Selection of firewood comes and goes, sometimes they have what you need sometimes it's all out. And this is in summer not the middle of winter. Lots of bark coverage on the wood, it's not real "clean". read more

Good selection. Pricier than Silver Crown. Spent time on the phone with one young woman who was very helpful and said I'd need about 3/4 of a ton of rock. No mention of a minimum for delivery. I went over, looked at samples and when I went in the sales office was told I had to order a minimum of two tons. I don't need that much. This other woman said I could come pick it up (you can tell by looking at me that I am a small, 70+ woman). I said I don't have a truck. This same woman said I could load it in my car - 72, post shoulder repair - up to 500 pounds at a time in garbage cans. How am I supposed to lift that in and out of the car even assuming I can shovel that many garbage can loads? Shrugged her shoulders. NOT HELPFUL! I'll be buying elsewhere! read more

Very busy on the weekends, kind of a mad house in terms of organization about the place with trucks/trailers/everyone driving in all directions but it was surprisingly easy to navigate with a little patience. We went on a Saturday morning and everyone in the office was very help with clear instructions. The guys driving the bulldozers will help load and unload, one of them even helped us shovel gravel back when we realized we got the wrong one! I ordered two tons of stones to fill in my gravel driveway. I ordered 3/4 inch. Instead 2-4 inch rocks were delivered. I did not notice until they had been dumped. These do NOT fill in well in my driveway. Not well at all. They were to split the difference in the cost because of this mistake. But every time I go to use these large rocks, I am bothered and they are not settling in well. Be very careful to check what you have ordered. I will not use them again. read more

This place has it all for anything you are trying to do with rocks in your landscaping plans. Pretty decent prices with of course home delivery included. Could you imagine a 1 ton rock on top of your car hauling it home. I could make that video go viral! Haha I got this rock for our front yard for $95. It weighs a ton and I got a ton of smaller rock to surround it for total of $315 with delivery. Not bad considering a landscaping business wanted to do it for $1000! Ha People there were great and try to help you out when they are not so busy. I almost wanted to jump in on of the big rigs and do it myself but I though better of it. People are very friendly there and I will be coming back many more times. Keep up the good work and get more cool fountain features. That's the money maker there! read more

Our landscaper gave us some mulch and rock ideas for our front yard and we drove out to Santa Fe Sand & Gravel to see the suggestions in person. Mr. P. got a map and price list from the office and we walked around to look and make our decisions. I was happy to see that everything in the place was nicely organized and clearly labeled. We easily found the rocks and mulch we were looking for because they were marked with big numbers and matched the information on the map. We also took a walk through the idea center just to gawk. I'm guessing that if you can't find something to suit your fancy among the huge selection of paver stones and decorative rocks then what you're looking for might not exist. Once we ordered the materials, Santa Fe made delivery arrangements with us. They gave us an approximate time frame and called an hour ahead on delivery day to let us know they were on the way. We had a split load of the mulch and some dirt in the same truck and the split load fee was $80. That seems pretty reasonable to me, especially considering the materials didn't get mixed together at all. Overall, their prices seem pretty competitive and we were very pleased with the service. Even though Santa Fe Sand & Gravel is farther away from our house than another "sand and gravel" place we've purchased from before, we will come here first should we have any future landscaping material needs. read more

This is a great place to buy your landscaping rock. I called, gave them the square footage of the area I needed covered, they gave me the tonnage which I thought was way more than I needed but they it turned out they were spot on. There was an issue with the type of rock that I ordered but the lady I spoke to on the phone was kind enough to take the time to text me a photo of the rock that was available & it worked out great. That's what I call great customer service. I've used this company in the past which is why I used them now and wouldn't hesitate to use them again. This is a national company and the landscape rock on their website may not be available in the Denver metro area. My advice is to take the time, go to their yard and check for what you need. We needed a large boulder moved from one location on our property to another. We called Santa Fe and they arranged for one of their subcontractors to stop by when they were in the area (which was the very next day!) and move the boulder for us. Took less than an hour and the price was a fraction of what we had received a quote for from another contractor. The boulder was 1 1/2 tons and the entire process took less than an hour. I am so grateful to Santa Fe for making arrangements for this -- they made no money on it because we paid the subcontractor directly, but they arranged it for us anyway! We had a large amount of premium dirt delivered for our garden beds last summer. It turned out there was an issue with the dirt and Ewing not only refunded us but also replaced the dirt for us! They were so friendly and easy to work with. We could have had a major loss on our hands had this been from a different company, but Ewing cared enough to make it right! Their customer service is absolutely amazing! What an outstanding company - we highly recommend!! read more

