Unfortunately, they have a problem with bait and switch a bit in their store. I ordered a console seven switch panel to fill a console spot on the dash. They showed pictures of the switch panel without switches in it and with switches in it. They offered it to be purchased as just the panel or panel with switches. I ordered the panel which were quite expensive for switches, but they only sent me the panel. I had to call and get them to send me the switches missed and they said they would. Another week and I got the switches I had ordered, but they sent me blanks for each of the switch holes in the seven switch panel instead of switches. I them again to send me switches that I ordered and that were displayed on their site and they informed me they don't sell switches, even though it says they do. They only sell blanks for each of those seven switch locations on the panel. I told them that's not what their pictures show nor what their description shows and the pricing is what I would expect to pay for switches not blanks. Nowhere on their site does it say or show blanks. They refused to send me switches so I asked for a full refund with no exceptions and they told me that they would only give me a full refund with store credit and they would charge me a 15% restocking fee.. I argued but they don't care that they messed up no exception and they're not gonna help me. This is how they handle customer service and refunds and apparently not selling the correct items on their website and shipping you different items. I have pictures that show all as well as emails. Beware shopping with them as you might get stuck with items you didn't order and they won't give you a refund for it. read more

I was emailed about providing a picture of my license via email, because the shipping address was 10 mins away from my billing address. I said they could just change the addresses to be the same, but they then changed what they said, and asked for my information be emailed over anyways. Spent 6 hours trying to get a new fuel filter head to hold prime and get air out of fuel system after installing this legit have a blister on my hand from priming so much put the original on that leaked before and didn't have a problem. This company is a joke and their customer service sucks. They make you pay for return shipping for their crappy product just to screw you even more. I spoke with Kevin over the phone regarding a possible issue with my Allison 1000 transmission. I decided to have a Deep Sump pan installed with Synthetic tranny fluid. I made an appointment and drove the 90 miles to their shop. During the inspection of my rig their technician discovered a Loose fan shroud that was rubbing and causing the noise that I had originally thought was from my transmission. (Big relief) I had them install the deep sump pan with synthetic fluid and during the drive home I noticed the transmission temperature was at least 15° cooler than it used to be. Big shout out to the guys at the DMAX Store these guys are knowledgeable and they know what they're talking about definitely worth the drive. I will definitely use them for my future Duramax diesel and Allison transmission needs. read more

I finally was able to make the 2 hour trip to get my 2001 Dually LB7 to Dmax store and am so happy that they worked on the truck. History - I owned the truck for 3 years and had several local shops work on the truck to fix various minor issues and always left a little wary since they would only fix the problems that I pointed out and never looked beyond (even though I would ask them to keep eyes open for any other issues), only to have another issue pop up sooner than desired. By the time I brought it into Dmax, the motor was knocking and had a fuel leak, and I just had the truck into a local shop to fix a fuel issue. Also, about a year ago, I paid the local GMC dealer to look into the knocking and they said everything was fine. At my appointment time, I showed up and was greeted by Robbie and their mechanic to discuss my concerns and known issues. Their process of diagnostics, communication and recommendations were so refreshing. All the steps DMax took to diagnose and then repair the truck were logical and ensured the most effective repair, their expertise in Duramax motors is amazing. Yes, the truck needed a fair amount of work, but Robbie kept me in the loop the whole time. To drive the truck two hours back home and hear a smooth engine in a truck that starts, stopped and did not smell like diesel fuel was pure joy! As someone who likes to do some of their own work on cars/trucks, I fully appreciate the knowledge and service that Dmax provides. Love driving my truck again thanks to DMax! read more

