This is such a cute store that is a mix between Pet Supplies Plus and Ace Hardware. We received great support from the Ace representative when we were looking for fire alarms. The prices always feel a bit high but it's reasonable for a smaller hardware store with great customer service. read more

I am leaving a 1 star because this business chose to neglect a long time customer. I placed an order online for a gift for someone, before checkout it said the item would be delivered by 1/5, after checking out and placing the order the delivery status changed to 1/12. This didn't work for me so I immediately requested for cancellation. On my order status it showed a blue box saying "cancellation in review, you will receive an email in 2 days". Several days go by and I received no email and my order status changed to "shipped" several more days go by and I still have received nothing from Ace, the blue box still showing on my order status, and tracking showing "delivered in parcel locker". I go to my mailbox to get the key to the parcel locker and it is not there. I reach out to USPS and they place a missing mail search. I email Ace customer service regarding the issue. Several more days go by, my package is still missing, clearly the key was delivered to the wrong mailbox and whomever received the key did not return my package. My order status still showing my package "on the way", and the blue box regarding cancellation status still showing. I have received absolutely nothing from Ace regarding cancelation, nor anything from Ace customer service about my missing order. USPS still searching for my package. From my point of view Ace has failed my on every front, lied about delivery date before checkout, ignored my request for cancelation (which was initiated within minutes of placing the order), shipping my order out anyways while a cancellation request was present, and then neglecting to even follow up with me after I had reached out to customer service regarding my missing order and cancellation. Now I have no package and I am out all of the money I payed for the item, and have yet to get any kind of response from Ace. Ace you have lost a long time customer, I will no longer support doing any kind of business with you. I will now be shopping with local businesses as well as Home Depot, Lowes, and Harbor Freight. read more

What a joke, I literally come here every day, or at least 3-4 times a week, as it's a "slash" pet store and I have 3 super rad Cats. I never really do much interaction as I know where my "go-tos" are. Just like any other day only today I also needed some draino type product. took awhile. No help, NBD I'm capable. Waiting in line as nobody could tell dudenin front of me where the eyeglass screwdriver sets are . "I dunno I can't think today." Was the end of the inquiry. Poor guy. My turn , (come 3-4 times a week) purchasing my drano and as I pull the $20 out, everyone there sees it rip. Not in half but maybe 5/6 all the way down. "Whoooosies, got any scotch tape?" They did not... Weird. Plus wonder cashier who "can't think today" has to call her manager acting like I brought in an already ripped $20 bill or something. Again. We all saw it happen . Mind you I'm on a cane from a motorcycle injury so it's extra annoying. Manager says it's a no go. I assure them that after managing a hotel for 10!years and turning in money every morning to an actual bank, you CAN accept any word bill.. unless your customer service for regulars is complete shyt and your untrained staff are mainly just pieces of wood, you can't wrap your head around nascitcu taped bill , like it's a counterfiet operation to get $3 back . So sadly I'll still have to go here if I'm in a hurry, but my respect for the establishment is weary and I will go elsewhere when I can . Shame on you for being that actual LAME. OH.. AND having non-existent customer service/loyalty.. Train better, learn rules before you say you can't do it. Another thing. Even if you're not supposed to. I love hardware stores. Ace especially has the most interesting things on their shelves . Or do they? I like the way they overstock things on their shelves and it's like waiting for anybody to just dive in and look for stuff. This Ace is not particularly like that. It's not packed to the gills and it bores me. There's other Ace scattered all through Denver that will feed your Ace obsession. This location orderly, clean and the aisle are wider. *yawn...* Yet it's still an Ace. With the legendary customer service. They have a good section of pet products and pet food. I ordered some caulk on line and picked up at a store in a suburb, and the Ace in the city refused to take a return on one extra tube, saying they "aren't connected" to any other Ace. I get the franchise concept, however, acehardware.com is connected to all store locations. They should be able to take it and return it or sell it. No more shopping at Ace. I guess I'll have to stick to Lowe's or Home Depot. read more

I wanted to exchange an item (paint remover) that was totally worthless. I tried everything I could to get it to work to no avail. I explaned this to the teenage manager and was told no way way she would return or exchange the item and refused to give me her mame and was asked to leave the store. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny. My previous trips there and also by calling ahead showed me they dont know anything about hardware or customer service and should be expected when the average age of the employees is about 18 . This Ace Hardware store location is just fantastic for folks living in the downtown area! I love that it's convenient enough to walk to (if you don't need too many things) and has the staples I need for my household chores and things on my to do list. They have things for gardens and plants, tools, plumbing and other random needs you may have like hanging things. They also have practical items available if you are in need of household cleaners, brooms, sanitizing supplies and PPE (currently have a sale on 50-pack medical masks box for $13!) I have been surprised that most of the items I pick up are not overpriced (which I assumed based on location). For instance, I just bought a bag of soil that is comparable to Walmart's price except I didn't need to drive all the way out there to purchase it. I'm sure not all items have the same story but I'd happily pay a bit more for the convenient of the location and not needing to take a car. Generally, the staff here has been really helpful and friendly. On my last visit, there seemed to be only one person working (couldn't seem anyone else after searching the store). He wasn't rude but not the most friendly. Overall, I'm happy to keep giving this Ace location my business!
