Graduation Day!

Hands-down the very best dog trainer out there! He has a gift that he shares with others and is truly "the dog whisperer." He is patient, professional, and kind.

Trooper with a buddy at doggie daycare
Lori M.

We were referred to Mark by a daycare/boarding facility. Our puppy was very anxious and nervous and we wanted to make sure he was ok to be with other dogs in daycare. After working with Mark for only a couple of weeks he was able to make new friends at daycare! We freshened up on his basic commands, have him walking nicely on leash and did some agility moves to help him gain confidence. We're going to join his group sessions now for even more socialization for him. We highly recommended Mark!

Scooby Doo!

We used Mark to train new puppy both in home training and in group classes. He had trained a family member's dog and that dog is very well behaved. We tried some other trainers and made some progress but working with Mark our little Scooby Doo turned into a well trained dog. Mark helped us a lot with Scooby Doo's barking which was driving us a little crazy. The training is positive and easy to use implement. Scooby Doo loves to train with Mark's methods. I would highly recommend him.

Graduation for Rocky!

We are so happy that our family found Mark and Doggie Steps to train our Rocky. We have a one year old puppy that was in need of some training. I was amazed that after just one in home session how much Rocky changed. By the end of our five in home sessions we had a new dog. Thanks a bunch!

Capone and Jack are exhausted after showing the newly learned skills from Doggie Steps.

We found Doggie Steps via Yelp in January, so of course I have to review here in case any of you reading this right now are not sure which trainer or training school to choose for your fuzzy family members. I also research everything to the extreme to make sure we have chosen the best person/company possible, and for the best price. We decided to do the in-house 5 week training because our home, at the time we reached out, was just unmanageable long term. Mark has changed our household for the better since I reached out to ask if he had room to take us on as home-visit clients! He's great and i'm sure his group sessions are just as effective. We have learned so much, and will continue to improve even though our session is completed. He offers all clients that purchase an in-home package to also attend his weekend group classes for additional or refresher training as needed. Background on our situation: About a month and a half ago we got a second Husky. It was always our plan to get a second dog, but I honestly had no idea what I was doing integrating a new adult male dog into a house where we already had an adult male dog. Both dogs got along at first, but pack-order tests were soon an issue for us. On day #2 there was a scary fight in our living room over a bone. I decided that we would really benefit from professional help.......I had no clue what I was doing. I wanted the new pup to feel at home, and I wanted our 1st pup to understand the new dynamic. We saw a change after the very first session with Mark. Of course we did all the home-work during the week, but that was easy and only took a little bit of time out of our days - so well worth it. Mark has helped us to make meal-time an orchestrated breeze, and has helped our daily walk time to be more calm. Our dogs are the best of friends now, and I think they appreciate knowing exactly what is expected of them to get the results they want. We have also alleviated our own stress in trying to control them. Basically Mark trained us! And we have trained the dogs through repetition and positive rewards. Additionally, the dogs loved Mark and were always excited about 'school night' when he arrived. Training them to not excitedly jump on people they know and like at the door is a quality problem that we are still trying to educate them on. In closing, stop your search here and if you need help training your dog(s), contact Mark. I will say he is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. It is worth it. Also consider the experience an investment in your own personal knowledge. The class was as much an education for me as it was for our dogs. Mark has trained us to train the dogs and I can carry that skill with me for the rest of my life. We paid for one 5-week session -- but 4 of us (2 dogs, 2 people) have gained an education. Thank YOU Mark!! :)

Ripple
Judi M.

We adopted Ripple from a rescue and had not had a puppy in our life for 10+ years. We have older calmer boys, so little Ripple was quite the handful and we needed help, that is were Mark came in. We decided to do training in our home and it was great. Training started immediately and it was all hands on, so we knew exactly what to do/practice when Mark was not there. Ripple's response to Marks's calm demeanor and gentle methods led to an improvement in behavior after 1 session and we all continued to improve each week. We continue to improve after graduation because Mark makes sure you have the tools you need to succeed in having a well balanced dog. Get Doggies Steps to get your best friend started on the good foot.

