We have done a lot of business here. A lot! Prices are reasonable & the quality of service is decent. What I would recommend is to hire a dedicated person to work the phones! We called to check to see if our new tires had come in. We were put on hold & honestly no one ever came back to the line. We drove from Reno back to Carson calling back several times. No answer. The phone just rang & rang. We drove directly to the store. We saw the store was busy. We actually heard the phone ringing incessantly! Ridiculous!! If your business is busy, that is a good thing!! Been a customer of America tires in San Jose Calif since the 1980's, lived in Arizona for about 15 years where Discount Tires sponsor me as a jet ski racer, moved to Vegas, Reno and then Carson City Nevada where I've lived since 2016. In my car collection of 31 cars/trucks discount tires is a must. This is not about me but how well I'm taken care of at this location. I have Z06, zl11le, vipers, hellcats and some Rams that are extremely fast & must be maintained. Went into discount tires with my power wagon flat tires, Landon was the tech that repaired the tire and another tech rotated all the tires and somewhere one was not fully tightened, but looked secure. Landon, one of discount tires best, that was the one repairing tires, came over to recheck the torque lbs on my 2500 Ram Power Wagon, found one rim loose, and fixed what could have been a deadly accident down the road. The entire staff at this location is extremely dedicated to customer service and goes far beyond expectations. The manager Jonathan was awesome! I called earlier in the day to get new tires. He set aside 4 brand new tires for me. I told him I wouldn't get of till 40 mins before they closed. He told me that they would take care of. They did in fact take care of me he gave me a discount so that the total could fit onto my credit card! He and his team stayed past their closing time to make sure that my car got the new tires that it needed! Free rotations and repairs for life on the tires!! On two separate vehicles we had to return to the tire center multiple times to have problems corrected with the new tires we had just purchased. While waiting the last time we overheard and witnessed five other people who were returning to have problems with their new tires corrected. The problems we had were due to sloppy and rushed workmanship. The problems were eventually corrected. If you have anything out of the ordinary double check the work before you leave. The Information given the sales person does not always get relayed to the shop workers. In my opinion the music and it's volume are not acceptable, especially for the older generations. The management has worked hard to correct our issues, which should not have happened in the first place. Also, when there is a problem, take their response with a grain of sand, they try to b...sh..their way out of their shoddy workmanship. A Goodyear is a Goodyear and a BFG is a BFG there is a reason why they are one of the cheapest tire shops around. I think it is great that they hire kids from the community, but management needs to train and oversee their work a bit more. In the end the tires did get installed correctly, it should not take multiple trips back to the shop to get the job done correctly. read more

You may get quicker service walking in over making an appointment. Made appointment over a week ago and received multiple texts for two different times for my appointment. Arrived at the earliest time and was told 90 minutes. Using the tracker shows more than two hours for completion. This is for a tire rotation!! 40 minutes now and my truck isn't even in a bay yet. Someone in Discount tire management (when I confronted him with terrible service at a Reno store set up for me to go to the Discount tire in Carson City for some work done for free to make up for what happened in Reno. I set up an appoint for 2:30 on a Tuesday afternoon. They finally took my car in at 3:00. I specifically mentioned that they reset the car (Volvo) to I would not get a tire pressure light. Their personnel indicated they had that down. When I left the store I had two missing caps on the fill stems and -- shockingly a tire pressure warning. I'll need to go to Volvo in Reno to get that addressed. I'd been a discount tire customer for 20 plus years in Arizona, always had great service. Apparently in Northern Nevada, they don't understand customer service of quality work. Stay away from Discount Tire in Reno and Carson City. read more

I absolutely love this discount tire store. Back in 2021 my grandfather passed in Idaho. My sister and I were making our way home through Carson city when a wonderful local was driving approximately 80 MPH through a snow storm. He smack a pile of snow and smashed the front end of my car. Luckily I was able to limp my car to a local motel 6 for the night until the tire shop opened in the morning. When we arrived the guys here took care of my car no questions asked earning my business. Treating us with respect and integrity. Fast forward to present day. On a family vacation to South Lake Pothole (I mean Tahoe). Jon took great care of my girlfriend and I when we were the victims of 3 flat tires between our two cars. I'm not going to get into specifics. He had a big smile on his face while telling me to leave because there were people there waiting for six hours. I went to Costco and they immediately helped me and only took two minutes to scan and fix the issue. Something is wrong with your guy Jon. The way he acted when I just needed a little help. It's not like I was asking to get tires installed, I just needed a TPMS scan. It almost seemed like he was getting happier to tell me that he wouldn't help me and to leave the store. Well right after I give Discount tire a recommendation, they decided to f me over, The inside of the rear tire is bald after 20k miles. (not an alignment issue), they won't honor the treadwear warranty, even though there is a lot of treadwear left on the rest of the tire. They are blaming the fact that it is a performance car. Complete BS, they recommended the tires, yet when they fail after 20 k miles, and they say it's the cars fault. On the way home i remembered that this was very similar to what happened last time when i went to pick up the car. It was about $300 too much, they said oh yeah, we forgot to add the treadwear adjustment. Costco here i come. I had to go with a different tire at Costco, but it is $300 cheaper than what Discount tire sales it for. read more

