It was our first time using the auto repair shop. It was easy to get an appointment in to service a maintenance service light and oil change on our Mercedes E450. Miquel was upfront with cost and communicated well during the time it was in for service. We were informed of a possible leak and once throughly cleaned off and driven a bit. The leak didn't appear, so they will monitor it once I'm in for next service date. What I liked about shop, it's clean, staff are helpful and professional. It has dog treats for my dog, as I use the daycare next to it. So very convenient. All in all price was good for job done. Removal of Intoxalock device. On 2/6/2026 called PAC to make appointment for removal. They said it was $510.02 (which we paid) & put us off for a couple of days to removed. Today, 2/11/2026 went in because of battery failure (do to Intoxalock) new battery less than a year old & purchase from PAC, now they want another $250.00 to remove Intoxalock? This is taking advantage of us. What was the $510.02 for, nothing but a bunch of lipservice from the Manager. Never use these folks, they are NOT HONEST!! read more

Service guys were ok. However, I asked them to fix a coolant leak. I told them it lost 5 Gallons out of my RV. They only found 2 small leaks and charged me $1400 for it and other work. Later we drove to the coast and there was a huge leak that covered the entire back and my tow car. The place we took it to said they should have checked the water pump bearings! See video below. The pump seal finally went out which a new pump cost another $2000!!! The Carson owner said they checked the Rv for everything but the picture of the belt below shows wear and it was too coincidental that the failure was right after they finished. My usually dependable Chevy SUV leaked a pink oily fluid from the engine area. Confused by various opinions, I called Performance Auto. Mauricio answered IN PERSON, (not a triage recording) and suggested that I bring the SUV in to determine what was leaking. Within a few minutes, his mechanic found the source of the leak. Some minor work was completed and more coolant was added. To summarize, within 30 minutes without an appointment, I have a car that's safe to drive. Took 2019 highlander in to get an oil change and rotate tires- no biggie right? $700 and some new rear brakes (brakes were needed) I Picked up car and drove home...heard noise in front end-driver side-which wasn't there before. Took it to a friend's shop on the same day to find out what was wrong since I no longer trusted PAC. It cost me an additional $200 to make sure they hadn't messed up any of the other services I had required and to have lug nuts re-tightened CORRECTLY. The mechanic "Dustin" from PAC had not tightened the lug nuts!!! What the F____! I drive a handicapped child and my grandchildren in that car. Let's just say I WASNT happy. I called and spoke to Mauricio who was very helpful and said they owed me an oil change or two and then told me the owner (Nick) would be calling me the NExT DAY!!. Ha! NEVER HEARD From ANYBODY there AGAIN!!! So now I'm out $900 total all because of some lazy ass mechanic who was in too much of hurry to get it done. It's so good to know no one at this establishment gives a rats ass about customer service or quality or value. This shop has amazing customer service for first time customers. November 2015, Nick was helpful and explained everything. I trusted them because of him. Well.... 3 years later. My diesel pickup won't coldstart in beginning of winter. So I take my rig to get evaluated at 2 separate shops. Both say it's the glow plugs. And I say it can't be! ALL 8 were just replaced by PAC in Carson in 2015. I call them to double check their work and they were extremely rude and harsh over the phone. PAC won't stand behind their work, Only because it's a 2 year warranty provided. Not 3..... Do NOT make the same mistake of trusting this shop to do good work. Cheap replacement parts and shoddy work performed. I recommend all to stay away and use a well known repair shop. read more

So, I was driving down Spooner Summit and heard and awful noise emitting from the undercarriage of my truck. A control arm was dangling below my chariot bolt/nut combination stripped out and was lost somewhere along my journey. I'm on a road-trip 700 miles from home. very poor quality of work. took car in to try and figure out noise from the alternator belt area. they decided to put new belts on (which did not fix the noise) and in the process did not tighten the mounting pivot bolt. I brought the car home, next morning the belts are screeching when I started the car. my husband had to go in and adjust the tension of the belts to specs and tightened the bolts . This was the alternator/air conditioning belt and the power steering belt. we had a leak from the transfer case and their mechanic said the leak was from the oil filter. my husband had to go down there and while the car was up on the rack had to show them where the leak was. Took us a month to get my car in and to be honest I got the impression they really didn't want to work on my car. poor customer service, we had to initiate all communication with them. No calls from them Regarding updates on car. I gave them 1 star because they did put the correct belts on the car. I do not recommend this shop. $110 for labor and my husband had to take tire off to reach bolts and spent an hour fixing what they should have done. my husband is a 70 years old retire mechanic and did not want to work on cars anymore but was forced to do the work because this all happened on Friday and I needed my car to go out of town first thing Monday morning. read more

