Everyone we've spoken to with DLM (3 people so far) has been outstanding! Their online price list is really helpful, placing an order over the phone is easy, and they deliver on time and to the exact spot of your choosing (though I suppose there are limitations because of the size of the trucks, so don't get carried away thinking these guys are just going to be able back it on up to anywhere your project might be and dump it in). DLM offers outstanding customer service and is staffed with professional, knowledgeable people. This is the first time I'm doing any kind of patio work in my yard and went to DLM for some initial quotes and inquires to get the job done right. Not only were their prices the best but their friendly, approachable staff answered all of my questions and didn't seem bothered/annoyed by an amateur's questions. I ended up ordering flagstone, recycled concrete and sand for our 12x12 ft project and DLM was so professional and well priced I added an order of river cobble/pebbles for another section of my yard. One of their staff members even walked me outside to show me different sizes and even poured water over the stone so that I could get a true depiction of the pebble's color. Delivery was on time by the nicest man who safely delivered the products in our narrow driveway- making sure not to damage our fence or eves. After placing my order and receiving the delivery, there was confusion about the size of pebbles that I ordered and Corey from DLM was a breeze to work with. Within 15 minutes of hanging up the phone he quickly had another delivery of the right pebbles (FREE OF CHARGE) in my driveway. He assured me he wanted his customers to be happy and satisfied with service, and even offered to leave the "wrong sized" pebbles with us (also free of charge) if we thought we could use them for another project around the home... My husbamd and I have stopped around at other landscape companies for several days and finaly looked at denverlandscape. Of all the companies we went to they had everything we needed to do all of the work we wanted to finjsh our deck. They are very helpful and gave us directions for the installation of the flagstone. I just had to let my yelp friends know this is the better of the landscape suppliers we visited. Had a problem getting waited on they were so busy but when the did it was the most worthwile companyvwe shoped at. I went in over the weekend and found the stone I was looking for to build my flower garden wall.. I worker with one of their employees who gave me a written price. I went back in to pay and schedule a delivery and they told me that it was priced wrong and they would not honor her written price. I have several employees who occasionally send out incorrect pricing and I always honor their mistakes. Its called good customer service. My new house has to be completely re-landscaped and this was the first project. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I ordered several yards of red mulch to be delivered between 10-12. We had set this time up because we had other plans after lunch. I called at 11:36 and was told the driver was on his way back from his previous delivery and we were next. At 12:46 I called again and was told the driver had left the yard with our delivery. I did not receive any calls from them saying they were going to be late. The driver did not arrive until 1:55. read more

We have a huge landscape project as our house is being built. This past weekend we stopped by just to see what options they had. Ended up leaving with just over 1/2ton of flagstone at an amazing price. They were very busy and seemed to only have one person working to fill all the customer orders as the others were out doing delivery's, they were friendly and didn't mind when we were picky about which 200lb piece we wanted. The owner even gave us a discount which was more than appreciated especially since we have so much to landscape! We will be returning this weekend to purchase mulch, and then a few weeks from now to get sod. Best prices I have seen after doing extensive research, and better yet they are local! read more

The order and delivery of the screened topsoil was easy and delivered on time. However the sod was delayed a day because they didn't have the whole order by 100 sqft. They called and I said it was fine to deliver a day late but confirmed the sod would come in the morning and he said yes. I then went to rent a lawn roller for the sod the next morning for the day only to have them deliver the sod in the afternoon. It seems as though they have no respect or urgency to get customers ordered materials to them at the time they said they would. They also don't call to update you of the new delivery times, so you're waiting for them all day without notice of when your order will actually come to your house. I told the receptionist that I already rented tools for the day and I was told it would be here in the morning and she said, "I have no control over when the sod gets delivered". Friendly tip, make sure you have a day or two to waste Incase they don't deliver when they say. Also, think about getting sod delivered directly from the sod company not the "middle" man. We went there on a Saturday with the intention of buying 3.5 tons of pee gravel to make a dog run. While walking in the yard the owner of Denver Landscaping Materials told us we should get a product called Sqeegee. As new homeowners we went along with what he said - thinking he must know more about this then we do since we explained what we wanted it for. That was our first mistake. Then we also decided to buy 4 boulders as decorative rock for our yard. We "marked" the boulders by placing small stones on them. We went in and paid and expected a delivery a few days later. In the meantime we decided we wanted one more thing so we headed back the next day. We found our boulders had not been pulled aside and were all still out with the ones for sale. I asked that they be set aside and was assured they would be. So a couple days go by and we get a delivery while we r at work. That weekend we go to move the 3.5 tons of pea gravel and boulders to our back yard via wheel barrel. We find out what they sold us was basically a pile of mud with some rocks in it. Since it was a sunday and they were closed we decided to make a filter and clean the mud off before moving rocks to our dog run (so weeds would not grow in our dog run). This took two full days working to clean that many rocks. In addition, we found they only delivered 3 of our 4 boulders. I called and was told that based on the actual weight of the boulders (about 500 lbs each) they had underestimated so we ended up getting what we paid for. I said I would have appreciated a call so I could pay for the additional boulder. Then I told them about how unhappy I was with Steve's recommendation about the squeegee. I even spoke to Steve who said "this is not how we do business, how can I make it up to you". I replied that a partial refund would be appreciated...he said they can't do refunds but could do a store credit. I told him after the bad experience we just had I was not sure I want to go back there...A few days latter my husband decided he wanted more flagstone so I called and left a message for Steve. I have since called twice a week for over three weeks trying to reach Steve, I guess he does not want to "make this right." So overall I have wasted so much time cleaning the rocks, didn't get what I wanted and wasted time trying to call him. I still have about a half ton of squeegee (aka mud with some rocks in it) in my garage in buckets that still need to be cleaned. I expect this will take about 4 hours. VERY HAPPY with our decision to buy sod here. We called around and did our research and found that, including delivery, these guys were the cheapest place in town for sod (a full dollar cheaper per roll than any nursery or the big box hardware store). We called on a Thursday, hoping to have 1500 sq ft of sod delivered Saturday morning. No problem, they told us they just need 24 hours notice to have it cut out of the ground and shipped directly to us. Bright and early Saturday morning the sod was delivered, and we even got a few extra rolls free of charge, since they rounded up to the next full pallet. Most importantly, the sod was fresh out of the ground and healthy -- we did not have even one roll in 1500 sq ft that did not take. Even the edges and corners (everyone who's laid sod before knows the corners can tend to dry out/curl up/not take root) took root and grew in beautifully. I waited 6 weeks to write this review just to make sure the sod survived and grew, and I'm thrilled to report it is BEAUTIFUL. Just by way of comparison, our friends bought sod around the same time from ahem...a big box orange retail hardware store...and installed it the same day we installed ours. Their sod was obviously older and drier, and showed after it was installed -- many edges and corners died and the grass overall doesn't look as good as ours 6 weeks later. read more
