On this day, I visited this Home Depot to grab a few things for my home. I was taken aback by a clerk scanning my items in the check-out line, but not completing the transaction with my card. I found this strange. What really got me was noticing that they only did this with the Black and POC individuals in line. Two white men checked out without help or having their items scanned for them. I talked to a manager who did the best he could to convey that this was of no concern. The store is also in disarray and finding help was a task. A frequent customer helped me to the things I needed. Terrible experience. Cannot recommend. read more

Choose a couple of fit people with good hearing that can jog around, answer quickly and correctly, then move on the the next person in need. This is genuinely the worst Home Depot I have ever set foot in and that's saying a lot. Nothing like asking an associate to unlock a power tool to purchase, and getting zero response. No nod, no verbal, no eye contact. I let him do his current task and then asked if he had heard me. "Yeah" as he walked away. It's obvious the place is chronically understaffed, the associates seem overworked and bedraggled. It's got to be almost as crappy a work environment as a shopping one. I went to Harbor Freight and got what I needed and was actively engaged by the employees there. Word to HD mgmt: treat customers like ghosts, and we'll ghost you. Walked in just moments ago to buy paint, moulding & cabinets for a home project. Stopped at the paint counter first, thinking I would give them time to prepare my order. Three men behind the counter (one saw me walk up in my bright yellow windbreaker); one eating, one shaking 7.25 sample & the other chatting about when he started working at that location. I waited. And waited. And waited. No acknowledgement what so ever. Walked away & voiced my dissatisfaction with a young lady in customer service. She proceeded to ask if I wanted her to tell the manager? This location is always hit or miss. There is no consistency in customer service. Sometimes you receive the most excellent care and other times it's like damn, if you don't like your job, please please please get a new one. Preferably one not in customer service! ROBERT in the paint/stain department has consistently been super helpful and friendly on multiple occasions. He has helped me with paint color questions, custom paint, stain and a plethora of other home improvement projects we've had over the years. He is a 5 star employee! If he doesn't know where something is or doesn't have a recommendation based on personal experience, he takes you to the right person/department that will. He goes the extra mile ALWAYS! Please give him a bonus and use him as an example for training your other less stellar employees. A++ The lady with shoulder length dark hair sitting on her ass in the shade/rug department that so rudely said to me "I don't know WHAT they have in hardware." They always have everything I need. The people are always nice. Today they honored my veteran status even though the way that they're honoring its is unclear from store to store (some want you to have your card on you, others want you to have it in their app; hard to know what to do). They will also accept returns even without a receipt and give you store credit, which is pretty cool. I love the Home Depot and cannot fathom why it has a 2* rating. That means that at best, half of the reviewers give it 1* and the other 3*. Which is nonsense! What are there a hardware store do you go to ever? What other options are there? read more

Rented a Home Depot truck (39th & Quebec, Denver) thru an employee named Michelle about a week ago to move a king sized mattress to a donation center. Michelle was unbelievably patient as we realized one of us didn't take their driver's license for the rental, the other's license was expiring this month and neither of us had a copy of our current auto insurance cards with us! Her pleasant demeanor and helpfulness never wavered as we made these discoveries one by one. I think we actually wasted more of her time trying to get out the door than we did then retrieving and delivering the mattress. Thank you Michelle (And we are again sorry) read more

This is actually insane... ordered a new dishwasher paid for in home set up these f***kers didn't hook anything up correctly. I run the dishwasher for the first time and it's leaking everywhere. Home Depot says they can't make it out until 5 days later to fix it. Well earlier this morning I heard water gushing out from under my kitchen sink. Soaked absolutely everything thank goodness I was home in order to shut off the water. I am a total DIY geek who normally loves home improvement stores. But, sadly, this particular store is the pits. The people that work there are nice, there just aren't enough of them to go around. And they're clearly fatigued from answering eleventy billion questions by the time I track someone down to answer mine. They lack any semblance of energy and enthusiasm. The lumber dept is a complete mess and you spend so much time searching for clean (not twisted or warped) wood that it doubles the time you budgeted to "make a quick run to Home Depot". Want to have some wood cut? Good luck finding anyone to do it. Even though you'll see 2-3 guys who work in that dept it seems as if Home Depot only shares the code to unlock the big saw with one person because everyone else in lumber will defer you to him. (Here's a hint: He's the guy with a 1/2 dozen customers already tailing him, so get in line.) My husband waited over an hour last week for someone to bring in more 2x4s because (inexplicably) they ran out. (It's 2x4s, people. That's like Chik-Fil-A running out of chicken.) I ended up calling Strait Lumber and they delivered everything we needed for only $15. (If only I could've also bought that wasted hour!) And perhaps I just have bad luck but I promise you 8 out of 10 items on my list will be out of stock. Every. Single. Time. They are constantly restocking inventory which should be a good thing, however, most of the time the inventory isn't being "actively" restocked, rather it's just sitting in the aisle, blocking access to what you need. B O T T O M L I N E : If you value your time, bypass this store and head to Strait Lumber or the Lowes on Wadsworth, which is always clean, well-stocked, and has wide aisles that aren't impeded with boxes, crates, or parked fork lifts. read more

