I have been a customers of Tires La Cumbre for years as I own three vehicles so I go here regularly to get used tires. I generally ONLY deal with the owner because he usually lets me pick out the tires or he finds me exactly what it is I want whether they are for offroading or all weather. I did give them a five star review hell I even sent my friends here to get tires that is what you do if you enjoy doing business with a company. But I am DONE! First off the last set of tires they sold me for my truck had massive chunks taken out of the tread but I still purchased them and the owner charged me a $120 dollars sorry but legally you cant sell tires where chunks are missing its against the law but again I still bought them. Why? Because I have been a customer here for years and figured well maybe its all they had since it is all he showed me. Generally I get to pick lately they pick something and that is what I get. Well I just left this morning to having tires put on my Subaru this morning of 4/13/18. I arrive at the shop twenty minutes early some other person arrives and the guy opening the shop puts him ahead of me says he ordered tires the day before. So then I sit there for a half hour despite both garages are open nobody helps me. Finally the guy takes me to the yard shows me a set of tires says its the only ones he has for my car as if they are rare. I explained to him I need all weather tires because its a business vehicle used for transporting people so it has to be up to code since most of them have physical impairments. Nobody tells me the price of the tires and the tread is not great. These are not brand name tires and with the tread on them ill have to replace them in a few months but it is all they had. I then get hit with a bill of $200 dollars I told her come on that does not sound right. These are used tires and most of the tires here if you look at them they are in poor condition and should not even be put on some vehicles. I told the lady at the front desk to get the owner he was in the garage instead she calls him on the cell phone instead of just letting me talk to him. They would not even go $20 dollars cheaper and work with me on this. If your going to sell used tires you better quote me the same all the time if not then your just charging me whatever you feel like it and today Tires La Cumbre fucked me for a better term to describe my experience today with them. I mean they did not give me any other options by law you have to tell me the price and then you cant even lower the price a little after I been buying tires for years here? Bullshit! I told the lady at the front desk who by the way hardly speaks any English that I would not be coming back here again. I can get used tires anywhere and its not worth losing a good customer like me for something like this. Until the owner and this business resolves this issue I will not come back my friends will no longer come here and ill be reporting this business to the proper outlets for safety violations and trust me I am not just some dumb white boy since I am the ONLY white boy there that always seems to be buying tires. But because I am white they charge me more and there mexican friends less which is BS! Therefore, this place gets one star just like on yelp and all over the internet I am going to give it one star. When I told the lady at the desk that I am not going to be a customer anymore she looks at me and says OKAY! Okay? That is okay your losing a customer all because you want to price gouge me. I mean I can go up to Reno go to another used tire place and pay half what I paid today. The tires they sold me are not anything special and it was all they had which is not fair because it does not allow me to pick something I need for the roads here in the mountains. Do not go here folks they will constantly change prices on you one day you pay 100 dollars for four tires next day you pay 120 dollars for two tires that have no tread and are all beat to hell. Today I was ripped off and I will make sure I go through the appropriate channels to resolve this issue. The owner buys these tires at a bulk rate then they decide to charge you more then what the tire is actually worth used. If you want to be fair you sell me 40 dollars per used tire especially when the tread is low and you do not give me a choice to pick anything else. Their is absolutely no customer service skills I hardly ever see anyone speaking English so for all I know they are talking about me and saying lets charge him out the ass. This place did not do proper business with me the past two times this month and when you sit there trying to bring forth the issue you get told okay and bye. That is what the lady did she says I want 200 and pretty much told to get lost rudely not even have a nice day or sorry for the inconvenience NOTHING! The first time we went to Tires La Cumbre the service was good and the price was great! THEN.... I went back 2 weeks later to get another used tire for the drivers side. ( I didn't bother asking the price because my boyfriend said it has been this price for YEARS.) So they did the work of changing the tire ( NOT as fast as the first visit either!!!!). When my boyfriend went into the office to pay they said it will be $30.00 more for a used tire than it was 2 weeks ago and they said it was never the price i paid the first time.( of course there was NO receipt given the first time,so we couldn't prove how much we paid ) so since i didn't have $30.00 extra to pay we had to spend even more wasted time for them to switch my tire back to my old one. SO I WAS NOT PLEASED AT ALL AND WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE....EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't going to mention this part, but after reading someone else's review and saw that they noticed the same thing as i did.........All the hispanic customers were being helped right away and coming and going while us white people were being set aside to take care of them first. read more

