A bright spot at Universal Studios with an oversized doughnut from Homer favorite place. The donut was about $10 and worth every penny. Perfectly cooked great taste and topped accordingly. While being a captive at Universal Studios I found this donut to be quite refreshing and in the grand scheme of things $10 isn't bad for anything in this park!
A little kiosk located within Universal Studios Florida. The food is your typical theme park donuts with a few variety such as sprinkles that are supposed to be like the lard lad Donuts from The Simpsons as well as chocolate donuts and regular vanilla donuts. The whole get up about this location is that you are buying it while you are immersed within Springfield which is where the Simpsons live. The donuts are very generic however they do offer a large land size which runs you the cost of roughly $10 and can easily feed you and a couple friends for a quick snack while you're at the parks. These aren't your typical flavored donuts, they have more of a cake base to it so don't go thinking you are about to bite into a typical donut. They are fluffier. The flavor is absolutely phenomenal in my opinion and every time I have come here they are insanely soft and super fresh! Definitely one of the snacks that I have to get every single time I'm here! I absolutely adore the flavor of the frosting because it isn't too sweet and it gives it the nice sweetness to the donut as you bite into it. The sprinkles are quite literally the best topping and the nice little crunch rounds out the entire body of the flavor making it perfect in my opinion! The staff is very friendly however I have noticed that towards the end of the day you can kind of tell they are getting fatigued from working all day however that has never stopped them from serving me with a smile on their face which always makes me happy to stop here as well! They also offer sodas to go along with the absolutely succulent Donuts that they sell!

This is not a sit down spot but more of a kiosk stand with few order to go windows. There are some benches and tables around in case you would like to take a break.
I have been eyeing this spot since we became pass holders in October of last year, and finnallyyyy, we tried the Big Pink donut on my birthday. Surprisingly, it was REALLY GOOD. Not dry, the perfect sweetness... HUGE and absolutely shareable. When I go back to the park with my family, we will get this over and over and over again.
Can we disappointed in this location? The one in California has way more selection of donuts, but the donuts are still really tasty. What they have that this one does have soft serve ice cream, which is really good but overall, I wish they had more of the selection of donuts that the California one has.
I love doughnuts so I couldn't help myself from getting the big pink! (It's as big as advertised!) I tried to eat it my myself but I'll for sure have leftovers. It was a quick service stand and the service was quick as advertised. You're outside by the lake enjoying the florida weather inside Simpsons land so ambiance is fun! Pro tip if you want a big pink and there's a line at lard land you can get a big pink at Kwik-e-mart
This is a stand at Universal Studios in Orlando. We always make sure to get one of the pink donuts here! They are massive and one of the best donuts we've ever had! They also started offering ice cream donut desserts since we've been here years ago. ***Make sure to get one right away when they open or wait in line to ensure you get a fresh one! Also... eat it right away or the icing melts off and not as good.
Lard Lad is such a awesome Quick service!!!! They are always fresh that day and delicious. The Big Pink and Apple Fritter are $7 but huge!!!!! You could easily Split one of these with three people. They also have a donut and ice cream sundae combo that is a bowl of soft serve with a donut on top. This stand also accepts certain Passholder discounts!!!! Definitely give them a try when you're in Universal Orlando.
Bought the humongous pink donut for $9 and some change because my teens insisted on it. I don't understand the hype. Basic, dry as a desert pink donut with sprinkles, and the workers that was there on 12/20 were kinda rude -_- as if the customers wanting donuts were a burden. I forgot to take photos of the Apple fritter- that was a disappointment as well. I couldn't taste the apples or cinnamon in it. The cookies n cream D'oh nut were pretty tasty, however. Love the photo op with Chief Wiggum in the front.
My child has been waiting years and years to get back here to try the giant donut! The last time we visited Lard Lad we tried the smaller donuts. They were delicious! If you want a nice, fresh donut without purchasing the larger portion, I highly recommend getting some of the smaller ones! They are pretty amazing and worth the calories. The Oreo donut is simply delish! The cereal ones as well. This time we got the huge donuts. Sooo worth it! They come in a huge box, so they are very portable. Do not forget to ask for forks so you can eat them easily. These donuts also tasted very fresh. We took ours back to the hotel and had a hard time finishing such large portions even after a few days. Right now they cost $7.99, not too bad considering the size. Be aware the line here can get very long. I was here during Spring Break and the parks hit capacity, so we waited. If you do not want to wait you can purchase the large donuts in the Quicky Mart, but the kids wanted theirs from the donut cart with the fun photo opps. Universal goals for next time would be to get the donut ice cream sundae!

