I live in arizona and have been looking for a host tahoe slide in camper. Not many host dealers have the tahoe model in stock. Custom truck accessories had one. I negotiated everything over the phone with the mgr. Kent. He made the process painless. Did everthing he promised over the phone. Excellent purchase. All the guys there were more than helpful. They did suspension work on my truck to accommodate the 4500 lb camper and it drove like a Cadillac to az. I'm very impressed with custom truck accessories Kent and the guys. Accolades to all. Thanks again! I'm a happy camper!! read more

I have had them do a couple modifications, wheels, and tires for me and my husbands vehicles. They are always very thorough, do a good job and are friendly. I stopped by the other day because I was magically missing a lug nut after getting my tires replaced somewhere else and they were more than willing to help and replaced the lug nut without a charge. Thanks again!! read more

I used Custom Truck Accessories 3 years ago when I was working in Carson City. I needed tow mirrors put on my Ram 2500. They found the appropriate mirrors and installed them in 4 days. Two months ago, my driver's side mirror was damaged and needed to be replaced. I tried to find the replacement myself, but was unsuccessful. I live in the Coachella Valley so that I couldn't drive to their store. I found their number and called them a week ago. They found my paperwork, remembered who I was, and searched for a replacement. They were able to find one, and it is now on the way to my residence. These guys are the best. They have a beautiful, clean store, and everyone who works there is excellent, professional, and goes out of their way to help their clients. Thank you, Dan. read more

Hats off to these guys! Every time I go here they are more than willing to make any request reality. Most times they can get parts next day and fit you in their busy schedule asap. Great job to all! Thank you Dan and team for all you do!! Can't wait to go back and see what's new. read more

Got the topper. Installed quickly and professionally. We'll see how the next purchase goes.

Custom Truck has always been so vey helpful when we go in for a part, or have a question. Recently, we went in after we struggled to get our truck camper shell adjusted to no avail. It got misaligned when we pulled out of the garage with the back window up. Not a problem for these guys...correction made in a flash! Thank you for your great service, Custom Truck! read more

In my experience with this company. They (Spencer and ken or Kent) performed an exceptionally poor quality warranty repair on my solar panel. Instead of getting the proper parts the just gooped a bunch of sealant on it and tried to tell me "good as new". When I told Spencer that I didn't like the look of the repair, he tried to intimidate me by staring me down. If this is the kind of work they are willing to push out the door, they can keep it. And if trying to be intimidating good customer service, this is your place. read more

Needed some tires for my truck, thought about other tire shops but because we use the Dodge Dakota for camping and other off road activities Custom Truck seemed like the right choice. There customer service was top notch, Dan greeted us as soon as we walked it. Not knowing exactly what we needed and what work best didn't seem to be a problem. He gave us a few options and since we bought our tires from him we now get rotation for life. Thanks for such good experience. read more

I'd give it zero if I could. I went in there a few weeks ago and talked to a guy about doing some lighting for my truck. He said I'd have to pay for the lights and when they were delivered he'd call me and se an appointment. Fair enough. A week later I came back to pay for the lights. when I walked in there was no one at the counter but I heard someone talking in the back. Eventually a different guy came out and walked right past me (a customer standing at the counter) while talking on the phone. He never looked at me, never acknowledged me standing there as a customer. He just went behind the counter to a desk and continued talking on the phone. 15 minutes went by and at no point did he ever look up, acknowledge that he had a customer in any way. Like I wasn't even standing there. Guy was a complete asshole and they just lost about a thousand dollars worth of business because he was a ruse asshole. Fuck that place. I will never take my truck there. read more

Had a pack rat tool box installed. They ordered the wrong size initially, so I had to wait until they got the smaller one in. To my surprise the smaller toolbox cost the same as the bigger one, or at least that's what they told me! The tool box installation went great, but when I got home I noticed I had a busted tail light. The tail lights were brand new. I just bought a new one and figured I'd chalk it up. The second time I went in I had a cat back exhaust system they said they could install. Took it in for them to install it, and they called me about an hour later and said it's a builders kit and they can't weld it, but not before they cut my other exhaust off of my truck! Then when I asked them if they knew of anyone who could install the kit they said they didn't know of any shops. I will never go back to these guys. They should change their name to "Mostly Custom Truck Accessories", or "Hack and Butch Truck Accessories". These guys have terrible customer service! Use at your own risk. read more

The crew at Custom Truck in Carson City treated me right! I was having suspension noises from the front end of my 21 Tacoma which Custom Truck put a Rough Country Suspension kit on when the truck was new. I use the truck a lot off road. The kit has been great but developed noises that definitely sounded like something was broken. I couldn't see anything broken, the Toyota dealer couldn't find anything wrong after 2 visits, but finally Custom Truck found the problem -- a cracked upper control arm and 2 broken ball joints. It's wonder I never crashed! Not only did they find the problem, but they replaced both upper control arms AT NO COST. They even spoke with Rough Country and got a new pair of control arms at no cost to me. The truck now drives great. Problem solved. My hat is off to Custom Truck and Rough Country. Unlike most places, they stand behind their work and products, and will do what it takes to solve customers' problems. They are knowledgeable and capable. Can't say enough good things about them! Honest and knowledgeable. Got Bilstein shocks installed on my 14' Tundra. Fair price. Great communication. Rides like a new truck. Thanks.

