We got the sweet & spicy pepperoni pizza, wagyu meatball sub, and the tortellini. Everything was great, we were really impressed with it all. We also tried two of their craft cocktails. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly. The decor and interior are gorgeous. The vibe is warm and inviting. It's a large restaurant but it feels cozy. The ambience is one where you want to be there. 5/5 on ambience. Our server, Matthew, was one of the best we have ever had. He was warm, friendly, and helpful. He engaged with the kid and made her feel welcome. He steered me to choices that turned out great. 5/5 on service. We started with the caprese salad and it was excellent. The portion was small for the money, but the quality and flavor were outstanding. Matthew steered me to the lasagna and it was excellent. It was so rich that I could only eat half. I would have liked a bit more sauce, but overall it was very tasty and had lots of meat. I would get it again, maybe split it with the wife who also liked it. The wife had the Bolognese and it was good but not great. It. is supposed to be a pasta and meat dish but there was almost discernible meat. She found one small piece of meat. It was not bad, just not as good as she had hoped, or that we had experienced at Zeppole. She would not get it again. Instead, she stole my lasagna! For dessert, the wife had the olive oil cake. It was good but a bit dry, it should be moister. The kid had the lava cake and although she loves chocolate, she said there was too much. I guess it was cloying sweet. I had chocolate gelato and had no complaints. I cannot leave the review without mentioning the Silicon margarita. Wow, they (plural) were outstanding. I could drink those all night and live to regret it the next day. It is a perfectly balanced blend of flavors with Don Julio tequila, my favorite. Be sure to sip it through the salt. That is one dangerous margarita. I loved it. Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience. The bolognese and dry olive oil cake prevent a 5 star review, but it certainly was a very good restaurant. We will return for sure to try something else.

We had dined at another DM location recently and preferred this one head and shoulders above the other one. It's easily accessible at the intersection of Central and Walnut Hill. There is plenty of parking. The atmosphere here is pleasant and the decor is a soft contemporary design. They have noise absorbing panels throughout and the music was great- I heard some great tunes from Depeche Mode and Lykke Li and others. Definitely a chill vibe. The food was also outstanding. I had treated my mom and stepdad to brunch here, and everyone raved about their dishes. I had a agua fresca that was great, and the entree of Huevos Jaliscos were absolutely fantastic! There was a great depth of flavor. I really could not stop eating it! Overall, a truly remarkable meal, and this will be my Doce Mesa of choice going forward. It's an excellent value, delicious food and a great atmosphere. I'm looking forward to trying more of the menu in future visits.

I don't recall what I had on my first visit, but I know it did not impress me much. I had chicken enchiladas on my second visit, and they were very bland with mainly dark meat. There was a smaller bone in one of my bites, but thankfully I felt it before it did any damage. I get that food prices are soaring at this time, but $18 for two mediocre dark meat chicken enchiladas is disappointing and not worth a return visit. Open parking spots are extremely difficult to find in this shopping center, which I don't understand by observing the restaurants in this center were not particularly busy for a lunch period.

So disappointed they dropped the fried green tomatoes from the menu. Prices are reasonable, especially for spirits and beer. We started with the chicken fried quail tenders, which had a fantastic dipping sauce with them. For entrées, we had the New York strip chicken fried steak and the steak frites. I wasn't crazy about the chicken fried steak as it was a ton of batter and a very thin, thin piece of steak inside. I don't think I would order it again. The mashed potatoes and green beans and jalapeño gravy were very good though. My friend enjoyed the steak frites.

I'm not typically a fan of pork belly, but the pork belly lollipop was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I ordered the roasted chicken dish which came with mashed potatoes and green beans which were all delicious. I'm not usually a leftovers kind of gal, but I brought home my chicken dish leftovers and ate it for lunch the next day. I will definitely be back here and soon (especially for those deviled eggs).

Just as exciting was the opportunity to spend time with our friend and catch up. Since it was well past the lunch rush, Renny's was pleasantly quiet. We were seated immediately and settled comfortably at our table while waiting for our friend to arrive. Our server, Carlos, greeted us warmly and asked if it was our first time dining at Renny's. We assured him it wasn't. We started with a couple of glasses of their incredible iced tea, a special blend called Apricot Chardonnay. It's delightful. In fact, the restaurant sells it in the bag, and we always take one home with us. Our friend arrived just in time to look over the menu. With so many tempting choices, deciding wasn't easy. My wife, a devoted chicken salad sandwich fan, chose the chicken salad sandwich, and our friend quickly followed suit. I ordered the Friday lunch special: fried cod and fries with a side of jalapeño-infused coleslaw. During our visit, Kim, the manager, stopped by to introduce herself. She was incredibly personable and made us feel right at home. As we enjoyed our iced tea and caught up on all the latest news and gossip, Carlos arrived with our entrees. I sampled the chicken salad and can confirm that it is outstanding. The seasoning and mayonnaise are blended perfectly. My fried cod and fries looked picture-perfect. Carlos asked if I wanted malt vinegar, and my response was an enthusiastic "Of course!" Fish and chips just aren't complete without it. What a fantastic lunch we had. The ladies were all smiles and declared themselves happily satisfied. My fish and chips were among the best I've ever had. The cod was fried to perfection: crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. In a few months, we'll be traveling to Alaska, where there's supposedly a restaurant that serves the best fried cod anywhere. I'm willing to bet that Renny's cod would give them some serious competition. It was phenomenal. The fries were excellent, and the jalapeño coleslaw added the perfect touch. Even though we probably shouldn't have, we couldn't resist ordering dessert. I chose the Crème Brûlée, while the ladies shared an apple tart. The Crème Brûlée was incredible, especially paired with a cup of black coffee. They kindly gave me a taste of the apple tart, and all I can say is wow. The apple slices were cut paper-thin, likely with mandoline, and the puff pastry was baked to perfection. All in all, it was a stellar visit to Renny's. If it weren't so far from home, we would undoubtedly become weekly regulars. A special thank you to Carlos for his attentive, friendly service and to the entire team for making our lunch so memorable.

I had booked a reservation on Resy and we were seated immediately in a small, intimate booth. Initially, it was not terribly loud, but as the evening progressed and several large parties were seated nearby; the sound of the music was completely drowned out. I think more noise abatement measures could be taken to absorb some of the obtrusive loudness we were getting. For a starter, we ordered the Calamari. It was fried perfectly and was great, but the Thai Sticky sauce was too sweet and the consistency of the sauce was thin. It needed something to make it more viscous, and a secondary sauce, like a marinara or even an aioli would've been nice to balance out the sweetness of the Thai sauce. For an entree, I ordered the Maple- Ginger Salmon. The salmon was cooked perfectly and itself was delicious, but the sauce was too sweet and rich. The fired rice that accompanied my meal was over-the-top salty. It was almost going into "too much" territory. For desert we split the Passion Fruit Ice Cream Pie. This was actually very good and not overly sweet. It was my favorite item from my meal. Overall Renny's truly employs a lot of care and attention to the food, but some of the items crossed a line into "too much" territory. Be it sweetness or saltiness, the kitchen could exercise a bit of restraint to let the flavors of the food shine.
