We have fond memories of Doffo and going back after more than 10 years we wondered if the same friendly atmosphere would still exist: absolutely yes. Heard so much about the Malbec here and wanted to come by! Fun decor with old motorcycles all around. What made our tasting better was Doffo's staff Jake with his cowboy hat explaining each one! We did the red tasting and he also shared olive oil and chimichurri with crackers. I ended up with a bottle of their Zinfandel! With about a dozen other Temecula wineries under my belt to compare this one to, we had our first visit to Doffo. First, the wine was excellent. My tasting was full of delicious, jammy, big bold reds. If that's not your thing they have several other collections to try, but I loved mine. The tasting price, at nearly $40, is pretty steep with nary and extra drop in each pour. Part of my tasting was an olive oil and chimichurri pairing which was a fun and equally delicious surprise. I deducted a star because our tasting room attendant started off great but then something in the air changed and I felt like he was rushing us about halfway through. My partner and I had been having such a pleasant time, quietly chatting at the bar while sipping, and then the attendant just kept butting in and wanting to pour before my glass was empty! There was plenty of time before closing and it wasn't crowded, so I don't know what the deal was. Another employee turned things around for us, I wish I knew her name to say thank you here. We were standing outside feeling a little confused after rapidly paying, wondering what just happened. She checked in and offered to show us the larger tasting room of motorcycles. She spent a few minutes being genuinely kind and interested in us. I did buy a bottle ($78; the wines are not cheap here) and that chimichurri. I'll come back and visit again. If we are rushed a second time, then I'm out. For the price point and the two sips per taste, things should be savored. read more

We went to Doffo for the first time for a winemaker dinner, which was mostly for wine club members (we're not). The first thing that I noticed was that the tasting room smells like an automotive garage, due to the dozens of vintage motorcycles stored there on display. So, it was difficult to discern the volatiles of the wines or to savor the noses. That said, the wines seemed to be very good in terms of flavor, color and legs -- but pricy at discounted rates of $49 per bottle (~25-30% off). Damian the owner was very knowledgable about wine-making, barrel selection, cork selection and vineyard stewardship -- which I much appreciated. The winemaker, Nadia, was very specific about her process. Service was good and the food supplied by an outside caterer (Chef Jillian Fae) was great! If you are a motorcycle enthusiast, you will no doubt enjoy the collection and also hearing Damian's stories of traveling in many countries by motorcycle. My recommendation would be to do your wine tasting outside on the patio when the weather is nice, to avoid the petroleum odors. Nice views, too! read more

Cute little winery with not too much of a crowd! Doffo/motodoffo winery features all of their cool vintage motorcycles/bikes around their property. On a weekday during the summer there was only about 6 other people on site! We got their dessert wine tasting which gives notes of cognac. The 4 wines that we were given all tasted amazing and I do recommend trying it. The only thing is that the price is pretty high up there! After a 15% tip the final cost came to be about $43. Because there were no chair inside we sat out in the mist and waited for the wine to come. But because the workers were busy focusing on another crowd, we had to wait quite a while to get the last two wines. Overall this is a really cute place but because it's a smaller winery, the prices are pretty up there. read more

Doffo is one of the premier wineries in Temecula, that's pretty wildly known. We just want to highlight Erica. Erica was so cool, so helpful and incredibly accommodating. Erica probably didn't have to but we got an extra tour of the motorcycle garage bar area. It's such a cool spot, she shared the lore and it makes us all the more want to visit and wine in that area (it was closed for the day). Erica provided lovely company, expert insights and recommendations. 10/10 would recommend and if you see Erica lean in and talk cause you'll be taken care of. read more

Unfortunately on my second visit and it wasn't pleasant. Started at the restaurant side of it...ordered the chimichurri ribeye fries. The steak was oily, over cooked and poorly seasoned with minimal chimichurri on it. We ordered wine with our meal.....it never came and it never got addressed until we finished our meal and asked for our check. Maybe I'll come back and drink wine.....MAYBE. Long story short, my stomach was pretty unsettled after that so we just left, decided not to drink wine there today. I'll definitely never eat there again. read more

We have been visiting Temecula wineries for many years. In the past we have stopped at Doffo either as part of a festival or on our own. On this trip we were on our own and narrowed our 2 full days of touring to a few wineries. We visited Doffo on Saturday and they were not overly busy. At check in the hostess seated at a comfortable couch with a table outdoors in the shade. After a few minutes one of the employees greeted us and introduced himself as Mr. Doffo. He explained the tasting options and joined us for a discussion on the wines. We enjoyed several wonderful reds and my wife is a big fan of the viognier. The Doffo winery is a hands on family operation and producer of limited high quality wines. Before leaving we joined the wine club and look forward to being a member of the family of wine lovers. On Sunday we returned to enjoy the live music, wine and food available from a food truck. The food truck is a nice addition which had a variety of sandwiches. We also purchased their homemade lemon cookies that were melt in your mouth delicious. read more

We were so excited to try this winery and wow was it a disappointing experience. We got there and they were clearly understaffed, which I'm not docking stars for - in this day and age, it's understandable to have some staffing struggles. But even if you're understaffed, I feel like you can still make people feel welcome during the time you do interact, which was not the case today. It took nearly an hour to get 4 tastes at the bar and the person serving us didn't offer any explanation of the wines we were trying or seem happy at all to be there - I almost left halfway through the tasting because of how stressed I felt just watching the chaos and attitude behind the bar. The reds were good, hence the three stars - the blend was a little flat, but the Malbec was good. The sparkling was sweeter than I'm used to but drinkable. The service and lack of care was hard to get past though. I won't come back or recommend this winery. read more