Juan and the crew have always treated my fairly and the tires I have purchased served me well. Balancing is always done properly and, after I mentioned it several years ago, the crew now uses torque wrenches on the lug nuts. Juan is a dedicated owner who has put his heart and soul into the business, and spends waaaay too many hours on the job. C'mon Juan, smell the roses! As far as his mechanics, I understand Juan has had issues with some (past) employees but I had the timing belt done on son Matt's WRX recently (a demanding, complex job) and it was done professionally. I'm somewhat paranoid and pulled a belt cover to double check and there were the paint timing marks I expected to see on the vibration damper, along with the new belt and water pump. Juan operates a totally local operation and money spent at La Cumbre (the summit!) stays primarily in the community. I highly recommend this independent shop! read more

I didn't have the tire with me that had gone flat, and they were nice enough to tell me to bring it back when I can and they would switch the spare's rim with new one and put it back under my car at no charge. They told my wife the front CV axles needed repair. They told my wife it was only going to be a two hour job. On 5/15/2015 we took the car in at 8.05 am in morning. My wife called at 1:00 and they told my wife it was not ready. My wife called again at 3, still not ready. My wife called at 5,they said that they just finished and they she could come pick up the car.My wife was very upset, on how a two hour job, can turn in to all day job.The owner did not care that my wife was upset he just wanted money. The next day the car started making a loud click, this noise kept getting louder. On 5/19/2015 we took it back to their establishment.The owner was a complete jackass, he refused to even look at the problems that may have arisen, from his mechanics work. One of his associates stated to my wife that "La Cumbre Tires had several complaints against his mechanics work, and the owner dose not care, and does absolutely nothing when customers get shoddy work done" My thoughts on this matter. I want to give a friendly warning to everybody, please don't take your car to this place. Here are my reasons: They do terrible work. One of the associate that works there will tell you that. Possibly the slowest service possible for a simple tire swap. Not sure if this is passive agressive behavior as I bought the tires on Tire Rack and used this recommended installer. DO NOT use this place to install tires. They lost the order twice, and kept asking me for the same information each of the six times I called to coordinate service. Also, as I sat waiting 2.5 hours for a scheduled visit starting at 2:00pm on a Saturday, I'm lost count how many apparent breaks were taken by workers. No sense of urgency at all. Great place for new and used tires, very reasonable on price and fast service! This is our 3rd time here with the same great service and will continue coming back. Business is located back from the main street (US 50) so maybe a bigger business street sign or maybe keep the existing sign but add something to it to catch the public eye when passing by. They are located across the street from CVS pharmacy behind a used car lot business. Take the driveway next to the dealership and drive straight back and you will see it. After all these years there is still an old food truck sitting there near the entrance with other vehicles that look like they are in need of attention. Bought 4 tires from them with Bad Beads and wouldn't seal against the rims. They sold them to me late at night and said they didn't have time to mount them. When I took them to Les Schwab to get mounted, found out why, the BAD beads. Took them back and asked for me money back and they said you bought them 2 weeks ago and absolutely ripped me off. This place is not good at all. I took my car here for a fix up and Juan (I believe is the owner) kept blowing the job off. I left my car there before Christmas and til this day I do not have my car. I keep calling and everytime I do he tells me "it will be done later today" or "tomorrow it will be fixed" or "it'll give you a call later so you could come pick up your car". I never get a call back and he never has it done. I don't know what he does at his job but he sure ain't working on the car. I called him to clarify what's going on and he said it wasn't his problem and that he has the car at another company or something like that, I don't know he just went off. I've never felt so disrespected. I would recommend that you all keep away from this place because he is known to rip people off. Believe me people, I'm only trying to help you all out. I can surly say I will never go back to this place again. I still don't have my car back and as of now I believe the only way I'm getting this done is through a lawsuit and that's the direction I'm heading.