What a hot mess. Barely any staff, and the staff they do have lack even the most basic knowledge, like where products are located. No checkers. Multiple self checkout stations broken due to non functional card readers and dead batteries in scanners. Next time I'll make the drive to Lowe's in Aurora or just buy on Amazon. read more

Don't waste your time and DON'T EVER COME SHORT ON DEPOSIT TOO RENT A TRUCK. I tried to rent a truck from there last Friday 07/21/2023 I was $20 short for the deposit of $150 when I went to swipe I only had $130 in my account card machine said payment declined insufficient funds. I just had too load the rest onto the card at nearby Walmart and come back. I did that and came back (45 minutes later) you'd think my money would be on the card still since I was declined from renting due to insufficient funds No Home Depot went ahead and took the $130 from my account was told at first would be 24 hours to 3-5 business days now today 07/28/2023 being the 5th business day I was told to come in too speak too manager in person and to show up ready with my bank statement. Well upon doing that I was rudely met with a biased very unconcerned vague answered person they called manager whom showed up 20 minutes later with a cop?? who informed me since the rental was not in there system due to the payment being declined but yet still taking all the money I had in the account.?? That was not there problem. Seeming like I didn't even have an argument as I tried to show my bank statement this was point P.O.S finally got irritated and said home Depot doesn't honor personal bank statements as proof that home Depot debited my card they only honor whatever's in there system and if needed further assistance to call 1800 HOME DEPOT and my bank. if the bank still says that the funds are still with HOME DEPOT then I was to have my bank get ahold of the HOME DEPOT financial department in Georgia. The manager then gleed with delight as he lastly said before walking off proud that he saved the company money, that HOME DEPOT can't give money that they don't have. read more

The Home Depot $17,000- Kitchen Installation Nightmares Do not contract with The Home Depot. They will take your money in exchange for TERRIBLE, no HORRIBLE service. We experienced two months of loss and misdirected cabinets. Our cabinets were sent to the wrong address. No one at the store could locate them for weeks. Once arrived, the cabinets set throughout the house for more weeks. Eight months of poor consultancy and waiting on contractors. Pipes installed then reinstalled, water cut off 2 months. When water was turned back on, a water leak. Eight months of a difficult time contacting or hearing from project manager. The installation looks crazy and the kitchen smaller. Please for your sanity. DO NOT contract with The Home Depot, they willingly make contracts and DO NOT DELIVER. We lost money, time and disruption of our home. read more

Scheduling any kind of service has been a nightmare. Was not able to schedule a garage door install (which I purchased at Home Depot) for at least a week as the department did not answer the phone. Ended up having to visit the store in person to schedule. The blinds installation was even worse. Home Depot uses a contractor, I believe HOM solutions, who have terrible customer service ratings and did not respond at all to multiple requests to schedule the blinds installation. Ultimately had to hire a different company to do the work. While HOM solutions is primarily to blame, shame on Home Depot for continuing to use them (per reviews they have a long track record of poor service). Home Depot did not refund my deposit for the installation. Guess Lowe's is my new go-to. read more

Used their Lawn Mower Rental Services - life saving find as several mowing services canceled on us last minute (the yard needed some TLC)! With a $50 deposit, it only cost $22+plus tax for 4 hours. Easily loaded into the back of my car by unlatching and folding the handle bar. Staff helped with the loading and unloading - definitely a two person assist. Made sure to return it clean with a full tank of gas, as requested. I only wish the lawn mowers had a bag to collect the excess grass instead of disposing it in the yard as well as a speed lever. Will certainly use again! read more