As a doughnut lover myself, I've had my fair share of doughnut experiences. From Krispy Kreme to Dunkin Donuts, I believe I know my doughnuts. The place didn't even meet up to Dunkin Donut standards. The famous pink Doughnut didn't taste like anything special. I was expecting it to be similar to the strawberry frosted doughnut at Dunkin. It didn't even come close. The other doughnuts we tried weren't great either. Not to mention, the doughnuts are overpriced! Almost 8 dollars for one. Granted they are big though. The only thing I can say is it makes for great pictures but not great taste.

The Big Pink: Thanks to the enormous statue of their mascot, Lard Lad, Lard Lad Donuts is a conspicuous donut shop located in Springfield. It's part of the town's infamous Fast-Food Boulevard. Although I believe it has never been confirmed, Lard Lad is likely a parody of Bob's Big Boy and Randy's Donuts & Bakery. When Universal Studios opened their version of Springfield, U.S.A., Lard Lad Donuts went from fiction to reality and Simpsons fans like me could finally indulge in an actual Lard Lad Donut. Before someone jumps on me, I will point out that the doughnuts are actually made by Donut King in Minneola, FL (at least for the Orlando park's location). Although a few different options are available, I went with the "Big Pink" modeled after the pink sprinkle doughnut often seen being consumed by Homer on the show. The beguiling bemouth is about as big as my face but is relatively light at approximately 266g. It's a yeast/raised doughnut covered in pink vanilla flavored icing with a plethora of colorful sprinkles. Even though it was light in weight, the doughnut was relatively thick. Like pizza, it's hard to find a bad doughnut, there's just different degrees of deliciousness. Disappointingly, this is towards the lower end on that scale. I don't know if my particular doughnut was stale or not (the boxes are not dated), but it was a little tough and didn't seem the freshest. Other than the size, it really isn't anything special. Factoring in the $12 cost does not help it either. It should be noted that you can get 3-4 decent sized portions out of the doughnut, which might help justify it (unless you want to emulate Homer and like me, eat it all yourself). Lastly, it did make for a great photo op and as a Simpsons fan, it was worth doing once. If you're a fellow Simpsons enthusiast, then go for it. When we were in Springfield, USA, home of the Simpsons at Universal Studios Florida, my wife knew we had to get the Big Pink donut ($10.99) from Lard Lad Donuts. She was already familiar with it from reading theme park blogs and watching theme park vlogs. In general, as fans of The Simpsons, we thought Springfield, USA and Lard Lad Donuts were a lot of fun. If you visit Universal Studios Florida, I recommend checking out this area. Lard Lad Donuts first appeared in episode 134 of The Simpsons (season 7, episode 6), Treehouse of Horror VI (1995). The donut shop's giant mascot, Lard Lad, is recreated in real life here. He holds a giant donut, just like in the animated sitcom. It's glorious (and hilarious). Chief Wiggum can also be found outside the shop, enjoying a coffee and Big Pink donut himself. I love it. The Big Pink is a giant yeast donut (as opposed to cake donut) with pink icing and sprinkles. Taste and texture-wise, it was average/fine, hence my three-star rating. But, the novelty of the shop is fun and the Big Pink itself is unique. In addition to the Big Pink, which is the shop's most popular item, Lard Lad also offers regular-sized donuts, apple fritters, ice cream waffle cones, sundaes, and donut sundaes with a variety of toppings. And coffee too, of course. Mmm... Four of us split the Big Pink. I was already full from a plate of Scotch eggs, toffee pudding, and two Butterbeers at the Leaky Cauldron. The Big Pink was a nice little sweet treat as we made our way through Springfield from Diagon Alley to the E.T. Adventure. If I ever come back, I'd like to try one of those donut sundaes. i've bought some of the big doughnuts from here no problem typically the chocolate and pink ones and today when i was eating the pink doughnut i realized it is still doughy/uncooked in the middle hopefully i don't get sick off of it.. read more

