What a great little secret. My family and I went Easter Weekend. We should have went when they first opened. It's for sure a popular place and the later in the day the less choices you have. Whenever I tried to get Dochi's mochi donuts, it is either closed or sold out but luckily this time, I got there earlier and it was filled with so many options! Not too sweet, easily shareable, and so chewy. I love it! Parking at Dochi is pretty limited; I had to parallel park. While we were waiting for our food at a different restaurant, my friends and I decided to walk around and check out some other shops and noticed that Dochi was open. We pretty much were able to get one flavor of their selection! I absolutely loved their churro flavor - definitely my favorite one. The prices are reasonable and they decorated the Dochi so adorably. I've been meaning to try this mochi donut and finally I got my hands (and tummy ) on them. Flavors and dough consistency are good and I wish there were more other flavors available when we visited the shop. Price! I find the price a little too much. Don't get me wrong I loved and enjoyed the donuts but for $13 for half a dozen and $25 for a dozen, that's beyond my price range for a snack (again this is only my opinion). (8/20/2022) Ordered and prepaid for a dozen assorted online for pickup on the same day. Order was prepared at the expected time, I was not. I did pickup 2 hours late, but they still had a dozen for me. Dochi are best consumed immediately, even a few hours and they get a little stale, but deliciously crispy and chewy when fresh. Not too sweet (the ultimate Asian dessert compliment). Great food experience. read more

I love Dochi Donuts! I go here every time I'm in town (which is like once or twice a year). This location is located in Viet town along Colonial. What makes dochi great is a combination of the texture and the flavors. I really like the chewiness of the donuts. Flavor wise, there's an assortment to choose from. What I normally do is check their instagram to see what the flavors of the week are and I make my selection from there (although half the time I'll usually, just end up ordering two each haha). My favorite flavor so far have been the taro based ones. I also tend to like all the flavors that don't have cereal on them for some odd reason. Me and my boyfriend were excited to try mochi donuts in FL, since we've only had them in California and Washington. However, we were kind of disappointed. The cashier we had was very curt and made the service feel rushed. We would've forgiven that if the donuts tasted as good as they were hyped up to be -- but they weren't as soft OR chewy like a mochi donut should be. Not sure if we got an old batch or what... and I only liked one of the flavors out of all they had (glazed ube.) Maybe for others who haven't had this style of donut before, it would be good, but we knew what to expect and it didn't deliver. The unique flavor options were cool, but that's about it. Also, there should really be small boxes for orders less than 6... especially considering you can't sit down to eat. I've been to the new Colonial location a couple times now, and sadly the quality just doesn't seem to measure up to what I remember from East End Market. The first time the donuts were overcooked, like they'd been in the fryer too long. I thought it might have just been an off day so I gave them another try today. While the donut was better, it still tasted kind of oily and didn't have the light and chewy texture that I remember. It's hard to explain but the overall mouthfeel was just different. I always felt the Dochi donut boxes were an unnecessary expense (and terrible for the environment), and I'm not a fan of the cellophane packaging either. On the first visit the donuts were still warm and the glaze hadn't hardened yet, so we ended up with glaze all over the bag instead of the donuts. Honestly I don't know what the right solution is, but I'd prefer something practical instead of sacrificing function for form. Wow! These are so unique! The donuts look like 8 little munchkins attached in a round, donut shape. The donut is very dense and cake-like. I tried mochi donuts (gluten-free) in Oakland, CA and was very excited to see there's a shop that makes them in Orlando. These are pretty good and low-sweet level which I like. They add sweetness and flavor with the toppings. Except for Ube flavor, the inside of the donut is plain, even chocolate which was not very chocolate-y. Considering they sell out every day, I guess they don't feel pressure to expand the repertoire of flavored batter. Would really love to see lemon batter with lemon glaze to get flavor through the whole donut.
