We made an appointment for hand railing. This has to be the worst sales experience I have had. The salesman did not introduce himself or make any effort at all. The salesman sat in the chair and said ok. Did not move, no recommendations. We had to ask him to show us examples. He did not want to be there or help us. The place was empty. Very negative atmosphere. They charge 2% for a credit card fee and have "additional fees" line in their quote. Go get a materials list and leave. Customer service/relations is non-existent. I shopped around looking for the best place to buy my decking material from and settled on the Deck Superstore. I went in with a napkin sketch in hopes that I could walk through the material needed for my deck. Design and quote of the deck seemed to go fine until I received my material. Once the deck was framed and I started going through the composite decking I quickly found out that 1/2 of the material was delivered as square edge instead of grooved. The person I worked with and one of the sales managers told me it was my mistake for not reviewing the quote provided by the person I sat down with to design my deck. Because of this error I had to return the decking (added costs and a hassle since there were 20' long pieces) and pay a 10% return fee (again not my error when the designer inserted the wrong material in the quote). Also wanted to mention that when I went to return and pick up the correct boards it took 2.5 hours waiting at the store. When the return came back to me the cost was 6 boards short and when I asked why they noted 6 of the boards were damaged beyond repair. I would hope that by moving the decking twice 17% of the boards would become damage beyond repair but that is what I was told without any pictures or proof. I called and emailed the manager for a week trying to get some clarity on the damaged boards and how this is my fault but didn't get to talk to anyone for a week. I then sent to the store and waited 20 minutes to talk to the manager. At that point I asked to see the boards and they could only locate 4 of them and the boards had little if no damage to them. The manager stated they would locate all of the boards and look them over again. Today they told me 2 of the 6 boards can be repaired (likely the 2 they couldn't find). I will be picking up these boards and praying they did not mess up any other portions of the order. Save yourself some time and money and shop elsewhere. read more

I just completed a deck that I bought from the deck super store. I went there twice on Saturdays in the spring, and the place was pretty much packed. I got just the right amount of attention. For me that's giving me space to look around the showroom, that's right they have a deck show room! where you can see all several decks displays. They also have a "test" center outside where the decking has been put in the bright sun for several years or whenever a new product comes out they build a small display and set it outside. Everyone knows that the deck will look the best day it's done but I want to know how it's going to look in five years they have decks that have been out there for five years with no maintenance and you can see how they look. The other reviews that said that they didn't have helped must've walked past the large reception area. I am an experienced do it yourselfer meaning I used to build decks professionally 20 years ago. So I may be rusty but I know what to look for. I will say this I have never in the 2-300 decks that I built ever saw a deck pack delivery more organized more secure with less damage than this deck pack. Every board was delivered in perfect shape. None of the boards had been damaged. they even cut little boards to fit the bands that hold all of it together. I bought the Trex transcend deck and rail system. So many little parts and pieces. (Quite a system) Trex shorted me 8 little brackets ( these are pre packaged and sealed so I am not blaming the store.) it was late on Saturday when I was finishing up the deck and realize that I was missing these so I ran over to Home Depot to see if they had them because they sell Trex decking they have a big display. The Home Depot lady told me it would take two weeks to get the eight little parts to finish my deck. If I had ordered the deck back from them I would be really upset but I know the deck superstore has the parts in stock. Lastly this is a family owned business and I believe one of the only deck superstores in the whole country. Quite a innovative concept. Denver is lucky to have it read more

Completed my Deck this past week. Purchased all the materials from the Deck Superstore and very pleased with the results. We took in a hand drawn plan this Spring. Took delivery of materials in May. Everything I needed was included. I have only a few items in excess. I returned twice for advice and was supported with professional answers. This store has many options for composite materials and even a display of various products outside showing how they weather over the years. This is a truly outstanding business judging from the two times I have used them. I bought redwood for a pergola project, as well as hardware, and was able to trade in two boards that I found were not as uniform as the others with no problem. Everyone was prompt and courteous, and the selection and prices are great. They have sizes of redwood you can't easily get anywhere else, such as 2 x 8 x 20. Note, I almost gave them a 5 star review (I am very stingy with those), but I had to hold back. I need more interaction to evaluate and determine to put it up another star, but it was so close. read more

Although I have been a satisfied customer before, this current purchase was unsatisfactory. I attempted to purchase a four quarter (full one inch thick) cedar deck boards of the exact type displayed on the showroom floor. I was offered a less expensive alternative being S1E2 mean smooth on face and 2 edges. The salesperson confirmed this would also be a full inch and further without any cracked boards. The order was written up, however as 1 x 6 which is a nominal designation of typically true size of 3/4 inch. I further attempted clarification on whether this meant 3/4 or full inch and again it was confirmed a full inch. Upon delivery of order boards were tightly packed in shrink wrap and could not check it onsite. When home and unwrapped saw that the boards were 13/16 and two boards were cracked. No reply from sales person as yet. read more

DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THESE CROOKS!!! These turds use the classic "Bait & Switch" sales approach to rip off the unsuspecting public. They quoted me a great price on a patio railing, which was the reason I went with their product. The railing was delivered on a pallet and the sales rep called me shortly after to tell me "he only sold me half of the wood I needed and it was his mistake and he'd sell me the rest of the wood at 10% off sticker price." This brought the price up well above the agreed-upon price. Stay away or do your homework, they will gouge you with a smile on their face! read more

My sister and I were in this store for over ten minutes and nobody offered to help us, nor did they even say hello or acknowledge us in any way. There were four or five salesmen and not one said anything, even when they walked right by us. They did talk to two men who came in after us though, I was prepared to spend thousands of dollars to finish off my deck, but I walked out instead. This review is about the awesome customer service I just received from Bob. I called the store in a panic, yesterday, regarding a paver product being used by my Builder. I realized I had picked the wrong color. My Builder was giving me a hard time about the timing of my change request which is why I decided to pursue getting the supplies on my own. In a matter of minutes, Bob was able to find out that his Distributor had what I needed and could get it delivered to my build site next day by the afternoon. He jumped through some serious hoops to take care of me and meet my schedule. He was pleasant and professional. This is the kind of customer service that is so hard to find these days. These clowns suck. Can't trust a thing Seth will tell you. Waited over 2 weeks for railing order to be completed. They called the day I was supposed to pick up and said delivery from mfr was delayed by a month. Contacted mfr. to find out why they missed the delivery date so bad. Got a call from Deck SS salesman hours later saying my order was complete(2 days after original planned delivery date-not a month later). Sooooo, I think they did get the delivery from the mfr and lied to me about it not coming in so they could sell this stuff to their deck building buddies. This order had been paid in full at time of order, btw so they were essentially selling already sold items. Prices aren't great, service completely sucks, there is no truth in what they tell you about delivery, have some really sketchy practices in supplying some customers, it's inconvenient to get to, and the website is a mess. Won't ever do business there again because I can't trust 'em. read more

Extremely helpful and friendly people . . . not sure what the negative reviews are all about but we had a great experience here. Highly recommended! We first went to a big box competitor and there was only one guy who knew how to help plan decks and, as such, he often was not there. It was always loud and chaotic and just not very nice. Also, the deck planning program they use there is a joke! They wanted us to put in 15 posts for our average size second level deck. Most people actually want to use the patio underneath their deck--impossible with a forest of posts ruining the space. We now have a comfortable 6 posts and our plans are approved with the building dept. :) Can't wait to have it all finished. read more