4/5, December 2021. We probably wouldn't have bothered with this if our bartender at the neighboring Duff Brewery hadn't recommended it. The large "pink donut" was quite good. Not the best I've ever had but excellent for the fare that you usually see at theme parks. I think was about $8 which is a lot for a donut, but again, given that you are at a theme park and it's actually pretty good, seemed like a decent deal at the time. You can easily share one between a few people with everyone getting a good taste. read more

This is a must when you are at Universal. I thought you could only get the donut at Lard Lad's shop but no, you can get it inside most bakeries in the Universal. I was able to get the chocolate and strawberry doughnut. I would have to say that I prefer the chocolate one over the strawberry because the chocolate tastes better and the strawberry frosting was a bit too sweet for me. The doughnut is literally quality for its size. I was surprised but it was all there. I liked it very much and will get another if I am in the area. It's a must for me! read more

The BEST donuts I've ever had. We got the 4-pack ($11.99) deal. My favorite was the maple bacon and the Heath bar donut. The donut was soft and had just the right amount of topping. After walking so much, you could easily eat all 4. The line of course was long but worth it. Lard Lad is located in the Krusty world section of Universal Studios. read more
An Iconic snack to The Simpsons, Homer's infamous pink donut. Now, I am writing this one two separate visits. The first visit was during Halloween Horror Nights about 3 years ago. I went with my niece and her boyfriend at the time and we ordered the Giant Pink Donut. THAT THING IS HUGE and fed us three very well. It tasted like CAKE. It was that good. The second visit was the day after labor day, post covid and I decided to order the Brain Freezin' donut sundae since it's all over different iconic eats websites for Universal Studios. The sundae is beautiful. And it's quite large, great to share. It's a regular size pink donut cut in half with soft serve ice cream in the middle, a choice of topping sprinkled on the sides of the ice cream, whip cream and a cherry on top. Sounds great right? It's ok. It's just an ice cream sundae. The top half of the donut was dry, but the bottom half soaked all of the melted ice cream, so the bottom half had a better bite. Judging from the donut that was in my sundae, i would avoid getting a regular donut here. So, if you're looking for a sweet treat to share, get the giant donut. read more
The line at Lard Lad is usually pretty long. If all you want is The Big Pink, you can purchase it prepackaged in the Simpsons gift shop. But if you want something else or just the experience of getting something at Lard Lad, grin and bare the line! The Big Pink Donut is $5.32 and is a breakfast for at least 2 people. It's seriously huge! It's decent but don't expect the most amazing donut you've ever had..pretty dry and bland. Lard Lad had a variety of other donuts but this item is what's crazy-Homer-cool. You can also get donut ice cream sandwiches which is pretty cool! The workers were not friendly at all and were not concerned with the long line,so that was a bit disappointing. Getting a pink doughnut from Lard Lad is truly an experience if you're a Simpsons fan. However if you're not, skip it! read more

Reminiscent of the socal donut landmark, if staying trim is your goal you don't want to get a donut that makes you think of lard. But when you have a dining plan and the snack can be redeemed for a big pink iou go the giant donut with sprinkles. It was actually really tasty but I recommend sharing it with at least one other person. It's huge, the interior is very soft moist and fluffy with great flavor. As far as donuts go very very yummy. Lard Lad donuts are huge and delicious! The price of the donut that's as large as your head isn't bad either. I think it was 6.99. I think it would be equal to about 3 regular sized donuts. The service was quick and the kids loved them. Only major drawback is that there's no indoor seating, so we ate outside and it was a hella hot. read more

