The fish and chips
Jim B.

A great Irish pub for a mid afternoon meal on Sunday . My wife, grandson and myself, while enjoying the spinach artichoke appetizer. My wife and grandson ordered the fish and chips, I ordered the shepherds pie. The Shepard pie is so good I rarely order anything else. Sunday the panthers are playing in the big screen. Unfortunately they are not as good as the fish and Shepard pie. Friendly quick service in a short bday. The hot was all served warm and appealing. We always enjoyed Doherty's and will be back again.

Having been a fan of the Cary location for years, this was my first visit to the Apex location and I found it wonderfully low-key and less crowded. I ordered my usual fish and chips, adding a side of coleslaw this time--a fantastic pairing! I highly recommend going for the full order of fish; you won't be disappointed. The Guinness on tap was fantastic, and the customer service was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here!

Fish Potato Leek Soup (Cup) Fish & Chips (Half)

Went for St Patty's Day. To order food for just one person it was apparently over 2 hour wait. Sat outside so I could get faster service there was only one heater working. A gentleman at a at another table ended up getting the heater working, not even the staff offered to help get it to work. The man got it to work probably an hour into dining so it was pretty cold out. Ended up getting the fish and chips which was mainly just a flaky coating on top of the thin slice of fish. It was very greasy. The fries are mediocre At best. The potato leek soup was actually good and so were the greenbeans. The waitress was very nice and considering how busy it was, she did a pretty good job at keeping up with the tables. Don't think I'd go back for anything specific, maybe I should have tried the corned beef or bangers and mash?

The boxtie sampler, not a bad one in the bunch!

This place turned out to be a great late-dining surprise! We had just attended the Lantern Festival in Cary, in that time between Christmas and New Years. We needed somewhere to eat before heading back to Greensboro. Yelp discovered this pub, and the menu looked interesting! It was after 9pm and we were a little concerned at first because we didn't see a host or a waiter for a bit. Thankfully an upbeat waitress did eventually appear, seat us, got us drinks, and the whole thing went swimmingly from there. She really turned things around. We ordered the brisket Poutine and the Boxty sampler as apps. They were both good, I wish we could have had even more of their super flavorful gravy. The brisket was tender, which honestly given that it was the end of the day I found very impressive. The Boxties were awesome, it had been several years since I last had a boxtie of any kind. For dinner, me and my wife split a seasonal sandwich, a turkey bacon avocado thing of a sort. It was real good, but our friends sandwich featuring more of that slow cooked brisket and corned beef was the winner. Can't remember the exact name of it, but it was highlighted on the menu as a house specialty. Overall, very impressed that a skeleton staff at a later time where the crowd was just mostly having drinks delivered a quality meal to us. Honestly, the pictures aren't super flattering, tasted way better than it looked!

My friend has been wanting to try this restaurant. I was down to join her because I love a good fish and chips. Service was prompt as we entered the restaurant. We were seated and given menus to look over. I, of course orders the fish and chips with a side of haricots. The fish and chips were good. The highlight of the meal for me was the haricots. They were tasty and crisp. Definitely a menu item that I would order here again.

Irish Egg Rolls

Hubby and I along with his brother stopped in for a couple beers and appetizers while we waited on our sister-in-law to meet us after work. We were seated immediately and looked over the drink menu. I decided on a Guinness while they both chose Smithwicks. We did a second round and also ordered Buffalo boneless wings and the Irish egg rolls. The beer was great! Guinness is my absolute favorite and they know how to pour a proper pint. The Irish egg rolls were excellent. Crispy on the outside, filled with lots of corned beef, sauerkraut and Swiss cheese. Their thousand island dressing was yummy. The buffalo boneless wings were very good. Classic Buffalo flavor, sauced well, juicy chicken. Amazing blue cheese as well. Our server was attentive and friendly. The ambience felt very classic Irish pub. Great spot for beer and appetizers. We would definitely give them a try for dinner next time!

Wings

Tried this location for the first time from many I follow on Yelp. This place is busy as all and the staff was so nice and friendly. I ordered a six piece order of wings plain as I don't like spicy sauces etc. The wings were good size and cooked well. This came with carrots and celery and a side of blue cheese. I enjoyed my meal and would return.

They blocked off part of the parking lot, had live music going, and the whole place had that fun, lively energy you want on a holiday like this. Because of the crowd, the menu was trimmed down to the more popular items, but it still had plenty of good options. I ended up getting their Irish eggrolls, they're hand‑rolled and stuffed with house‑cured corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese, then sliced and served with their Thousand Island dressing. Basically, it's all the flavors of a Reuben wrapped up in a crispy shell, simple, rich, and exactly the kind of thing that works well at an event like this because its quick and its finger food you can eat while watching the band,. Overall, the atmosphere was great, parking is such a hassle though during these events on the weekend because H-Mart nearby is already so packed. You can park on the other side of the building if you don't mind a brief walk though.

