    Finished fender flares
    Raymond B.

Let me begin with, Holly Canoli Batman!!! A few weeks ago I started a project in which I am Rhino Coating my Suburban K1500. I purchased Bush Wacker Pocket style fender flares which I wanted to paint with Hercules Black Bed liner, which comes in a can, I purchased 4 in total. I also purchased the Rust-Oleum Tall can Bed Liner for the fender walls, 1 can, 3 Gallons of clear Rust-Oleum Truck Bed Coating, 3 cans of Rust-Oleum Dark Gray tint, 2 bags if Rust-Oleum extra grit and an application kit, also by Rust-Oleum and a whole bunch of other parts totaling around $745.00. When I completed the fender flares and they were sitting in the sun and heat to cure, I began getting the rest of the products out in the garage ready for the next phase. I had noticed that I may have replaced a can of tint. After searching most of the day, still only had 2 cans of tint. I thought to myself "son of a ****"! I must have forgotten it at the store. No worries, I guess my mistake, I'll go and buy another can in the morning. So I began cleanup and brought my finished fender flares in the garage and hung them on the rafters to not be up against everything. I left all the other purchased products on the floor under the flares, instead of putting them all away. I was upset at myself over the can of tint. Next morning: I went to my garage and was absolutely stunned at the new remodeling that was started when I opened the door. Apparently the Rust-Oleum Tall can spray on liner just blew it's cap and sprayer and was emptying it's content all over my garage ceiling, fender flares and tools! I put on some rubber gloves, ran to the can and placed my hand over the top of the can until it stopped. When it did, and I looked around, let's just say pissed off was an understatement, I then noticed it got on my finished fender flares and they began to orange peel, for those who don't know what "Orange Peel" is, it's when the paint or product begins to dissolve and lift off the surface causing what looks like the peel of an orange. Apparently, the two products are not comparable, so lesson learned I thought. When I cleaned everything the best I could, I gathered up the exploded can and my receipt and brought them to the AutoZone in Gardnerville where I made the purchases. My girlfriend and I were met by Dallas, the store manager and Juan, the assistant store manager. I showed them the can, explained what happened and carried on about it ruining my project, I asked for a refund of the can as I didn't believe it was my fault for the top to just blow off like that. They agreed. So I knew I had to get more product to start over again on my flares. While my girlfriend was handling the refund, I cordially went and gathered more product to restart the flares. Once I grabbed what I needed, I remembered about the tint and mentioned I may have forgotten a can so I'll need to purchase another if they had it. Juan found one for me and added it to the product on the counter. At this time, my girlfriend pocketed my refund, silly girl, and I broke out my credit card to purchase what I had gathered up. Then the most strangest thing happened, something that had never happened before in my lifetime and may never happen again. I mean, this was so staggering I about lost my mind, literally was so confused and dumbfounded, I had to take a moment to comprehend what had actually just happened before my eyes, I was shocked! The manager, completely and without any thought said this to me; "We take pride in all our customers no matter what they buy or how much, since this product ruined your project, AutoZone would like to convey our sincerest apologies and will not be charging you for the replacement products or your forgotten can of tint. Our way of saying Sorry". Shocked?! And you're just reading the review. I actually witnessed and felt the sincerest remorse from both Dallas and Juan! My hope for humanity has just been restored by the tone, professionalism and complete compassion of these two 5 Star employees, Dallas (Store Manager) and Juan (Assistant Store Manager) of the AutoZone in Gardnerville/Minden location on Hwy 395. If you are ever looking for anything automotive, this AutoZone surely kicks ass in customer service and appreciation. Thank You two gentlemen in a job most well done. You're both a cut above the rest! !