My husband called a requested two tons of crushed granite to be delivered from bin #2. He went in person and visually confirmed on Thursday that it was the correct rock. Apparently CDOT uses that a lot in construction, so some time between Thursday, when he called to arrange, and Friday when it was loaded, they sold all of it to CDOT. They arrived at my house with grey pebbles that were not what we ordered. Instead of telling us they we're out and rescheduling delivery, they tried to pass of rock from another bin. They will not refund delivery or reschedule for the right rock to be delivered, we have to call everyday to check. I'm out $90 delivery fee for their negligence. read more

We've worked with Santa Fe gravel twice with excellent service and results. Considering I was a new homeowner with no landscape experience, Santa Fe really made things easy! The first time we came in on a busy Saturday we had a billion questions and although we waited a bit once we got in front of a rep they addressed all concerns. We bought some flagstone and also a large delivery of gravel for a xeriscape project. I was particularly impressed with the efficiency of their delivery process. I'm so used to being jerked around by companies like Comcast that when they called when they said they would, and then showed up when they said they would- I was so relieved! We called again a couple weeks ago for a second, much larger delivery of 2 different gravels to finally complete the front yard. Again, they did everything right. But here's the best part: we forgot to use a 10% coupon :( on a full truckload that would have saved some big $$ so we call back after delivery, after we already paid, and they said no problem we'll give you the credit back. If I have any other landscape needs I know who to call! read more

This place offers s huge varity of crushed rock and beautiful stone. It seems to be a family run business where everyone coordinate and chatters as one would as a close knit group. I wish we had something like this in the Sam Francisco Bay Area. For those first time customers, I suggest drop the sense of entitlement, demonstrate common courtesy to staff, admit you know little or nothing, and be nice. These folks work 7 days a week, are knowledgeable, and respond to a smile and kind in like manner. You'll get great service and and maybe even a "hun" thrown in. If you insist on an Apple Store experience, there's one a mile away. However, I'll assure they know nothing about landscaping materials. read more

I would give Santa Fe Sand & Gravel negative stars if I could. The woman who answers the phone has no clue how to listen or what customer service actually is. Had a terrible time trying to get a quote on the delivery fee for a few items and she was so rude I barely got the order finalized with her. Not sure why I went through with it, should have just hung up on her, but called back within 10 minutes to cancel the order anyway. No way would I support this business and financially reward them for her demeanor. She seemed surprised when I told her we found better customer services and prices elsewhere. These guys run about double everyone else on the materials we were after. read more

I didn't find them very useful in helping me come up with any designs or anything like that. Get a landscape architect for that stuff, and then hit up Sante Fe for the materials. These folks are amazing! My fiance and I took on building a retaining wall and rock add on to our drive way. It took four weekends so we got to know the folks at Santa Fe folks pretty well. They are all so helpful, can answer any question you throw at them AND they always offer their best opinion, which was very helpful to us because we had no clue what we were doing. The prices are great and they allow you to bring back product if you do not use it all. They also offer free classes on these types of projects and my fiance learned a lot! read more

I've never been to a place with big rocks for sale. It was pretty cool! The guys in the office were really helpful, and they were super-nice to me even though I probably stood out like a female new to buying big rocks. Nobody bugged me as I wandered around and looked at stuff. I grabbed a few brochures, took a few photos, and came back on Saturday for the free "Installing Pavers" class at 9am. It was extremely informative, and I'm glad I got up early on a Saturday to attend! Even if I hire someone to install my pavers (or paver-patio, or retaining wall - those were covered, too) I'm happy that I learned the basics for myself. This way, I'll be able to tell if the installers know what they're doing, or if they're trying to cut corners and rip me off. read more

I have been dealing with Santa Fe Sand and Gravel for over 15 years and I have never been more satisfied. I recently order and had delivered 10 tons of gravel. The driver was extremely courteous, spread the gravel out so that it didn't block the street, and thanked me for my order. This past Saturday, I went down to get some additional Mexican Beach Pebbles and lawn edging and again, everyone was very nice and extremely helpful. Need landscape materials delivered? We have used this company for several years now. This summer (2017) we had a problem with what they delivered and they were very willing to correct the problem. Within days they sent out two different trucks, one to deliver a new load and the other to pick up the load that we were dissatisfied with. I would not recommend doing business with this company. They delivered the wrong material twice! The first delivery was the correct color gray but the wrong material. A new order was placed for delivery the following day, as the material was being dump from the truck it was hard to tell the color, but became clear that it was the correct material this time but the wrong color. I spoke to the office manager and it came down to a he said/she said...they claim that they confirmed the color and I can PROMISE you that there is no way we would have accepted anything other than the gray material that we ordered. The amazing this is that to pick up the material is a $75 + $150 an hour...which = more than the cost of the material. I went to the office to discuss the problem and was essentially dismissed without an resolution. The moral of the story is that you should verify that material your want and ordered is what is being delivered. Also, if there is a problem, do not expect any help from the management or sales group. They are not helpful or willing to fix a mistake they place blame on the customer and refuse to do anything other than charge additional fees. read more