We completed puppy obedience in our home when our dog was 9 weeks old. I was so grateful to find Mark and that he was willing to come to us! It was very valuable to get the training up front, as he went over crate training and potty training as well. He answered all of our questions (which was a lot!) and really set Louie up for a good training foundation. The introduction to agility was a fun addition to the training as well. Mark is really good at the coaching approach. We definitely recommend him!

A colleagusuggested that I try a dog trainer named Bob Solomini that he had used in the past. His passion and confidence in Bob convinced me and even though I was very skeptical and worn out I decided to give it one last try. I am excited to tell you about my invaluable experience and what I learned from it: -my dog was only a small part of the problem, but the majority of the behavioral problems stemmed from me. Dogs aren't born knowing how to behave the way humans would like them to, so we as responsible dog owners need to teach them. -we don't automatically realize what we are doing wrong and unless a true professional who really cares can teach us the correct way we can't be sure that we will ultimately have a happy relationship with our pet. -after four years of pulling my hair out and stressful walks with my dog I wound up moving to a new neighborhood, and my dog was totally out of control when I walked him. When he saw people with dogs, he went crazy and I could not stop him from barking and pulling. In fact, he pulled me down a couple of times where I sprained my ankle and another time where I hurt my knee. In fact, most of my neighbors walked the other way when they saw us and complained about my dog's bad behavior. After the first lesson, I immediately knew that I had found something different. Humane, focused,, professional, and results driven. I am so lucky that I found all American K-9 and especially Bob Solomini. I love walking my dog now, and all of my neighbors have praised the incredible transformation that they see. This was literally a life-changing experience for my dog and for me. I am so thankful that I found somebody that really knows what they're doing and really cares -not only is Bob a great person, but also the Best dog trainer that I have ever met. I highly recommend this trainer and business to anyone who is serious about having a great dog!

Once we found All-American K-9 and Erika, we knew we had hit the jackpot. We handed our sweet (but crazy) Labrador over to her for a 3-week Board & Train, with a little trepidation. After 3 weeks, we were amazed to get back the most well-behaved, calm dog. Not only did Erika train Finn, but she also taught us how to keep up the training. The responsiveness is unparalleled. I always get well-thought-out and specific answers to my questions within a few hours. I also love that this isn't just a one-and-done training. We have lifetime access in case we have questions, which is a relief, since we have someone who knows Finn and can help in the future. The Board & Train might not be affordable for everyone, but it was absolutely worth every penny. I wish we had found Erika months ago.

