chewy, not too sweet. The flavors are pretty accurate as well for the donuts. The mochi banana pudding was unique, and enjoyable! They did recommend heating up for 1 minute, but you can probably get away with much less time than that. The black sesame mochi muffin was pretty average. The jouraku matcha latte was average; couldn't really taste much of the matcha notes, but it had more matcha flavor than some other cafes. Overall, this was a unique bakery and I would totally come back!

I'm so happy to see an Asian bakery in downtown Pleasant Hill, especially a Korean bakery. And…read moreyesss, we got Paris Baguette! First off, don't let the name fool you because despite its name it's actually a Korean bakery, not a French bakery. They do have a lot of French inspired pastries though, like croissants. I keep seeing people on TikTok eating those cylinder shaped Croissants filled with creamy custard or chocolate cream, so naturally I had to try one when I saw them at the store. I also knew I had to try the Salted Bread since Japanese style salted bread has been super viral all over Asia lately. We ended up getting both, and honestly they were pretty good. Let me start with the Salted Bread, the inside had that signature hollow interior with a slightly crusty exterior, so it felt pretty legit. The salty crust paired really nicely with the buttery flavor of the bread. It was good, but I don't get the hype around it. I know some people are completely obsessed with salted bread, but to me it's basically just really good bread tasting like salted butter. I like it, but it's just not enough to make me obsessed with it. Then we tried the cylinder shaped croissant that was half dipped in chocolate, and that was pretty good too. Obviously room temperature croissants just don't hit the same as warm freshly baked ones, but for room temperature ones, these were pretty solid. I also really liked the interior of the shop. Everything looked super clean, modern, and chic. All the baked goods were displayed really beautifully too. I'd definitely come back again the next time I'm in the vicinity, and next time I'll try some of their other stuff too.

If you know, you know. The pastries here are absolutely worth the detour--and honestly, wherever I see a Paris Baguette, I do pull over. That includes locations I've visited in Northern California, North Brunswick, New Jersey, Atlanta, Georgia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and even the one here in Charlotte down in Pineville. It's a bit of a drive for me, but when I'm in that area, I always make a point to stop in and pick up a couple of their delicious croissant-donut pastries and marzipan or almond croissants. That's the beauty of this bakery--it's a chain, yes, but the consistency is what keeps me coming back. I have yet to be disappointed. Of course, I had to stop at this Hilton Head location--and I didn't come empty-handed. Food connects people, and bringing pastries to your host is always a winning move. I picked up three different varieties of their famous croissant-donut style pastries (similar to the well-known cronut): * Chocolate * Tiramisu * Mango And I added two large almond croissants that were beautifully filled, flaky, and indulgent. Everything looked fresh, full, and irresistible. The setup inside is easy and efficient. It's self-serve: you grab a tray, line it with parchment, use the tongs, and select whatever catches your eye--from baguettes to cakes to coffee drinks. Checkout was quick, Apple Pay was accepted, and the whole experience felt smooth and well organized. The space was clean, friendly, and inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating. Bottom line: Whenever you see a Paris Baguette on your radar, pull over. It's dependable, delicious, and perfect for picking up pastries to share--or to treat yourself. For me, it's one of those rare places that delivers the same quality every single time, no matter the city--and that kind of consistency is something I truly appreciate as a traveler and lifelong foodie.
