    Mole enchiladas

So, so good. Very rare to find an environment and food that are equally enjoyable. From the staff, to the ambience to the food - it made a business lunch a great setting for some great memories. The mole is prefect and the rice has great flavor which can be uncommon around here. The guacamole and chips are what they should be - homemade and fresh. Come here. Come alone or with fiends. Schedule a work meeting. Just come here. I can't wait come back and try all the menu items I'd like to try next like the chicken soup and Flautas. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

    Goodness I.

I'm very impressed with this place! We had no issues with the service, the food, the atmosphere, nothing! We came early enough to enjoy some happy hour specials (half off guac and queso, $2 off the house margs and wine) and got to sit outside and enjoy the spacious seating arrangements. Will definitely be back!

The most impressive thing about Doce Mesas is the ambiance. From the moment you pull up the place is impressive and as you walk in there is a crescendo of ambiance that culminated into an ultra-hip vibe. I sat inside, but quickly wished I had sat on the patio. You see, as elegant as the place is, it is also loud. Like really loud. Add to that we got seated in the "families with little kids" section and it was enough to put a cloud over the whole experience. I am not sure why a host would think we wanted to be in that section, but there we sat. The food was really good. We ordered Guacamole as an appetizer and Chicken Fajitas and Chicken Flautas as our main course. The Fajitas were topped with garlic butter, which while good, seemed to take some authenticity away from them. I got over that pretty quickly. Our server, Eric did a fine job. He was helpful and around just enough to keep us attended to without overwhelming us. Overall it was a good experience and I would return, I would just be a little more selective about where I get seated!

    The queso is exceptionally good.

Some of the best Mexican food we have had in a while. We sat on the back patio which has plenty of fans to keep everyone cool. Our waiter was very friendly and the service overall was outstanding. We started with queso which was absolutely delicious - thick with chunks of peppers. Their chips and salsa are also quite good. I would not call it fajitas, but the beef tenderloin dish is one of the best Mexican renditions I have ever had. The enchiladas are quite good but probably more like an 8.5 out of 10. They also make a great margarita. We will definitely be back.

A nearby restaurant that I intended to dine at was closed today so I quickly remembered Doce Mesas from a couple of favorable reviews by Yelpers about town, Stephen W. He was right. This is a great find in a convenient location but that's just to start. It checks all the boxes for my enjoyment. Pleasant atmosphere, good service, tolerable prices and of course good food. The food is more than acceptable,it's quite good. After examining the menu several times I took a chance on the Mole Chicken Enchiladas. Home run! The gamble paid off and this mole proved to strike that perfect balance between slight sweet edge and bitter undertones that results in the perfect bite. We also sampled the fish tacos, trying one fried and one grilled. Very good. The drinks are stout and authentically made. I would recommend this to anyone as I myself feel I've added another restaurant to my list of viable options.

We've been here many times and have always had amazing service but last night just really made me not ever want to go there again. We have always loved the service, food and drinks but last night we ordered a Barbie margarita, like we always do and it tasted terrible so we sent it back. It's basically a skinny margarita. When we mentioned that it didn't taste like it normally did, our waitress argued, "Well it's a skinny margarita so it's going to taste different" We mentioned that we were aware and that we've had it before and she acted somewhat disgruntled to have to replace it. We saw her and the bartender and another waiter convening at the bar behind us and the other waiter looked at us and shook his head and laughed at us. I also prefer my nachos cooked longer and sent them back and after that the service we received was pretty condescending until it was time to get our check. It was blatantly obvious that we were being made fun of. Just sad this as we always spend decent money there and tip 30% because we value the service industry but we won't be returning after feeling ganged up on.

Absolutely loved everything here! The employees were so nice! The ambiance was clean, fun and exciting! The salsa and chips were so good so I ordered the guacamole which had amazing taste! When I say the carne asada tacos had the best flavor I've ever had is an understatement! Will definitely be back!!

They barely put any thing in there it's just soup and the garnish that I put on and it's more than $13 not worth it at all so disappointing.

Not worth spending your money there. I order a Pozole verde and what I got was pretty much just the soup, they add one piece of chicken and the portion it's so small as you can see in the picture.

Thanks to the reservation, we were seated right away and immediately greeted by our server, who was honestly amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel effortless. We kicked things off with drinks. I started with an espresso martini, and it was really, really good--smooth, balanced, and exactly what I was hoping for. For my second drink, I tried the smoked Old Fashioned from their holiday menu. It was good, but I'll be honest, it was extremely strong. Like, really strong. In general, their drinks definitely pack a punch, so that's something to keep in mind when ordering. For my entrée, I ordered the Mediterranean smoked chicken salad, and wow. It was hands down one of the best salads I've ever had in my life. Everything was perfectly balanced, flavorful, and satisfying, and it didn't feel like a "boring" salad at all. It was so good that I already know I'll be coming back specifically for that dish, though I'm also curious to try more of the menu next time. Overall, this place absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Great service, strong drinks, and standout food. I'll definitely be back.