I was greeted, then seated. I was provided a menu and specials...Prime Rib! After my hectic day, yes I will have that! I mentioned gluten free to my server before making decision. Plus seeing the loaded potato had me a bit worried as I cannot ear pork. I opted for salad once server checked to see if Caesar salad dressing is gf sans croutons. I requested salad with dressing on the side and to bring promptly before my dinner. Salad arrived by and server dressed and it was glistening.... I requested one with dressing on the side...server brought maybe I had two bites and dinner arrived! Salad can wait...prime rib cannot, even though I start with tasting potato. Prime rib was requested mid rare and it delivered. Potato was fine. I did not see the au jus nor horseradish sauce on the side. I did ask server while I was ready to pack it up and he said there was some confusion if there was/was not no gluten so not provided. Noteworthy as the salad a manager stopped by about the dressing and mentioned one type of salad dressing is now gf and one vegan. Good to have options. Disappointed to learn the fries are coated with flour then fried as an option with burger skip the bun...what about baked chips or air fry for those with food sensitivities as an alternative? Just a thought for management to consider please. I saved room for dessert and the mousse did not disappoint and was compted .... thank you! Fantastic! As I looked around there was a steady crowd entering along with regular patrons. Overall 4.5 stars for this visit. On a side note, this is a family friendly restauran/pub. Some servers look disheveled between sloppy hair and untidy uniform. For staff with long hair should be pulled back tight and away from food will prevent hair on the food! Uniform is simple black top and pants....should be clean and neat. A few servers looked like they rolled out of bed...if they are feeling ill, please stay home. Servers should make diners and patrons have a positive and pleasant experience and my server was definitely on point with emphasis on customer service and satisfaction....keep it up! Lastly, females please wear a bra or sports bra or a proper garment under uniform as it is family friendly restaurant, thank you!

We had 50+ in attendance and EVERYONE loved the food, drinks, staff and venue. I cannot say enough good things about this venue. Serena worked with me to scheduled everything, choose the foods, and the qtys to serve. Serena was amazing to work with and was able to answer any questions that I had without hesitation. The wait staff was awesome and so very attentive to all of our guest's needs. They served drinks and handled all other requests quickly and they were all so nice. Chris the owner even called me after the event to ask how everything went and to see if there was absolutely anything that they could have done better. The food was AMAZING, and once a tray of food ran out there was a server there immediately to replace it with a new tray. The mushrooms, deviled eggs, meatballs, chicken tenders, wings, sliders, and more were all so good and very flavorful. There were always plates and silverware available for guests, as well as silverware on every table. I can assure you that I can fully testify to all of these things because as the coordinator of this event I always make sure to stay aware of any issues that may arise and where I was seated, I was in view of the buffet tables to make sure that they were continuously stocked. Our employees have used Tribeca Tavern many times in the past for business dinners and everyone always speaks highly of the service and the food. We will certainly continue to use Tribeca Tavern for future events, and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking to host an event, going out to dinner or just looking for somewhere to have a drink.

The hotel property is charming and thoughtfully designed, with a mix of tables, sofas, and comfortable chairs that create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. We arrived 3/4 past noon and chose to sit in the study/library area rather than the main dining room. I would strongly recommend this option. The study is quiet and comfortable, while the main restaurant area was noticeably louder. The proximity allows you to enjoy the ambiance without the noise. The menu offerings felt fairly typical for this style of restaurant. We tried the skillet cornbread. It was served room temperature and on the dry side. However, the whipped butter that accompanied it was excellent. Unfortunately, the cornbread was not warm enough to melt it, which would have improved the experience. The Italian wedding soup was very good and served properly hot. We also ordered the local lettuces salad with chicken. The salad itself was fresh, but the chicken was visibly dry and tasted the same. Interestingly, placing the chicken into the soup made it more enjoyable. The double cheeseburger was average. The bun struggled to hold together under the two patties and cheese. The flavor was acceptable but not memorable. Our server was exceptional. Attentive, professional, and gracious throughout the meal. The service elevated the the mediocre experience. Overall, Peck & Plume offers a beautiful setting and excellent service. For a quieter meal, request the study/library seating. While the food was satisfactory, it did not quite match the charm of the surroundings. Would we go again? Maybe. If we did, we would order different items. But, we would request Brian as the server.

So I then asked if I could place the order and get all flats , she didn't understand what a flat was so I had to explain that, and she eventually told me she'll let the grill know. I get there to get my order and check my food and low and behold , it's drums in it. So then another server comes and I told her the situation and she said I could get a refund or they could remake the 3 flats that were drums . Then got the manager and ended up telling him just to make it fresh which I waited about ten mins for . I get home and I realize , THERES STILL DRUMS . And they gave me the old wings anyways and just 3 fresh flats which I didn't want my old food back there anyways because I figured that would happen but let's just say this: NO OVER THE PHONE ORDERS AND THEY CANT DO ALL FLATS . They need to better train the server. Update dec. 2,2023 So I came here a second time and this time dine in. Did NOT like the experience. They literally ran out of silverware and my steak got cold waiting for one so I didn't even want it anymore and on top of that, the chimichurri was DISGUSTING. They said there was nothing they can do about there being no silverware and they can't just "pull it out their ass" . Didn't even offer plastic .. Took forever for food and drinks. Never got my water. Or napkins. Ended up having to order nachos only cause it was the quickest thing to order without needing the silverware . A different waiter actually helped get those nachos and faster service to me. Don't believe I'll be going back at this point. First review before the update was a year prior to 2023 review.