Rented a truck on Saturday, wasn't told about the need for a gas receipt by the person who checked me out and was charged an outrageous $15 for not providing a receipt, even though I filled up. I never bother to print a receipt at the gas pump, in the interest of saving another tree. The contract only mentions that the tank needed to be full (see my third paragraph below), which it was. I showed activity on my credit card account, but that was deemed not sufficient. I called customer service and complained about this. They contacted the store and were told the exact same thing. The CSR was nice enough to send me a $15 gift card, which I'm sure is from their discretionary spending budget to appease upset customers. I travel a ton for work and rent a lot of cars. I've never had to show receipts or pay an outrageous $6.50 per gallon. They're usually 50 cents more per gallon and only charge a refueling fee if the fuel indicator shows less than empty. My burning question is this: where in the contract is the gas receipt mentioned? In page 3, section II, subsection (b) Fuel, it's mentioned: Renter will return the Vehicle with the same level of fuel that the Vehicle contained when rented ("Original Fuel Level"), vehicles returned with less than the Original Fuel Level are subject to a fuel replacement charge. This is the third strike against The Home Depot in my case. My credit card was compromised in 2014 during their data breach, I had another terrible customer service incident just last week (see my other review from a week ago) and now this. I'm just going to go to another store going forward. read more

I have been shopping at this store for ages and it used to be great but now....it's absolutely TERRIBLE!! No one seems to work here, you can never find someone to help you out and when you do find someone-they are useless and don't know anything! One person who has helped out consistently is Anthony Fronek-nice guy who's knowledgable. Let's move onto the stock levels--don't even waste your time coming here, I've been here the last 4 times and walked out empty handed as they just don't have stock!! Tried for a fourth time and got a rental but didn't walk around the car with that not so great employee in rentals. Luckily there was another employee there who witnessed her not inspecting the vehicle so when I returned and there was a scratch on the car (I didn't put on the vehicle), the second employee did the right thing and didn't charge me. Soooo thank you to the tall male employee who did his job right. The people in flooring are super lazy. Was looking for a flooring color in a specific width, they only had a honey on the floor. I asked the workers to pull a pallet down so I can grab the color I needed and they swore up and down they didn't have it. Lady and gentleman gave me attitude. Went and asked someone in a different department to grab it and I was out the store with the color and width flooring I needed within ten minutes. Tremendous customer service. read more

Let me start by saying I have built 3 restaurants and renovated 4 homes with supplies from Home Depot. You could say I'm a regular! Corporate HD and Regional management should be absolutely ashamed of how the Quebec St, Stapleton location is run as a business. Aisles are so full of un-merchandised product and clutter that I am hard-pressed to find a clear aisle to shop. Shelves are messy, often empty and product dusty....yes, dusty as if forgotten. Finding knowledgeable staff in any section is impossible however on a positive note the cashiers are friendly and helpful. In stark contrast, my visit to Lowe's this week was the opposite experience. As someone who regrettably let her husband start remodeling the bathroom, among other projects, I have spent a lot of time here. As noted in other reviews, the staff may not always be the most knowledgable, but they are smiling, and friendly to me and my dog to the point that everyone stops to pet her and some even carry treats. I feel like I never have to wait to check out and even if someone doesn't know the answer, they will help you find it out. Unfortunate as this is the closest location to my home. We needed assistance to have some chain cut. We asked for some help and they paged someone to our location. We waited 10 minutes which seemed reasonable (very few customers in the store). I asked a cashier to try the page again. She flagged down wine down who was very unenthusiastic about having to help. He stated, "the guy must be on break so you'll have to wait 15 minutes or so." I responded by telling him that we have already waited that amount of time. He just looked at me. I inquired as to whether there was a floor supervisor or someone else that could help us since the employee was on break. He said " fine. I'll get someone". He promptly disappeared and no one ever materialized. After another 10 minutes we left. We were patient in this situation. It wasn't about being busy, short staffed or the weather. It was pure apathy. We have had 50/50 experience at this store. We have had some employees in this store walk us to show us where we need to be and others that shrug their shoulders. Err, I thought I have reviewed this HOME DEPOT many moons ago. Unfortunately, I guess NOT coz I cannot find my review. *SIGH* Anyways, this recent visit was on Saturday April 12th 2014. Time was about 09:25hrs ish. Hubs needed to get the Vinyl Blinds which was broken in one of our rooms. Hence to this Home Depot we went. Furthermore, its the nearest Home Depot we needed to be along the way to run some errands WEST Direction. In addition to this, I also find some Flooring Tiles, that catches my eye and we are considering to purchase them in the future when needed. The pricing for those items are reasonable for our budget needs. Yes, we managed to find some of the staff helpful and assisted us in some shape or form. All in all its ALWAYS a Decent Experience time shopping here. I guess, coz Hubs knows WELL the Layout of this Home Depot and maybe since he is the "regular" customer in this Home Depot, shopping here for our DIY needs was indeed a breeze.
