I had an extremely disappointing and unacceptable experience at Dog Haus. I placed a food order using Apple Pay, and on my end the payment immediately showed as pending for $18.26. The cashier claimed the payment was "declined," refused to make the order, and also refused to provide any receipt or proof showing a declined transaction. To make matters worse, my son then attempted to pay using his Apple Wallet, and once again $18.26 showed as pending on his account as well. At that point, this business had pending charges from BOTH of us totaling $36.52, yet still refused to fulfill the order or provide any documentation explaining what supposedly went wrong. The cashier became confrontational and even called 911 because I was understandably upset after being charged twice with no food and no answers. Police responded and advised it was a civil matter and to dispute it with the bank. The problem is the transactions were showing as pending on our end, making the entire situation even more frustrating and concerning. Customers should be very cautious when using Apple Pay or digital wallets at this location. Taking customers' money while refusing service and refusing to provide proof of a declined transaction is completely unacceptable and extremely unprofessional. I will never return to this establishment. The way management chose to handle this situation is bad for business! The transaction is still pending on two different Apple wallet accounts! Regardless of how the business presents itself, I am here to write about the food: 1st visit, My wife and I ordered the same thing, the "Haus Burrito" we were asked if we would like the eggs in the burrito sunny side up (very nice) as I love the. Look of fresh yolk in the burrito, bacon, grilled sweet onions, potatoes and a spicy mayo. The ingredients sound good, but the wait was 25 minutes (we were the only ones who had ordered in the period). First bite was mostly tortilla and egg , the spicy mayo had a subtlety sweet aftertaste, that didn't fit and the eggs were overcooked so no fresh yolk, bacon (which is the main ingredient was scarce). This was consistent with both of our burritos. Most places serve fresh salsa or have a salsa bar that you can use to garnish your burrito. They do not have any salsa, instead they have dipping sauce, which are extra and the portion you get is about a tablespoon in size. Since I wanted something that would offset the sweetness of the spice mayo I settled for the "Haus Buffalo" sauce, I added some to the next bite , it had no spiciness that you would expect from a buffalo sauce and it made it taste sweeter. We both wrapped up the leftovers and called it a day, very disappointing when you consider it was $29.84 for two burritos and a tablespoon of sauce. 2nd visit, Ironically we ended up going there for lunch the very next dayI ordered the Cheeseburger and my wife got the corn dog and we both split an order of fries, my wife's corn dog was partially cooked and the whole corn dog was saturated in the cooking oil (disgusting), the burger (again sweet undertones). If your going after the sweet n savory, there has to be equal parts just like alkaline and acidic one has to offset the other equally. The Cheeseburger is made with Hawaiian sweet bread, there is a special "Haus" sauce, tomato, lettuce and dare I say "sweet pickles". The prevalent taste is the spicy mayo and white cheese sauce (reminiscent of the stuff squirted onto Wendy's fries). Next, the taste of hard and chewy bacon (similar to stale beef jerky bits) plops through. Lastly, the flavor of rubbery egg (comparable to a McDonald's McMuffin) joins. Unfortunately, this burrito's tater tots and caramelized onions are afterthoughts. Regarding ambiance, Dog Hause (Glendora) is clean and comfortable. This business is a food stand in the Public Glendora Market building. Fortunately, this building felt well-maintained and well-ventilated despite the late hours. The interior is well-lit; there's plenty of clean tables; and upbeat music played on its speakers. They have an excellent corndog situation at Dog Haus. The corndog is like county fair caliber - a nice bready corn exterior with a high qual hotdog. The hotdog, might I add, has a nice snappy casing, which isn't needed in a corndog, however much appreciated anyway. If the corndog is already this good - imagine their hotdogs. I'm not sure if it's unique to this location or if it's something they started doing at all locations, but the bun was toasted! I love the toasted bun.