This coffee shop has quietly become my Dallas work-week crush…read more It's conveniently close to the office I'm using while I'm here, but the real draw is the vibe. Beautiful sunshine pours through big windows, there's a lovely park right outside, and the light is so good it feels like the café equivalent of a good hair day. Dallas weather helps, obviously--but this place knows how to use it. The space is lively without being chaotic. Plenty of outdoor seating, lots of indoor seating, and a very reasonable three-hour Wi-Fi window that keeps people working instead of camping. It feels intentional. People come here to stay, not hover in line. Speaking of which--there's never a line. They're clearly well staffed, everyone's efficient, and everyone is genuinely nice. Now, pastries. This is where they shine. A lot of unique options you don't see everywhere, and everything I tried was excellent. The almond croissant? Fantastic. The blueberry cake? A must-get. I went two days in a row (because obviously), and on day one they told me it was their most popular item. Day two, by 11 a.m., it was completely gone and kept selling out as soon as they tried to restock. That alone tells you what you need to know. The matcha is good--made from scratch, which I appreciate. Is it the best matcha I've ever had? No. It's better than Local Johnny's, but not quite on the level of Marin Coffee Roasters or Ralph & Rose. Still very drinkable and enjoyable, especially if you're settling in to work. What really sets this place apart is its personality. It doesn't feel like a cookie-cutter café or "insert minimalist coffee brand here." There's charm. Character. A little whiteboard with a joke about New Year's resolutions that made me smile. Small details, but they matter. Would I come back? Absolutely. I already did--twice. I'd recommend it especially for locals looking for a solid work spot, co-working with a friend, or anyone who wants to be productive without being bothered. If you're visiting Dallas briefly, this might not be a destination café--but if you're here for a bit and want a reliable, pleasant, sunny place to work and snack, this one's a yes.

When I moved to Texas, my in-laws would often suggest the Mesero on Lovers Ln. I never really cared for it initially. It was just a "different" kind of Tex-Mex. Their salsas were not the typical red salsas and their dishes were a lot more tacos and entrees. But somewhere along the way I started to really appreciate Mesero (all three locations I ate at). This Preston Hollow location maintains that quality though is far less busy than the Lovers Ln (Highland Park) restaurant. The staff are always extremely friendly and we see the same staff over and over, which is always a good sign to me. We've gotten to know some of them by name, and they are always very sweet to our children. It feels like a small town where all the staff take care of you and your kids. The food is also my favorite. For appetizers, their salsa dips come in green (with avocado chunks), yellow, and red. It was an acquired taste for me. Their queso (white) is my favorite of any restaurant anywhere, ever. For food, my wife and I typically get the combinations - which include an enchilada, brisket taco, rice and beans. We order the chicken tender kids meal and it's excellent. My wife and I "help" our son with his food because it's that delicious too. My other favorite is the Pollo la Brasa (it's a tender rotisserie chicken chicken over grits of sorts and red sauce. It's such a feast. Their salads are excellent and massive too. (You can order a half portion as well.) For drinks, they also shine. They do not seem to skimp. I like the La Doña. My wife likes the Santo (similar to a Mambo-Taxi at Mi Cocina). For dessert, we love the Cinco Leches cake. So delicious. Their ambience is nicely appointed and the restaurant is always spotless. It has a modern Mexican vibe. They have an outside patio that usually isn't difficult to get seated in. They have an upstairs for catering / private events too. The restaurant overlooks the park area of the shopping center. There are fountains, turf for kids to play on, and giant stairs that kids love to play on. Parking includes valet or parking in the covered parking or surface lots near Trader Joe's. It can be kind of a pain but parking is abundant. It's a massive restaurant and sad for them that it's not more busy, but we do our part to keep them busy!

I had booked a reservation on Resy and we were seated immediately in a small, intimate booth. Initially, it was not terribly loud, but as the evening progressed and several large parties were seated nearby; the sound of the music was completely drowned out. I think more noise abatement measures could be taken to absorb some of the obtrusive loudness we were getting. For a starter, we ordered the Calamari. It was fried perfectly and was great, but the Thai Sticky sauce was too sweet and the consistency of the sauce was thin. It needed something to make it more viscous, and a secondary sauce, like a marinara or even an aioli would've been nice to balance out the sweetness of the Thai sauce. For an entree, I ordered the Maple- Ginger Salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and itself was delicious, but the sauce was too sweet and rich. The fired rice that accompanied my meal was over-the-top salty. It was almost going into "too much" territory. For desert we split the Passion Fruit Ice Cream Pie. This was actually very good and not overly sweet. It was my favorite item from my meal. Overall Renny's truly employs a lot of care and attention to the food, but some of the items crossed a line into "too much" territory. Be it sweetness or saltiness, the kitchen could exercise a bit of restraint to let the flavors of the food shine.
