After a quick Yelp search, I decided to check out Badri Brows because of the positive reviews. After a quick phone call, I was assured I could walk right in. From the first visit, I was sold! Even though threading is a bit more uncomfortable than waxing, I'm always happy with the results. The women who work at Badri are always listen to what I want and are very precise. They do a great job, and I'm always in and out in under fifteen minutes. Most times on the weekend, I am able to get all right in with having to wait, and if there is a wait, it's usually only about ten minutes. Badri Brows is super adorable and costs less than the place I used to go for waxing. I appreciate that they have have a punchcard, so after eight visits, your brows are free! The parking lot does fill up on weekend mornings, so I usually just go in the afternoon when there are more free spaces. read more

But they were pretty rude as I walked in, Acted like they didn't want my business. Just couldn't care less. The two girls were just talking eachother the whole time, ignoring me. Just terrible customer service. until I signed and she saw I left a tip. I always tip because I know how hard the service industry is but it just left a bad taste in my mouth. How she completly changed her attitude and demeanor after that. Probably not going back. But I didn't get burned or my eyebrows didn't get messed up so I'll leave a 3 star read more

Quick service and good quality of work but not very friendly. The threading was so painful and I was literally crying and not once did the lady ask if I wanted aloe or say a word. Like it was just so awkward cause all these tears were coming out of my eyes as she robotically had a poker face and continued threading my eyebrows in silence. I was due for my annual hair cut and found a Groupon for a "hair cut, deep-conditioning treatment, and style" at Badri's. I looked up reviews before committing and was slightly hesitant because there was no mention of haircuts and only threading, but I needed a cut and it was the closest one to me that was being offered at a decent price. It's located on the second floor of a center across from Whole Foods. I made the appointment the afternoon before for Saturday morning at 10. There was almost no parking and someone was already there (a mom for her kid's haircut), but it turns out that they're temporarily sharing the place with another business who specialize in kids' haircuts who had an issue with their old place. Everyone else (there was a steady stream of customers and a line at one point) came in for threading (mainly brows and I saw what seemed like a full face thread job) and even the regulars didn't seem to know they did hair. Well, that was comforting. Even so, I was there. My lady went by the name of Somuna (sp? - pronounced So-moon-ah) and she was quite nice and gentle, regularly asking me if everything was okay. She didn't really know what the Groupon entailed but I ended up getting my shampoo, then the deep-conditioning treatment, a haircut, and a blow dry. They don't seem too prepared for haircuts but they do have the necessary things. I was left at the Helmet (the place where they sit you down under this hot helmet) a bit past the timer because they were getting busy and she was helping with threading one lady's brows at the main Threader's request (she seemed like The Boss), but no big deal. I was busy on my phone so wasn't too bothered and had already told my husband I would likely be running later than planned. In the end, my hair was the perfect length and so were my bangs. Well, mostly. I last had my bangs cut in Asia where they do it differently and it starts pretty high; she had thought the portion at the top of my head were to be parted so they weren't cut the same way so I had to fix that later that day. Can't really blame her since I forgot to point it out. She did take her time with the haircut going through everything layer by layer and with precision. However, though my hair was blown dry, I wouldn't call it a "style", and my face still had hair sticking to it despite her efforts to brush it off with some Kleenex. Also, it was different in that she asked how short I would like it with the hair on the back of my head (I'm used to them asking referencing the hair on either sides of my face) and it was cut clean across - no layers. I now look even more Asian than I already do. All in all, I can't say I have too many big complaints other than leaving with hair scattered across my face (one last shampoo would have been nice). I was in and out in roughly an hour and a half - perhaps even less, since I had turned into the wrong complex and actually arrived about 6 minutes late. I'm used to having some layers in my hair to thin it out as it's quite thick, but it's an interesting change not to have any. I may return to get my eyebrows threaded, though, once I grow them out. :) read more

My family is Indian so I've always been told that threading is better than waxing, but between the excruciating pain of feeling every single hair getting yanked out at the root and having to endure the bitchy comments from the Indian salon aunties about my weight, facial hair, and acne scars, I got into the habit of waxing for the past few years. However lately my go-to waxing spot has been super busy every time I've tried to go and I just don't feel like waiting an hour on a Saturday to spend 5 minutes getting my brows waxed. So I did a Yelp search and Badri popped up. I wasn't crazy about trying threading again but the place had good reviews and was super close to my apartment so I figured it was worth a shot. The interior of the salon was clean and the wait time was minimal (it was a Saturday afternoon and there were only two other customers there the whole time I was inside). The employee who did the threading was extremely sweet and somehow managed to make it less physically and emotionally painful than almost every other threading experience I've ever had. She got through the entire process without once insulting me or commenting on my physical appearance, so that alone earned her a nice tip and ensures I'll be coming back. I walked in and was immediately greeted and I had to wait no more than 5 mins. So to me that's a good sign because customer service is important to me. Now to what really matters....MY BROWS!!! Badri is a little out of the way for me compared to other places near the Med Center, but it's 100% worth the drive. She always does a great job with whatever service you get, and her prices are extremely reasonable. I usually get eyebrow threading ($10, plus she's very consistent with her work) +/- underarm wax (also $10, and the wax she used smells soooooo good). I'm very guilty of admiring my brows in the mirror for hours after I visit here. read more

