Went here for a landscaping project for my backyard and picked up 2 tons of cobblestone. I showed up in a Uhaul which is hard for them to load since they use a loader tractor to dump the rocks into your vehicle, so open topped vehicles like pickups are the norm, but the operator was super careful. He took it as a challenge and gently got the tractor bucket into the Uhaul opening, slowly dropped the rock, and carefully pulled the bucket back out of the Uhaul. He did this twice and didn't even touch the Uhaul truck itself. I was very impressed. Crystal was also very helpful and nice as a salesperson! read more

We were told the owner changed his mind about honoring their contest since we weren't a large customer & the weekend wasn't as profitable as they had hoped. They wasted our time and broke our daughter's heart. She waited the day of the game for our tickets to arrive (our prize) in her Broncos jersey only to realize we were dooped. I realize there are many more important travesties in the world but that doesn't mean customer service isn't important!! My front yard looks like a superfund site. I ordered 5 yards of fill DIRT from DLM Landscaping. When I purchased it, they explained that the dirt will have debris in it. I've been in or near the construction and excavating world nearly all my life. I expected poor quality, sandy dirt, rocks and a good bit of trash. I expected that, with a bit of labor and amending, it would be fine for xeroscaping. What I got was sandy road salt. I mean A LOT of salt. Old Testament, Smite-Your-Enemies amounts of salt. There is so much salt that it turned alabaster white after it rained. I had spread some of it within a couple of feet of an established tree and it is killing the tree. I've left multiple messages requesting a manager/owner over the past weeks without a call back. When someone picks up the phone, I get some variation of "that's what you get with fill dirt". Are you kidding me??? NO! There is a big difference between dirt and salt. If you don't know that, you have no business being anywhere near landscaping materials. read more

Great company. Needed some planting soil to fill up my above-ground planters. Originally was going to have delivered but that option went away since I lagged on placing my order; once business picks up and everyone is trying to plan their gardens (i.e., early May), they'll only deliver for a 3 yard minimum order. Too much soil for me, so... I ended up driving out to Arvada to pick it up. You can place your order and pay over the phone before heading out there, then call from the parking lot and they'll send the front loader over to fill up your truck bed with your order. The front loader driver, Jay, was awesome - he took one look at my pickup truck and helpfully informed me that a yard and a half of their 60/40 planter's mix was NOT going to fit in the bed of my truck. He recommended I watch the truck bed to back wheel clearance as he slowly dumped in the soil to make sure my truck could handle the weight. Good looking out by Jay, since I had him stop pouring at about 3/4 of a yard, took that load home, and then came back later in the day to pick up the remainder. Buying in bulk is WAY cheaper than picking up individual bags at the hardware store if you need a lot of soil, and the folks at DLM will hook you up proper. read more

I've never made a raised garden ever and have never planted in Colorado, so doing both of these things made me nervous. The raised boxes were made and DLM delivered promptly the amended 60/40 planting soil. I got confused as it was so dry, but once watered it turned really wet. I spoke with Cory at DLM and he instructed us to mix some construction sand with it so allow for better draining. We also have left over soil pep and he said adding that will help also. I am excited to see what will grow this year. When you make an investment like this, you want it to turn out right, I'm thankful that DLM has great customer service. Thanks guys. read more

Lots of them. Unfortunately, they are of the grass and weed variety. Evidently, this mix wasn't very clean. The dirt was put in 2 raised beds and a planter. The vegetation is unlike anything in the yard and my existing raised bed doesn't have any of the growth that the dirt from this place had. Very disappointed that I'll likely be fighting this battle all year. read more

They advertised "Free dirt" on Craigslist. I purchased 20 yards of dirt for $100. They deliver 10 yards, then after dumping it someone calls me and tries to make me pay another $100 for the second delivery!! I tell them no way to that, and I leave the conversation thinking I will have to reverse the credit card charges. Then 15 minutes later the second truck comes and delivers the rest of the dirt. I guess that's an effort to make it right, but I really don't seek that kind of drama. I won't use them again. read more

Where to get landscape rocks in the winter? Denver Landscape Supply that is! I called all over town for black 'riprap' lava rocks for a detention pond and was amazed on the amount of places not stocking this time of year. I know it's the off season, yet it's Denver. If you can golf here year round you should be able to fix up the front yard as well. The customer service here is outstanding which isn't always expected at a materials yard, yet is what is driving me to commend them on their help. read more

Very poor customer service . We drove up to the lot at 3pm. The message on their machine says they close at 4:00pm. I had also spoken to a gentleman earlier in the day indicating we would like to get rock that day. The gate was closed and locked at 3pm and no one answered my phone calls. If a business says they are open until 4pm then they should be. Very disappointed in this business as we had a trailer for the day. We went to pioneer sand company instead. We live about 20 miles away from the business. I had searched all over for the items our landscape designer wanted. I came across Denver Landscaping Materials. I asked the staff and owner Steve if he could supply and deliver within a couple of days. He did and our gardens look fantastic now. I had delivered stones for the borders, sod for our new lawn, a water feature and also slabs for a pathway. I can't believe the good reviews here, they are liars and thieves. I ordered 9 yards of expensive mulch and they delivered 3 yards. When I called them about it Corey told me I was wrong and tried to mansplain to me what 9 yards looks like. He finally came over to our house and agreed that they had probably shorted us a few yards which they would send over, but I had to pay the $65 delivery fee AGAIN to get it. What's worse, when they did deliver the few yards, it was a way huger pile than the supposed 9 yards I ordered. And the mulch I did get was full of huge dirt clumps and rocks. They are the worst!
