Worst nail experience I've ever had. One nail broke the very next day just from opening a door, then another broke two days later. I had to go out of my way THREE times during my birthday week to fix nails that should have lasted. Today was the third time I came in, and they still tried to charge me again. Instead of taking responsibility, they kept blaming me and saying I need to "be careful" over simple things like opening a door. That's ridiculous. The first and second time my nails broke, I actually bled and my skin was open and painful for days. Thankfully this time I didn't bleed, but that should never happen from a nail service. I even asked to just change the whole set so I wouldn't keep dealing with broken nails, and they refused unless I pay again. I've been getting long nails for years and this has NEVER happened. This is clearly cheap work and low-quality products. Complete waste of time, money, and energy. Never coming back. read more

Got my nails done by them last week as of today 6 nail where lifting came in and was charge 45 for a refill and an additional 5 for length but this when I first got them done the were classified as short now apparently they are long . Maybe I don't have good nail shops under my belt, but I was in town for the 1st time and had some time to kill before my hotel room was ready. I decided to try out DKM based on their reviews & them being open early, and I'm glad I made it over. I haven't had service like this in a while, if ever. They are patient and the manicurist, Vi was so considerate of keeping the chair on for me, bringing another towel so the dust wouldn't get all over my clothes, asked me did I want a water when I first sat down-- great service that's hard to find these days in my hometown. Laura, who did my pedicure was great too, one of the best pedi's I've had in a while. Both of them massaged me way longer than I thought they would--Vi went all the way up to my shoulders and I couldn't believe Laura wasn't tired. Awesome. I came on a Friday morning and it was fairly empty so that could be contributing to them not having to rush and having more energy, just a thought. Either way I'm super satisfied. I wasn't even finished with my service before I started writing this review, but I wanted to make sure I gave them the thumbs up they deserved. For reference I got a simple gel manicure and pedicure with lavender(scrub) & mint(clay?) extras. The polish on my hands is a little thick, but I mentioned how my nails break easily, so I'm interested to see if the thicker coat helps any. Again thank you to Laura & Vi and thank you DKM!!!! I called at 1pm on a Saturday to make an appointment in the next hour around 2pm and the lady on the phone said that's fine. I walked in a little after 2pm and the lady immediately directed me to the pedicure chair. Jenny did my pedicure and she gave me the menu and I requested the deluxe pedicure. I also showed her a photo of the French pedicure I wanted and she did a great job. The pedicure was relaxing and refreshing. She did a thorough job with my pedicure and they feel amazing. Kim did my overlay manicure. She did a fairly ok job. She got started on my nails as Jenny was working on the pedicure. For my first time here, it was a good job. Total price was $117 not including tip. I've been to another salon that was a bit more expensive that didn't do as well. Price seems average for a deluxe pedi and mani. read more

I really enjoyed the service here. I got a gentleman, (which I feel horrible I don't remember his name, David I think) to do my mani-pedi. They were in pretty bad condition so I was emberrased, add to that i am horribly ticklish (hence the fact i don't do them often). Thankfully, he was super patient about it, helpful and funny. There was someone else next to him, another nail tech, that was also hilarious so it made our experience wonderful. Only down part was that it was 3 of us coming in together, all got sat down but got started on at different times. It almost seemed short staffed but the work they did was great! Not a bad place. I came with my mum and even with an appointment the wait time was about 25 minutes. It was quite busy at the salon. We did a classic pedicure with white French tips. The lady that did my toes were very sweet and nice. My mum said she liked the lady who also assisted her. They both did a good job. Overall it took about 45 minutes for the actually service to complete. Cost was $30, with tip is $35 per person. Service wasn't above and beyond, no drinks offered, overall aesthetic of the salon was ok. Not a bad place overall. read more

After doing a little research, I called DMK and asked if I needed to make an appointment, they told me to come in in about an hour. I was greeted and had to soak to get my old acrylics off, and was left there long enough to get a little agitated, but Gina came and started the process. I was recommended by a friend who's a regular here. I wanted to look for other places that were a closer commute to town; and DKM is perfect. They are ducked off in a shopping center on fountain view, just south of Westheimer. Gina did my nails, I'm pretty sure she is the owner but don't quote me on that. I told her what color I wanted and she came through with an ombré slay! Like most places, they do charge extra for different shapes, powder, and ombré... I also got glow in the dark -- so my first visit with pedicure was $85/$100 with tip. I came back again, a month later and my nails, with the exception of one (because it broke from the nail bed) was still intact, still look good and barely lifted. My second visit with a gel nail refill and pedicure was $60, so they are very reasonable in price and the spa is very clean. They also have a VARIETY of colors (polish, gel and powder). Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new spa home! If you're looking to be in and out, this might not be the place for you. I definitely come to relax, as I am there 1.5-2 hours on average. read more

My first visit was last Thursday and when I parked, my first impression was, "OMG, it looks so ghetto here, I fucked up coming here". The inside of the nail shop is a completely different story though. It's bright, clean, organized, and well-decorated. I was quickly greeted and the nail tech, Rachel, immediately set me up for my full set of acrylic nails and offered water. She didn't talk much, unless it was necessary, but that's just fine because I'm also not much of a talker. After each step, she asked me if everything looked ok and if there were any adjustments needed, which I was super appreciative for. After she applied top coat to my nails, she noticed one of my nails felt rough cause of the glitter and went back to smooth my nail and reapplied the top coat. She then checked the other nails for roughness. I thought that was very attentive of her. My set was $40 and I'll def come back for Rachel. She's such an attentive sweetheart. read more

Yes! DKM Nails is always a plus when I go, the only issue is that there is no guaranteed order they take customers. When you walk in the door and the nail technicians ask you what service do you want then they have you take a seat and wait to be called next. Well there is no numbers to pull or sign in sheet so sometimes people can come in and be missed informed of the wait time because they really don't call customers accordingly. Prime example, I had walked in the other day to get my nails done and I was told to wait 30 minutes until a service can be provided; upon returning inside the nail shop when I left to go outside and talk on the phone a customer was taken in front of me. I clearly was waiting with the said time but since no sign in sheet/or ticket number you can lose your turn. Checking into the shop is not a formal process, so I had to wait another thirty minutes when they didn't call me. Nail work is always great, staff was friendly and very professional. read more

Had a girls' day on Saturday here and I called the day before to make a reservation, which they booked immediately. When I arrived, I was greeted nicely and started to peruse their assortment of colours. I was worried we came at a busy time (2pm) but they had space for us due to the reservation. The pricing is quite affordable, manicure and pedicure for $25 each. I had regular polish on my toes and shellac on my nails. I liked their colour selection and attentiveness when performing their service. They also offered beverages; my friends had some wine and said it wasn't that great. I wouldn't expect high quality wine at a nail salon but... my water was good. :) The strip it's located in seems a bit sketchy; honestly, when we pulled in we saw someone getting arrested at the convenience store next door. Kinda concerning(!) but otherwise it was safe. They have a button at their desk that they use to lock the door so if you're entering and the door seems jammed, give them a moment to unlock it for you.