I have been buying parts for my 2003 LB7 from DMax since 2014. Rebuilt the front end with the stage 3 Kryptonite ultimate package in the drive way, installed the drive shaft aluminum package, Mag High Tech covers, EFI Live, and soon PPE exhaust manifolds w/ up pipes and other little parts here and there all in the drive way in Orange County, CA. Any time I had questions Chad and Company where but a phone call away, and I called multiple times. When it came time to replace my T1000 Allison it was more than I wanted to do. I called up and scheduled an appointment, had DMax build a stage 5 transmission, drove the 425 miles and spent the day at the shop. I was in and out in a day. Best Duramax place with an incredibly helpfully and courteous staff. Went in for an oil leak that they thought might be a main seal and ended up only being a leaky oil pan. Instead of ripping me off they called me and informed of the actual problem saving me a grip of cash. Well, usually I do my own repairs, but due to an injury, not able to do what is necessary. I have driven by the store many times but never stopped. My truck was overdue for the 100 K service. Took it in an was pleasantly surprised to find very a competent service writer who didn't push any extra service. The repairs were on time. What prompted me write this review is report on the status of my trucks brakes,, power steering hoses, injector pump pressures and code read out. I am close to needing rear brake pads and have one injector that is almost out of spec. most other shops would have pushed for these repairs. They just said watch them an when its time for another oil change recheck these items.. WHAT, no hard sell? They will have my business from now on. read more

Was having some DPF problems after returning my truck back to stock after being deleted for years. I had to wait a month for my appointment but it was well worth the wait. Im so glad I made the trip from Elk Grove, Ca. I got a couple quotes from local transmission shops where I live for a transfer case leak and none of them made me feel like I trusted them enough to work on my 2005 LLY. These shops wanted to replaced the whole transfer case while the guys at DMAX store were able to only replace the t-case housing! BAM! Saved some money baby! I'm able to fund my other repairs now lol Good thing I went to these guys now had I kept driving it and really do some damage internally Can't wait to pick up my rig! I miss it...... read more

Six months ago I had the pleasure of taking my 6.6 LLY GMC to this establishment for the ever present problem of blown head gaskets on these engines ( with a little help of a heavy foot !). The repair is VERY expensive no matter where you take it for repair. The service and professionalism here is exellent, it is comprised of service people who live breathe and sleep Duramax's, they did the job and made the engine bulletproof with head studs, superior gaskets plus spotted some other problems with the running gear which I had them repair. There was a minor problem with the glo-plug indicator light when I got it home but they instructed me on how to fix it myself by checking the connectors, one had worked its way apart saving me a 40 mile trip. read more

We just bought our first duramax about two weeks ago, it's an '05 LLY and started having fuel problems. We came in thinking it would be one thing, and Chad at the shop took a quick look and ran some scans and found out it was something completely different and much,much cheaper. He easily could have lied to us and still sold us the part it didn't need. We also had him perform some front end work while it was there, and he only gave honest info, and never tried to up-sell anything. Terrible! I bring the truck in stating the transmission was over heating. So they do a transmission service and tell me everything is good, Clean oil, no issues, cant find anything wrong with it, the test drive shows no over heating. So after it checks A-OK they suggest a deeper T-oil pan and suggest replacing my drive line bearing. So agree to the tune of $500 additional dollars. I pick the truck up and drive it 15 miles down the street and the transmission starts to over heat again. I bring it back and a few days later they tell me the transmission T-oil is now dirty and suggest a full transmission overall for $3,500.00. I say no thanks, I'll come pick up the truck. When I come to pick up the truck, they charge me another $220 for a second transmission flush service. The guys give good customer service, but I cant but feel that I got flipped out of $750 to tell me I needed a new transmission. read more

***This is an updated review****** My truck is now finished. I have a 2013 GMC 3500 (dually) and just had a cp3 conversion installed, along with all new front steering, 60 gallon titan fuel tank, fuel lift pump, and 4.56's. There ended up being issues with the tuning and the gear change. I don't fully understand the issue, but basically the tuner was unable to get my ABS light off due to front wheel sensors and rear wheel sensor. Chad and the tuner spent hours working on this and trying to come up with a solution.. and It was probably over 30 hours in just trial and error on the tunes. At one point I was considering putting the stock gearing back in, but they convinced me to wait and let them CONTINUE to do some more research and see if they can come up with anyone that knows a fix for the issue. I have had my truck back for about 2 weeks now and other than having an ABS light on the truck drives and feels great. I feel completely comfortable knowing that they did what they could and are continuing to look into the issue. I have some more work scheduled with them for the end of July and I can't wait to finish the build. Also, Chad called me either every other day, or EVERY day to update me on the status of my truck and dealt with my ridiculous question's which I am sure were a pain in the ass even though he won't admit it. read more