Worst customer service!! Horrible installation work. These folks are very, very shady, IMO. The work they performed in my truck failed within a couple of weeks, and they have not stood behind there work. I have had to elevate my case to the court system. read more

CTA is FANTASTIC! Just about 2 years ago I got a crazy idea - I'm going to sell my travel trailer and truck and go to a truck/truck camper setup. I wanted a Host, and there just aren't that many places that are dealers for Host...and I'm in Washington, and there is only 1 in WA and they were kind of uncomfortable to deal with. I reached out to Kent at CTA, and he made me a much better deal and was so so willing to answer all of my questions. We picked our camper up just about 2 weeks ago now, and the pickup was just perfect and seamless. We're experienced campers as far as our first "starter" travel trailer went, but totally new to truck campers and Host. Walked us through all the things, the unit was ready to go, and he had the Fast Guns we needed and helped us get it all rigged to take home. I deal with a ton of companies, I'm in construction, and CTA was just SO easy to deal with. Being able to totally trust your vendor is invaluable, and I was able to completely trust CTA. I will happily get all of my truck and camper related stuff from them in the future, the drive from Seattle to Reno and back is worth it. read more

Custom truck installed a receiver hitch and brake controller on my Palisade. The install and product is much better than what we had gotten with U-haul with our last vehicle. Since the install, the brake controller unit malfunctioned randomly and they replaced with a new unit, no charge. Recently we needed our ball replaced on the weight distribution hitch as we couldn't get it off and they were able to do this for us on a whim, no charge. Overall, these guys are super easy to work with, will get the job done, and go above and beyond. read more

Had nerf bars put on my truck. Took and hour for the removal of my old bars and install of new. They charged me for 2 hours of labor. I called upon arriving home and reviewing the invoice. They said they had two guys working on it hence, two hours. The invoice does not state that it is per person, just by the hour. Bogus and took advantage of a 70 yr young women. Buyers, beware. I purchased a high end suspension and Leer shell. I think you would be fine with the shell process but the suspension process left a lot to be desired. Including them not telling me I should come back after 500 to 1000 miles, dropping the car off early in the morning not to have it done, alignment out of whack, etc. it makes it difficult to communicate with them because when you call, there is a super long holding process. In the future, I'll be looking at other alternatives. read more

I purchased and had them install Rancho 9000 shocks on my F250. Within weeks, one of the adjusting dials broke off in my hand. I explained this to the staff and they immediately made arrangements to cover this under warranty. Once a new shock arrived, they installed the replacement shock right away. Everything was handled professionally and to my complete satisfaction. I will definitely continue to use these guys! read more

Camped in Carson City with my IKON Pass enjoying resort and backcountry skiing with recently renovated motorcoach with new complete motorcoach makeover. The finishing touch was getting my headlights professionally restored with LED bulb upgrades. I was also in need of getting my BlueOX Towing system serviced. Customer Service is horrible. Went in with my husband and stood at counter for about 15 minutes while 3 employees b.s. about their trucks. No one acknowledged us at all. Continued to wait for about another 15 minutes when one employee turned around and walked into the back... without acknowledging us!Why didn't he ask us what we wanted????? Then the second employee finally shut up and walked away and the the third guy finally asked us what we wanted. After half an hour we got one question answered and left. I searched and searched on-line for a set of 'step bars' for my 97 Ford F-350 Crew Cab pickup. I finally found a set that touted NO drilling, and easy installation with included hardware. Well, guess what... First tool listed in the instruction sheet was a 7/16 drill bit. Huh? Ok, I have that. But when I went to install the very first mount, the hole ON that mount did not fit the spring shackle bolt that was the main support in the front. Dead in the water. Enter Custom Truck Accessories. I stopped in and asked if they could install my bars. No problem. I made an appointment for the next day. I brought my truck in, along with my still-in-the-box bars, and told it would be about an hour or so. I took off for a walk. When I came back, the project was 'not quite done' yet, but it would be shortly. Turns out, more drilling was required, along with a bit of fabrication to make this set of bars fit. Apparently this is not unusual. But, in the end, they did a professional job and I'm thrilled with the outcome. The guys who run this establishment are friendly and professional. They also have a sense of humor, which helps when things don't go swimmingly... I would come back to this business in a heartbeat. And yes, I WILL tell my friends (like I am here!). A couple years ago I purchased and had them install a new state-of-the-art brake controller for pulling our travel trailer, and they did the same professional job with that as well. I'm sold! read more

I bought a Leer cover for my Toyota Tacoma. It works great. However, living in Tahoe the cold weather often froze the lever on the supports thus breaking and becoming unusable. This happened twice. To surprise my husband on his retirement of 26 years from his company, I drove our truck into Custom Truck in Carson City to explore options to add a shell to protect our dogs in our future travels. We have wanted to add one since 2017 but for all reasons, we decided to put it off...until now. Chad Giordani was super helpful and since I knew what we wanted from years of looking at them, he showed me one that was there with a different style and insulation for cold weather climate needed where we plan to live. Not only did it match our color but he was able to have his team install it while I waited happily! The surprise on my husband's weary face was worth it when I pulled into the driveway! Spent over $8,000 on accessories here for our 2018 Chevy Colorado. Bought the retractable running boards. Asked the sales tech, Mitch, if there are problems with the running boards malfunctioning due to road dirt. Was told, "No. Issues only occur with trucks working in deep snow. Ice gets in the mechanism and they will not work." Bought them and now regret it. One sales tech here is the rudest, condescending, jerk! He talks down to customers and heaven forbid he need to look up from the computer screen to even look at you when he is talking to you. If you are a woman, a senior, or a handicapped person looking for guidance on something they sell, FORGET IT! This sales tech will not go out of his way to explain anything to you. I am truly trying to figure out why he still works for this company unless he is the owner. If he is the owner, avoid this store as he knows nothing about customer service.