But once we met John and Shauna, the owners, we quickly realized our fur babies were in the best hands possible. They were not only warm and welcoming but also incredibly professional. If you're a pet owner looking for a true 10-out-of-10 service, this is the company. Our pet sitter, Karen, was nothing short of amazing--so loving, so attentive, and so patient with our very needy black cat, Jax. She didn't just stop by; she stayed, hung out, and genuinely spent time with him. And even though our gray cat, Dolce, didn't come out very much, she was just as incredible in caring for her and making sure she felt safe and comfortable. Wow... just wow! We were floored by her love for animals. THANK YOU SO MUCH for taking such great care of the fur babies we love dearly. I would recommend this company to absolutely anyone. (I thought since the reviews were perfect, they might come thru... but instead... nada!) We were considering giving them a pet sitting job for over a month in length. Backstory: Ironically I believe there's someone named Shauna who operates the website and Yelp(and does a prompt job responding), but John the caretaker is the one who's phone number is associated with the biz, and he is unable to be reached to line up appointments!! (I contacted them a year or two ago when we were considering using them. We didn't end up needing them, but when we tried them last week when we finally did, John did not decide to call us back.) Although the dog has been through several training programs, she had recently reverted back to being reactive on leash: barking, pulling, and lunging at any dog that barked at her or gave her a "look". Thankfully I found Rob's Dogs through a search online. Rob offers dog training either through individual sessions sold as a packet of 8 or 3, or you can elect to do a board and train method. Since my mom's dog had done two board and trains with other training facilities in Florida and Texas, I opted for the individual sessions sold as a packet of 3. Not to disparage the other training schools, I want to note that the dog had learned a great deal of commands, but she was a little rusty and selective when doing them and was selectively reactive on leash around other dogs. What we needed was a trainer that could come to my mom's neighborhood and see the dog being reactive in the environment where she was going to be walked. Thankfully Rob's Dogs offered this as an option. It cost a significant amount to do this, but it was possible. The additional cost was for the mileage and drive time to my mom's place. We had a meet and greet at the facility. Rob, the owner, met with us and got the back story on the dog and the current behavior problems. He took the dog and walked her around a bit and near other dogs, tested her response to commands and leash pressure. He explained the package options available to us. He also made us aware that we would be using both a prong collar and e-collar to reinstate her former training. We had these tools, but my mom hadn't used them with the dog since she left Florida, and I had never used them. We were assigned a trainer who was contracted by Rob. Lauryn was super friendly and had a love and full understanding of the German Shepherd breed. She herself had a German Shepherd. She went over the operation of the two collars which I was not familiar with at all. Rob's dogs sent us a link and password so that we could watch some important training videos. His website also had some very useful training tips. I highly recommend watching/reading this information carefully and then reviewing it again each week. It's easy for owners to slip into bad habits quickly which results in their dogs behaving in ways they don't want. You will have to enforce rules and get into a routine. Restrictions can be lifted once the dog consistently behaves as desired. You will find that YOU will have to do the hard work. The trainer and Rob's Dogs will assess your current situation and give you the tools and training to use those tools to reinforce good behaviors. It won't happen overnight. You will need to work with the dog for at least an hour each day to reinforce the seven commands and expectations. As I mentioned, we only had three sessions. This training was going to determine whether or not my mom could keep and handle her dog. Immediately after the first session, we started using the tools and putting restrictions in place inside the house to set the law of the land. Right away, we noticed a difference. While the dog was already really well behaved in the house, it improved her response to us when we walked her outside of the house. The prong collar made a drastic difference in her behavior when she saw other yappy dogs on the walk. I no longer had to worry about her lunging, pulling or barking incessantly in an aggressive stance. She still got up, moved forward, and barked once, but it was all very controlled. I didn't have to use all of my strength to hold her back. The real test came when my mom was able to walk her dog around other yappy dogs. After session two, my mom was easily able to do this, and I felt confident that continuing this training would allow my mom to keep her dog. Her German Shepherd is sometimes still reactive, but it is much more controlled and manageable now. In time, and with continued consistent practice, I believe my mom's dog will eventually stop the reactivity altogether. She has already shown amazing progress and only slips occasionally. If you are looking for effective dog training (well, really we know it is human training to learn how to effectively communicate with the dog), then consider Rob's Dogs. You will work hard to get your dog's behavior issues resolved, but the longterm results will allow you to have a wonderful relationship with your pet.

I wandered in with my pet guinea pig that I tragically lost a few months ago on my mind and was already feeling emotional. A young gentleman approached me and asked if he could help (which never happens at the Petco in Tucson) and without hesitation he took me to the Guinea pigs. All the experiences I've ever had with the employees at Petco in Tucson, it's like they don't want you to hold the animal unless you plan to buy the animal. It's hard to sell an animal that way. In fact, I've called the corporative Petco to complain about employees really not trying to sell the pets that need homes, on top of selling me a female pig labeled a male with a broken leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That NO EMPLOYEE NOTICED!! The minute I held the 1st one emotions flooded and tears started to come down. He knew I was grieving and needed this, he had so much compassion in his heart that I could feel it. He literally SAT DOWN with me in the middle of the aisle and let me hold each pig, one by one, adamantly telling me to take my time and not to rush, that all was OK, giving me the time to try to find a connection with the right one. He looked to be around my son's age (18?) tall and thin with dark hair and a soft, gentle voice and the best manners.. (You're parents should be proud!) I ended up leaving to process but because of that interaction and the time he gave me to find the right pig I came in not even 30 minutes later and purchased the piggy. He was not there, I looked for him. I wanted to give him a big hug. Employees like him do not exist much anymore. He is not only a valuable employee but a valuable human being. And not just him, the girl with the short hair that I called about the pig before going back in and checked me out was just the sweetest, you can tell she really cares for the animals as well and that is so important to me. I don't know what this Petco is doing different, maybe it is the management, but it is the best experience I've ever had.
