Had dinner there Monday night March 2. Ordered the swordfish which was the fish of the day. HORRIBLE, TASTELESS, DRY. Swordfish is normally 1 to 1 1/2 inch thick. Mine was 1/4 inch. Not blacken like I requested. Never got my salad. We always go there at least twice on our trips to Venice. NEVER AGAIN. Go to Pop's, Capt. Eddies, Casey Key fish house, or Sharky's. We started with caesar salad. The lettuce was crisp and the dressing nice. The we had the double lobster sandwiches. They were on good rolls. The quantity of lobster was generous . I didn't feel the lobster had as much punch as I was looking for. It came with a well done slaw.our other choice was yellowtail. This fish has a neutral taste, but had a garlic sauce for flavor. We visited again on March 29th. This visit was awesome. So many dining experiences have been less than perfect lately. We were greeted warmly. Had a delicious cocktail at the bar and then seated with a water view. I love seeing the pelicans. Matt was our server and he was excellent! He answered all of our questions and made us feel special. We had the grouper bites the tuna nachos and the lobster lollipops to start. Everything was perfection. Cocktails were also very good. Simple food bust cooked to perfection. The grouper bites were delicious, as was the grouper sandwich. The scallops and shrimp combo was exceptional and scallops were perfect. This restaurant is a must try when visiting Venice, Florida. It is located on the water on the Marina and has a beautiful view of the water. Terra our waitress was so nice and made great recommendations. We had a dozen Oysters on the half shell and the Peel & Eat Shrimp for appetizers. The oysters were fresh and delicious and the shrimp were big and meaty. For entrees, I had the Lobster Roll Combo with a lobster bisque and a corn salad as a side, and my hubby had the Seafood Linguini with a tomato base sauce selected by our lovely waitress. Everything was so deliciously made and flavorful with freshly made ingredients. The ambiance has a beachy relaxing vibe and the prices were fair. Still one of our favorite places to eat in FL! The food is consistently fresh and tasty. Our servers are friendly and happy to answer questions about the food and drinks. Even though it can get crowded during the winter season, they do have a waitlist that works well. I love to be able to enjoy my dinner while enjoying the amazing sunset. read more

My in-laws have been a few times and always raved about it. We finally joined them tonight and now I get the hype! We started with the crab mango appetizer,so good (and I'm not even a big seafood person). I had the sunset salad with shrimp, perfect portion. The Fire Coral margarita might be the best spicy marg I've ever had. The back patio has such a pretty view and great atmosphere & our baby loved people watching! Last full day of a ten day visit with family in Florida. Stop by this place based on Yelp reviews and being on the water. Seated on the patio with a nice view of the water. The place was crowded for lunch but I guess with a party for 2 we were seated within 5 minutes of placing our name on the waitlist. You can do this online. Jennifer waited attentively on us. Greeted us warmly and explained the specials and took our drink order. We enjoyed some soup and split a couple of tacos. My wife had the lobster bisque and I enjoyed the seafood chowder. Both were creamy and flavorful packed with lobster and in my case seafood. The tacos were lightly blackened grouper with lettuce pico de gallo and remoulade sauce. The tacos were prepared with plenty of grouper. The Spanish beans and rice were delicious and creamy as well. read more

5 stars for a nice dog friendly restaurant in Venice! We wanted to take our pup to the dog beach nearby so we're so glad the patio at Dockside Waterfront Grill is dog friendly. They offer a wait-list through Yelp so I added our name before we arrived since it had a bit of a wait. It was super easy and we were given a table right away when we got there. They offered my pup water right away, which was so appreciated since it was such a hot day. We wanted to eat a little light so we ordered the grouper sandwich blackened with fries for $23. And also got a cup of the chowder for $8. The chowder wasn't anything amazing but it was a little thing to go along with the sandwich. We enjoyed the grouper sandwich, it had a decent amount of fish and fries. Service was good, our food came out quickly and we left feeling satisfied. The view is really pretty with the dock too. Saw all of the good reviews and we had to try it. The view was beautiful and the ambiance cute but really the rest was OKAY at best. Our server Kylie was nice but so LOUD and inattentive . They have a gluten free menu which was good for me, but it features items that are fried in a shared fryer. Our food took a long time, and the manager told us they were comping our meal. Turned out, they didn't comp the meal, which wasn't a big deal but it was a strange and disorganized experience. I had the least fresh fish I've ever eaten, and my sister had fried shrimp and said it wasn't good. Drive up the road and head to pops instead for food. Always a treat to visit the Dockside Waterfront Grill. We used to come here when it was still known as Marker 4 but ownership changed several years ago and it's even better now. If your fortunate enough to get a waterside table, you'll be able to watch boats come and go from the adjacent marina. In the evening, they have underwater lights that highlight the fish swimming by the large windows. Food is delicious and the service has always been great. read more

The menu was lots of diverse seafood options and all can be prepared as grilled, blackened or fried. I chose fried shrimp and grilled scallops. Both were well prepared. The shrimp were large as were the scallops. All enteees come with soup or salad and two sides. If you arrive Hungary, you will leave fully satisfied. I was just at Dockside this past week with visiting family--a favorite spot they love to eat. We all had tasty delicious meals as usual. I live in Venice full time & Dockside is definitely a favorite. Whether I'm meeting local friends for lunch or taking out of town guests, Dockside does not disappoint. The tiki hut atmosphere & boat marina adds to the ambiance, & the food is always wonderful. There can be long waits during season, but we still go there knowing that--it's worth the wait. read more
