My dog Kramer absolutely LOVED coming here! You could tell they genuinely loved him and took care of him here when he came! Whenever I dropped him off he wanted to walk straight to the back to go and play with the other dogs. I was always confident that he would be safe and happy when I dropped him off here. Ok, first off, I have been taking my dog, Jenny, to Dogtopia for over a year, every Dogtopia I have brought her to LOVES her. I brought her to the Temecula one since we would be visiting friends out in the area for a week. The girl at the front desk was ok until I asked her if I could buy two full day passes and break them up into half days ( 5 hours or less) and the girl looked at me like I was crazy, since we were only going to be in town for a week, I only needed 2 full day passes, the girl said " WHY are you only buying 2 day passes??" as if it was an inconvenience to her! Then, my dog went in for her evaluation and I could see on the cameras they provided that she was excited to be back in Dogtopia playing and having a good time. About 10 minutes later another girl came out and the first thing she says is, " Is your dog stressed?! She is snapping and being aggressive towards all of the other dogs in that room!" Im thinking " are you kidding me??" My dog is loved by everyone who has played with her at dogtopia, she had the manager at San Marcos call them and say " You're getting one of my best clients." My dog doesn't have an aggressive bone in her body and we have the past Dogtopia's to back us up. I was so upset with this Dogtopia, we will NEVER go back to that place. read more

I have been bringing my dog to Dogtopia ever since she was a puppy just over six years ago. What I have always liked about the facility is that my dog runs free during the day and is only crated during nap time and the evenings. My experiences have always been positive and I have felt confidence in the staff and the systems they have in place. All of that being said my confidence was rocked to the core when I found out heartbreaking news from my friend that his dog passed away this last week-end after being in the care of Dogtopia for several days. What is even more ironic is that I was dropping my dog off at the very moment he was dropping his dog off last week. Obviously panicked I called to find out more about what might have caused his dogs illness and eventual passing considering my dog was in their care at the exact same time. I was informed they are looking into it but have no answers yet as to what happened. Needless to say I will not be bringing my dog back until I have some solid answers on what happened at the facility. What is even more concerning is that they are still open for business with no answers! Does that mean such an event could occur again at any time to another family?? It won't be mine! We are not talking about a bad meal or less than satisfactory service of some sort, it was a dogs life and a family's heart wrenching nightmare for answers! read more

Love, love, love this place and their staff. After reading the other reviews, I decided to write my own. Although one review is about a DIY washing, it is important to note about the true purpose of the facility - day offering and overnight boarding for dogs. This place is fantastic! The staff is friendly, helpful and go out of their way. The staff are trained and certified to work with the groups of dogs (broken into large and small dogs) as packs and a nature state of play. I take my dog here a minimum of four times/month. I wouldn't trust my dog with anyone else. They have parties, theme days and allow you access to check in on your dog via webcam and on-site. They also offer specials and work with local trainers on promotions to help assist with training. The trainers they work with, I take my dog to. My dog and I LOVE Dogtopia!!! I started taking him there this summer for an occasional daycare day when I had plans to not be home all day. The staff is friendly and the place is really clean. They assess your dog first to make sure he/she is healthy, current on shots, and has good social interaction. Even though we live on 5 acres, our puppy needs the interaction with other dogs. He romps and plays all day and is exhausted in a good way when he gets home. Each time we go to Dogtopia, our dog runs to the door with his tail wagging, excited for his puppy playdates. We just recently boarded him there for a few nights too and he loved it just as much. The dogs get to have free play all day long, take naps from 12-2, and sleep in nights in crates. Soooo much better than standard boarding kennels where they are kept in kennels (cages) all day and night. Toby came home happy and healthy. They do get a bit of a "doggie" smell from all that playing so I always make him a spa appt to get nice and clean before I pick him up. I highly recommend! read more

The employees are friendly and helpful- even when our dog started showing aggression they were willing to work with us and suggested a training company. Brought my dog in to get a bath and let me tell you; it was the best service I've had for a long time. Jelisa, I think her name was, was super friendly and i don't think my dog has ever smelt so clean. It's been a week now and I can still smell the spa treatment. My dog loves this place. He's getting up there in age and doesn't really get excited about anything anymore. But when I take him to dogtopia he goes nuts. My dog, Dixie loves Dogtopia ! She is an intermittent visitor, since we don't need doggie day care on a regular basis, but she is so excited if I tell her she is going to "school" for the day! I first found Dogtopia when I was in temecula on vacation/business and had my puppy with me. I didn't want to leave her in my hotel room or her crate for extended periods so gave them a call. They evaluated her, I was able to get her shot records online from our vet in central California , and she spent a few hours there during my visit. On subsequent visits she also spent time with them, and since moving here a year ago, it's her fave hangout! Everyone is friendly and helpful. They seem to truly care for the animals in their care, and the dogs all love going there. Dixie comes home tired and happy, and sometimes with a good repot card! read more

I had an amazing experience boarding my boxer dog there. She had never before been to a daycare or boarding but everone on staff made her feel welcomed, which was reassuring for me. When it was my dog's first time there, there was a ton of other dogs, but I was extremely comforted in how everyone in there knew my dog's name after the first visit and they were able to point her out on the cameras. My two dogs love spending the day at Dogtopia in Temecula. The facilities are very clean and the staff are fantastic, always friendly and they know my dogs by name. I feel safe leaving my dogs in their care and its really nice that I dont have to make an appointment in advance for daycare. They also offer train and play by Cindy Chaison. Cindy is the best dog trainer I have ever met. She has worked with both my dogs and I recommend her to everyone I know. read more

