Client called for lock change order in Allen. They arrived within 15 minutes and was complete in 30 mins fixing five locks.

My new-to-me car only came with 1 car fob. DML ( the Allen office) said they could come in 30 minutes, which they did. The nicest young man had the correct 5 fob (remote start, push button start, trunk, open & shut doors). It took him about 20-30 minutes to program the new fob. The new fob works great and the young man (I can't remember his name) explained everything and showed me it worked. I tested the functions myself too before he left. This made for a nice morning and now I wish I hadn't stressed about it for the last week or two. I'm glad I didn't go to a dealership where I would have had to leave my car. Requested to program two set of keys for my car . This young man was late and super rude . also cut the keys before programming the remote controls and couldn't finish the job . I was left out with two set of cut keys that not able to return because they are now cut and control wasn't programmed . he charged me 40$ for a job that wasn't complete , I can't return the keys so lost the money on that as well . now I have to call somebody else order new keys and spend more money . thank you for the disservice. read more

Please let me know if I am off base here but I feel like there may have been price gouging happen here. I am moving into a new home. They charged me $929 to rekey 8 deadbolt locks. I think it took about an hour. These were simple cylinder deadbolt locks that he popped out in a matter of minutes, took out to his truck to rekey and then reinstalled them. This was not an emergency call or after hours. Was middle of the day. The work was done well but $929 for 8 locks? Seems way too expensive to me. And they included a $49 service fee and their checkout system directed my wife to have to leave a tip that took the bill over $1,000. I will own the fact I failed to shop around or agree to their price but future customers beware, this is stratospheric pricing for simple job. If this is typical pricing across locksmiths I will delete this review (and invest in opening a locksmith business). read more

Called for a free estimate to install a "smart lock". First, they are super-responsive and VERY nice folks. My locksmith was David & he provided me with a Waze tracker to see where he was en route. Got there at the exact time he said. Next: he had the lock set that I wanted, but here is where it sour. He quoted me $400+ for a lock set that was listed on Google as half that. I told him I would pay the service call but I wasn't going to pay that. He went to his truck to talk to his "managers" and reduced it. This place is a very terrible. DML Locksmith have old keys, each building posted on website and other websites are fake. Drove to the location and it's other businesses there and it looks like they photoshop their business on the windows online. Talked to the manager and owner and they hung up in my face and didn't wanna help. My key worked but was disconnected in a week and they never tried to help me fixed a $382.00. So this place is either on site or appointment only. I wasn't aware of that when I messaged the company on Facebook. All I needed was a couple of keys copied. David, the owner, met me at their location at 6:15 pm to make 3 keys for a grand total of 6 dollars. The fact that he went out of his way for such a small task says a lot of about this business and how important customer service is. We were in need of programming a new RKE transmitter for a 2017 GMC Sierra. We spoke to DML and a gentleman quoted us $125 for the work. We called the GMC dealer and they quoted us $65 for the same exact work of programming an RKE fob. So please be aware that it appears that this business is way over charging the uneducated consumers. The deadbolt on my front door lock with keypad broke. I saw the reviews online for DML and called. David answered the phone promptly and I explained my problem. He said he could come over and checked on my safety (wanted to know if I was locked out). I reassured him I was fine. Within a few minutes, he texted me a Waze estimate of his arrival at our home. Once here, he moved efficiently and professionally at repairing the lock. After that was completed, he even offered to look at out stubborn back door lock. I just had this company come out to rekey my home. When the tech showed up he was already agitated because he got lost on the way over, so we were already off on the wrong foot. He started on rekeying the door and when he went to put the deadbolt back on he said that it was stripped and he couldn't put it back; though it had worked perfectly prior to removing it. He made 2 attempts then said he needed to take a break and went to his truck for 15 minutes and came back to try one last time. Then, he said he couldn't do it and that I'd need to purchase a new lock. Leaving me with no lock and a hole in the door where the previous one was. Then he asked how I'd like to pay. Naturally, I was taken by surprise as he hadn't done anything more than break my lock. Furthermore, I was able to put the lock back on MYSELF and it was not stripped, it just took patience. I have called and let them know I will pay for the service since the lock does work, however, I have not heard back. read more

We just bought two Yale smart locks, but we weren't confident we could do the installation correctly, plus we needed another dead bolt lock. I have communicated with David the technician and he insists that he told me the price would be $350 for one replacement car key. That is absolutely not true. I would have laughed at him if it was. I have myself to blame for being careless and not getting the price correctly in advance and not looking closely at the receipt before signing it. My bad. Looking online I see that keys like this seem to start at $90 or so by other locksmiths. I would not consider that to be unreasonable given the tools required to program the new key into the car computer; however, $350 feels like extortion to me for one lousy car key and 45 minutes of locksmith work. read more
