    Stripped oil pan, not good
    Tim R.

Have always had our vehicles serviced by certified mechanics. I needed an oil change on our 2007 Toyota Tacoma and our regular mechanic couldn't get me in for two weeks, so I decided to go to Jiffy Lube #3389 in Carson City, NV. Watching the techs work didn't give me confidence, bouncing between multiple bays instead focusing on one vehicle at a time, but they were polite, and the price was reasonable. When I took our Tacoma to our regular mechanic for the next oil change, he immediately found that the oil pan had been completely stripped of all threads at the last service due to incorrect drain plug installation and my truck was out of commission and stuck on his lift until he could install a new oil pan. Jiffy Lube's doing. My mechanic also said I was extremely lucky the plug held otherwise I'd be looking at a new engine instead of just an oil pan. I authorized the repair, $475, so my vehicle was functional so I could go to work and my mechanic could get my truck off his lift. Upon hearing about the damage caused by Jiffy Lube I immediately opened a claim with customer service over the phone. The operator made it clear that all Jiffy Lube service centers are independently owned and operated, meaning the parent company wasn't likely going to take responsibility. Next I drove to the Jiffy Lube that damaged our truck to talk with the manager, show him the oil pan and plug and discuss the process to resolve my claim. He didn't appear interested, was not helpful. Upon arriving home I sent documentation and pictures to Jiffy Lube customer service replying to the confirmation email with my claim number sent to me when I opened my claim. Customer service promptly replied they updated my case and will share my comments with Griffin Fast Lube Nevada, LLC. the franchisee entity which operates the Jiffy Lube service center store responsible. I'm now waiting, hoping to hear something from the operator in next few days, but honestly don't expect to. If not, I'll pursue a decision in court. Recommend using actual certified mechanics not quick lube centers to work on your vehicles.

Got a deal through Group on otherwise I would do it myself! It would be nice to just get an oil change without the up sell.

Virgil, who I think is the manager, is very nice and even remembered me from my last visit before scanning my car.

Been coming here for years since probably like 2014 or so? Service here is pretty straightforward…read moreand quick. Staff have always been generally knowledgeable and straight shooters with questions and what not. Think only once I've had a problem which was the oil filter not being put on tight enough but all it took was a quick tightening. Never hurts to watch em work or check stuff after a visit at any place!

On February 23rd of 2026 I went to get an oil change. Quick and easy, left around 30 minutes later…read more 3 days later I notice at work a giant oil puddle where I normally park. I come home, look on the ground of my parking spot and sure enough another massive oil puddle. I make my way to the store to have my leak fixed, and on the way my car throws out a DTC for my powertrain. When I get there I explain the issue, and they begin to "fix" the leak. About 30 minutes later I get a text from an unknown number to an aftermarket oil filter cap on Amazon. Unbeknownst to me at the time it was the store manager's personal number. He told me that my oil cap filter was broken, that it was made of cheap plastic and was only supposed to last 60,000 miles(my car is at 96,000), that their supplier didn't have the OEM piece, and that it was $140.00 at Hyundai, so I should buy the one he sent me and they would install it once I'd receive it. I went home and immediately called Hyundai to double check that the information given to me was correct. The person I talked to said that my oil filter cap was rated to last at least 150,000 miles, and that the only way to break it was to tighten it too much or install it incorrectly. My car was still leaking oil when I left the Castrol shop, and so I was unable to drive it until I could have it inspected at Hyundai for the powertrain DTC almost 2 weeks after this. Luckily there was no damage, but to perform the diagnostic inspection they had to perform an oil change anyway. So not only was a piece damaged while at Castrol for the original oil change, but I had to get another oil change to perform the diagnostic inspection at Hyundai, making the original appointment useless, not to mention the store manager seemingly trying to cover up the damage to my oil filter cap. I called the store manager's business number twice to attempt to at least get a refund for my original oil change with no response, so then I call Castrol Corporate who say that there's nothing they can do except contact the store owner and give them my information. It's been 1 week since I called Castrol Corporate and the store owner has yet to contact me. In fact, corporate emailed me with a follow up to ensure I had been contacted before I actually was. Now I must take this matter to my bank and have the charge disputed. Refunding me is the least Castrol can do especially since it cost me much more to have my car inspected, oil changed again and the oil filter cap replaced, and if they can't even do that then I'll get my money back myself. I would never recommend this location or even this company ever, and I will never return. This whole issue could have cost me thousands more if I hadn't done my research and acted quickly.

You know that auto mechanic you'd always hope you'd find, someone that knows your cars (and you),…read moredoes great work, doesn't take forever, and charges a fair price? Well, we found him. His name is Ron, and he's the guy behind Daily Driven Per4mance. We first encountered Ron through Yelp--we were looking for local auto mechanics to look over our 20-year-old car which was having a power steering problem. Ron gave us an estimate and timeframe over Yelp for looking at our car that was within our budget and timeframe. He took a look at the car and diagnosed a problem that would cost $1500 to fix--but he didn't charge us for the inspection itself. Instead, we promised him that we would bring the car we were planning to buy to replace our old car for him to look over. And that we did--we bought a used car as a replacement, a car we were very happy with, and a car which needed an oil change. We brought it to Ron for an oil change and a general inspection. He got both jobs done within a few hours, and he charged us a fair price for the service. (And he says we got ourselves a nice used car.) We did get us a nice car--and a nice mechanic to boot. Next time you're looking for quality auto service, get a hold of Daily Driven Per4mance! Highly recommended.