I took my diesel over to Steve to have my EGR inspected along with any other preventative maintenance that was needed. Upon picking up my truck they did not have the old EGR for me to inspect. I have always inspected the old parts when they come off. I was told it was very greasy so they threw it away. A few years later I take my classic car over to get it dialed in. I made a appointment for drop off and expecting a phone call with a update at least by the 3rd day but no one called. I finally call and ask for a update and Mauricio says he will call me back in 2 business days. Finally after 9 business days I call again and ask about my classic car and what is going on. To my surprise I find out not only have they not looked at my car but they also left my car in the snow outside the whole time. (I miss Heller transmission... he was awesome!) After I told them I was picking up my car within the hour Steve the owner gives me a call and says he was busy working on a more expensive car so my car would not be inside. When I set up the appointment for 2 weeks out it was because I was told my car would be stored inside. Then Mr. arrogant told me he was the only one that could fix my car in CC. LOL... Then Steve said that he didn't know who I was and I wasn't a regular customer ? I didn't know I needed a special pass to get Steve the great to work on my car. If you are new to the area avoid going to this business. If you are a regular customer of PAC you are probably paying more than the work is worth, plenty of good shops around like Bob's Shell (does save the parts) or Carson Service Center (busy but professional and timely). I took my 1998 F150 to get the brake shoes replaced, I thought. They had gotten very hot several times in the past. I assumed they were worn out. Wrongo, I get a call from the shop that the shoes and drums did not need replacing, we agreed if it ain't broke don't fix it. I asked them to bleed the system. When I picked up the truck they had bled the brakes and taken the back brakes apart, cleaned and adjusted them. They work great. The bill of $133 was entirely reasonable. read more

Fixed my truck and it took them forever to even get it in to have the work done on it. I worked in the auto industry for years and told them what needed to be repaired. They still charged me a "diagnosis " fee and even though I asked about the shocks and struts they came back and told me I needed rear shocks. Duh! I know. But nothing was mentioned about the struts. I was installing new fog lights and thought I would inspect the struts. Well guess what. They a shot and close to breaking. Over priced and not very efficient. Will be looking for a different place to take it for the repairs I can no longer do. read more

Dont know why these people gave 1 star. I've been coming here for a year multiple times because I bought a truck with more problems than I thought. Always nice, my belt fell off when i was in Reno and they sent a guy to fix it the next day. Never jerk me on price, an even reminded me about the warranty they gave me when i forgot and if they were grimey could have jerked me for 400 dollars but didnt. Sometimes it's hard to get your car worked on quickly but that is because they are so busy all the time. I like this place a lot, and am about to bring my truck in in a hour. After my most recent experience with Performance Auto Care, I am extremely disappointed with both their skill level and their treatment of me as a formerly loyal customer. I would warn any potential customer, especially Class A motor homes owners with large Cummins diesels, to proceed with caution. They are lacking the Cummins Insite analytic software that saves a lot of trial and error. Trial and error at $110 per hour can get very expensive. read more

However, they lacked professionalism in dealing with customers on the phone with being short when questions were asked. They also overcharged prices on parts (even more than dealerships asking prices). Their labor is also over priced for doing little to no work. As we headed to Heavenly from SF, we noticed a headlamp was out. I called these guys the day before to make an appt and so they could order the part. As a city slicker with CA plates driving a Mercedes, I expected to get taken advantage of. Not with these guys. I was charged $700 for them to replace and install my oil cooler that they said was leaking. I was willing to pay this much because of all of their good reviews. My car started smoking again the next day and when I took it back in, they said it was coming from a gasket and that the o rings needed to be replaced. They quoted me another $600. I took it in to another auto place the next day, and it turns out the leak wasn't coming from that area at all, but underneath and there was a huge mess of oil, so much so that I needed to clean the undercarriage of my car for them to pinpoint where the leak was coming from. This scam was most likely because I am a young woman who they assumed knew nothing about cars. I am extremely disappointed and will not be bringing my business back to them again. read more