Ohhh no...walking out of a local box store at closing on a Sunday only to find our back passenger tire flat to the rim. The local store was kind enough to assist us by putting our spare on instead of calling for a tow home. Fast forward to Monday morning search online to verify what time Discount Tires opens to find "Make an Appointment" available with flat tire as an option. Did the clouds part, stars align and...wait I'm getting ahead of myself LOL Now where was I...oh yes, appointment booked, then called when they opened spoke to Jon who was set my mind at ease with not only my appointment being set, but our tires were in stock just in case anddd our original purchase was in their system showing our warranty on the tires. Went to my scheduled appointment met with Jon showed him tire, no damage to the rim, the lovely spare that was currently on the car and explained what happened...pesky screw in the tire...darn it!! The staff repaired the tire, rotated the tires, reset the low pressure warning lights, went over everything they did to include reassuring me that the tire was good to go for the remainder of the life of the tire/warranty. I telephoned on a Friday and spoke with tire associate Shue. He looked up my vehicle and tire size and asked me how we use our Jeep wrangler and how many miles per year I explained that we are snow birds and it is only occasionally used off road with very low miles per year. He found me tires that were 1/2 the price that I saw elsewhere. He told me to arrive early Saturday morning and they would slip me in even though they were fairly booked up. I arrived before they were open. The staff let me in to use the restroom. Shue waited on me at opening and invoiced me exactly as he told me the day before. He said the new tires would be fully balanced and prepped before mounting. I walked away to get breakfast fully expecting Discount Tire to take more than an hour. My phone text beeped before I was half way through breakfast that my car was ready. I walked back and signed out with my car and new tires. I've never had a more pleasant, horrible experience than I had with this shop. While they were screwing up nearly every aspect of my service, they were all very kind and friendly about it, and everyone had a great attitude. It started when they swapped my Winter tires out for some all seasons. And threw away my perfectly good winter tires that only had a single season on them. They promised they'd get them back. Many weeks later, they admitted that they were lost forever. They did, appropriately, agree to replace them with new winter tires when the season came back around. When it came time to change the all seasons that they had put in (due to natural wear, it was just time) I naturally had that done at another shop. We learned then that this Discount Tire shop had actually put my front wheels and tires (smaller) on the rear, and the rears (larger) on the front. This probably contributed to excess wear leading to an earlier replacement, but I did not make an issue of *that-*. So winter has come around again and I called to arrange for them to put my new winter tires on. They had some trouble locating them and there was a bit of a delay (this is understandable and there are issues all over, I'm not complaining about that) , but I got an email confirming that my tires had arrived and my appointment date and time. My wife and I had to do some schedule swapping and arrange a specific day off of work to make the appointment happen. On the morning the appointment was scheduled, I got a call from the shop telling me that actually they only had three of my tires, not 4, and that they'd let me know when the fourth one came in! I do t know how or why they sent me an email confirming that they had my tires and I should come for my appointment in the first place. A few days later I got the call the 4th tire was in, and I got to the shop and they put them on (all 4, fronts on the front and rears on the rear...I checked) without incident. They get a star for having pleasant attitudes throughout, and another for doing the right thing and replacing the tires they threw away, but there's a point where incompetence overwhelms good manners. I'd have a beer with those guys, but they won't get any more of my business. read more

Ended up with a screw in my tire during a storm and brought my truck here to see if it could either be repaired or get a new tire. The service guy, Nate, was extremely professional, attentive and forthcoming about what they could do for me. Came into Carson City Discount Tire because I had purchased a couple of tires a few weeks ago for my 2018 Honda Accord and my TPMS dash light was coming on. Wait in the lobby was a little long but once I was seen the service was excellent. They had me pull my car up and they checked my tires for proper psi.