You know what, for an $8 strawberry donut the size of your head, it was actually delicious. And!! You even get to take fun pictures with it next to the lard lad statue and police car. Totally worth it if you are a donut lover like myself. It's even big enough to share with 3-4 people too. Definitely recommend stopping here for a sweet treat and fun photo opportunities. read more

I got the giant pink donut because how often do you see a giant pink donut?! It was huge and can probably serve 3-4 people. However, it was just for the gram, nothing special about the donut. Glad I tried it while I was at Universal though! read more

Lard Lad's is impossible to miss, with the eponymous Lard Lad statue standing next to the little shack where they sell ice cream and, of course, donuts. We'd seen the gigantic pink Lard Lad donuts available for sale elsewhere in The Simpsons section of Universal Studios, however none of us were feeling like immediately getting diabetes so we just split a regular donut each between the two couples. My fiancée and I got a regular pink frosted donuts with sprinkles. While it was just the tiniest bit dry, it was worth spending a few bucks on just to say you did and get a picture in front of Lard Lad himself, or Chief Wiggum and his crashed car nearby. Welcome to Springfield in Universal Studios. If you see the Simpson donut cop and his police car parked, its literally parked at Lard Lad Doughnuts. Nice little spot to indulge in something sweet. Is it the best thing you've ever eaten in your life? Nah. Its a regular donut with regular soft serve ice cream. Nothing spectacular about the way its baked. Its your standard donut with pink frosting which like any other donut will taste especially good if its fresh. Soft serve ice cream...well its soft serve ice cream, the mix together is exactly what you'd expect. Apple fritter was good but cold...along with donut, both would have tasted a lot better if they were served warm. Overall what would have just been 3 stars gets an extra one for the creativity and the start of what can be an interesting trend... The donut sundae. read more
I was initially thinking that the ice cream and donuts were overpriced. The donuts, not so bad. The ice cream, you get a lot for what you pay for. Probably one of the best deals in the park. The selection was a sliced strawberry icing covered donut with ice cream. Oreo, whipped cream, of course cherry on top. It was a meal unto it's own! I don't think I finished it. Where else can you get a tasty donut as big as your head?! My daughter and husband are big Simpson's fan so it was such a treat to be able to grab a donut from Lard Lad's and take pictures with the Simpson's characters. The Pink donut is huuuugggeee!! You can also get it sandwiched with ice cream which is a good option to cool you off from the Florida heat. There's also enough sugar in this donut to get the kids all hyped up to rIde everything in Universal studios... it's just a win win situation all around! read more

The famous donut is as big as your head and can definitely be shared but, if you want something a bit smaller they offer normal size donuts as well. Mmm, donut... I've never seen The Simpsons, but when you tell me there's a ginormous donut with pink icing, I'm sold. The Big Pink is the best value at $5, especially since it's the size of 4 single regular-sized donuts that are priced at $2.30ea or $7 for a 4-pack. Normally, anything upsized that much doesn't turn out well, but these are actually still really good. The donut is fluffy and just big enough so that the icing isn't overpowering. You can pick these up at this stand, as well as Krusty Burger and souvenir or candy shops. Overall, definitely a must for any Simpsons or donut lover. read more

So I came here because I am a HUGE Simpson's fan. Naturally I needed to try a Lard Lad Donut, but honestly wasn't expecting much. I'll also mention I'm not a huge fan of strawberry iced donuts, but for a simple donut this thing was bangin'! It was rich and not overly sweet, the strawberry didn't taste artificial like other donuts usually do. I was so impressed!! Lard Lad takes the win! read more
Surprised how much I loved this donut! Ordered the big pink donut for $5 and change. It was both huge and delicious! Better than laying $10 for 4 donuts. You know it's good when the rest of the day you keep thinking is how much you loved it! And a great price for a theme park! read more