I just moved to the area from Memphis, TN and had to take Joey to dogtopia. He attended doggie daycare back home and I was worried how he would adjust out here. He LOVES it and so do we! The staff at dogtopia, especially Amber, is amazing and loves each dog as their own. The first day of daycare a card was sent home and pictures that were taken of my puppy throughout the day. I have been very pleased with Dogtopia. The hours are fantastic and the price is well worth it. We have also received "progress" notes regarding Joey and his behavior as well as the friends he has made and plays with. There is a birthday board and a dog of the week with their picture posted in the entry. I love this place and plan to continue taking Joey there for a long time! read more

I don't write too many reviews but after our recent first time "tour", I had to give my feedback. What lead us to consider this place to board our dog for 4 nights were the great reviews. Before going there, we called and asked if we can get a tour of the facility first to see if it suits our needs. The gal on the phone said, "YES, c'mon over and we can give you a tour." Upon arrival, we were barely greeted by the four employees behind the desk. We had to say hello and then asked if we can have a tour. One of the gals got up and volunteered to give us one. She came around the desk and proceeded to say that they don't do tours for security reasons and we can just watch the four tiny screens showing just the dogs' play area. We patiently listened to everything she had to say and then asked again if we can see where our dog would be staying. What does it look like? How big is it? How clean is it back there? We were again told that we can't see the back area. I'm just dumbfounded. Why would you tell me over the phone you do tours when you really don't. And our dog is like our child so it's just odd that we can't see where we would leave our dog for 4 nights. This might be a great place but we will never know because in our years of boarding our animals, we have never been denied to see the actual facility. We left feeling like we just wasted our time driving there. The gal on the phone should have just said this place does not do tours and we can only explain things to you from the front desk. Even upon leaving, no one offered to give us any materials or asked if we had further questions. There were just four employees staring at us as we left the facility. Awkward!!! read more

I'm not in the business of writing bad reviews I completely understand the impact it has but I feel this needs to be said. I left my dog here and I promise I will never do it again. I was told that my dog would be monitored and I should bring her bedding and toys for her crate that she will sleep in at night. When I picked her up after her 6 day stay it was upsetting to say the least. She was filthy! She is a white dog and her fur and skin looked dark and grey and completely dirty! She had marks and scratches all over her and sores on her skin. I am appalled that not one staff member called me to suggest a bath or note her sores that she was getting. I know that she had some of them during her stay as some of them already had scabs! She also had dried blood on her underside that looked like it had stayed on her for days as it stained her fur and skin. Did she start her period? Is this even her blood? All good questions but the biggest is why didn't they notice it and why was I not notified? You think they would like to get the extra sales with a simple call to offer a bath. Why would they though, all of the sealed treats I provided for her stay were returned sealed and unused. On the way home she wouldn't even eat her favorite treat she was so distraught. Not to mention she is acting like a totally different dog. Aside from the lethargy we were expecting to experience due to constantly being blended in with a large number of other animals during her stay, she hardly knew her name when we picked her up and acted like she had no human contact while we were gone. Any time you move to quickly or use gestures around her she cowers as if she was being pushed around by the staff. Also, when I picked her up I was told that she may seem tired as they do not get a lot of sleep because other dogs getting up and walking over them at night?!?!? I thought she had her own space to sleep in at night? This place is like a military boot camp...stress test and sleep deprivation included. I don't feel this place "cares" for your dog at all! They are stacking as many as they can in and herding them when they are there. As you can see from the webcam services they offer. Which, by the way, is a joke over an iPhone! If you want your dog to come back completely changed and nearly feral this is your place! read more

my kosmo loves dogtopia! he had been to another doggy day care before and did not receive what i considered good treatment. both times he went, he came home with bites on his face. although kosmo is a pit-mix, he is not an aggressive dog and is still a puppy. since going to dogtopia, he hasn't had any incidents and leaves happy! socialization is important for his breed and he wasn't discriminated against which pleased me! kosmo is cgc trained and the exposure to other dogs and situations is great for our goal of becoming a therapy dog. i was beginning to think there was no where that i'd feel safe leaving him until a person in his training class recommended dogtopia. i love the webcam and being able to see him interact and play and its so clean in the dog rooms. i love their policy of calling if something happens (this was a complaint with the previous day care.) i feel very secure leaving my boy with the staff and knowing that he's safe and well cared for! read more

First of All, we research all locations before we take our JRT to a daycare program or boarding facility. Nothing but the best for our dog...that is just how it is, period. We had a golf tournament out in Temecula, we researched other nearby Doggie Daycare locatons...and were a little concern with their ratings. When reviewing a rating I look at the dates, and the Yelpers profile. I become concern when I see a high rating from a Yelper with 1-2 yelps on the same day, especially after a poor review. I steered away from those facilities and found DogTogia. I was pleased with the layout of the play area and the pleasant staff. I appreciated my dog being acknowledged when coming into the lobby. Clients want clean and safe areas for their dog. While on the golf course I was able to check the cam cameras to see how our dog was doing. We will be coming back when in the area. First time day campers with DogTopia is $15 dollars. I think people should put the word out for this business when clients find something good. Keep the business clean, attentive staff, cameras, good hours, safe play areas..people will return. The only suggestion is to place a welcoming bench out front to sit on...it would like nice and homey. Clients want their pets to go from one home environment to another...so we don't worry. read more