Let me start this review by stating the service itself WAS GOOD. The customer service I think not. I purchased a Groupon for 3 eyebrow threadings and only used 1. When I mentioned I had a Groupon the woman checking me out became very displeased. She began speaking with her coworker in another language and mentioned "Groupon". You could tell by her facial expressions and body language, without understanding her words that she was irritated. She made me redeem my Groupon( for 3 threadings) even though I would still have 2 uses left. I then tipped on the full price and I asked about the redemption. She told me it would be my responsibility to remember the date I came, November 9th, for the next time. I felt uncomfortable and like going back to redeem my other 2 uses would be unwanted and uncomfortable again. Especially since she already redeemed my entire 3 in 1 use. I strongly suggest this business take their Groupon offer down if they do not want customers coming in that have purchased and are going to make them feel unwanted and uncomfortable. read more

COMPELLED to write this. Full disclosure: I'm a frequent waxer. From eyebrows to bikini, its not a new experience for me. Which is why it was tough moving to Houston and trying to find a place I like. I tried THREE before I found Badri, and can't believe my luck. Things that matter for waxing/hair removal: 1. Time - No matter how you slice it, from waxing to threading, it hurts. The best thing to look for is someone who is skilled and does it in a timely manner. Other places (...like the Waxing the City...) are very nice, skilled even, but believe it should take an hour for a brazillian so you feel you got your money's worth. Its just not true - should not take that long. 2. Thoroughness - At the end of it all, you want a clean, professional job. Everything I've had done here was immaculate. Done quickly, quietly, and most importantly, thoroughly. From brows and lip, to under arm and bikini - it was the ONLY place I've been in Houston that was truly no maintenance after. 3. Price - Its ridiculous how affordable they keep their prices. If you wax regularly, it can add up, and this is the type of place you'll have on your calendar long term. Everyone in there - whether for hair or brows - looked like they had been going there for years. This is only maintained through good service, and reasonable pricing IMO. In the end, waxing is a nice way to maintain, but can be scary and weird. The women are beautiful and professional, but keep it simple. No real frills, but again, if you wax regularly, you don't need 'em. Its not a luxurious spa, but you want it to be clean, courteous, and above all else, well done. DO NOT GO HERE FOR HAIR COLORING OR HAIR CUT. DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU WANT DAMAGED HORRENDOUS HAIR. Look, I don't write reviews often and I'm a very optimistic person. Badri is good at eye brow threading but that is all. She is terrible with hair coloring. I took a leap of faith and gave it a shot. Worst mistake I made. I asked for a balyage, and she gave me yellow (not even blonde) streaks so I look like a skunk. Then she tries to repair it by toning it which came out to be a brassy mustard color. She again said I'll fix it - toned it again and made it a dark RED RED RED color like MAROON. How is this a balyage? How is this even normal? I am so disappointed and horrified. This is the biggest regret. Biggest mistake. She is not even an amateur she is incompetent with hair coloring. She is a nice lady who is good at eyebrows. Leave at that. Do not cut your hair, color, or anything with her. You've been warned. Take is from a person who is hopeful, happy, and very optimistic. I did not exaggerate in any way. After all the terrible burns my face has endured from waxing, I'm glad I was able to check this threading place out. It's close enough to me, and it is on my way home from the gym. It is also open a little later. Convenience is always a win. Since it is inside the loop, I'm not surprised that the pricing was much higher than I'm used to. I have gone to good threading places where I have paid $7 for an eyebrow and upper lip service, but here, it was $15 for both. The service itself was good. I was not left with any cuts in any areas. She didn't ask me if I wanted to thin my eyebrows up, or just clean the area, but my eyebrows did come out much thinner to my liking. All in all, I will definitely be back. I enjoy threading much more than waxing, and I'm sure it may take a couple of visits to figure out who my favorite threader for my eyebrows will be. read more

I went for my first visit and I was very happy with the results. Thrusha (sp??) threaded my brows and my upper lip. I had waited quite awhile before going to allow more of my brows to grow in so that there would be plenty to work with and shape! She was very nice and friendly. She trimmed the top edges of my brows with scissors. And she didn't go extremely fast while threading, she was very thorough. Initially, she just cleaned them up, and then she let me take a look. I told her that I liked to keep my brows wide and shapely. She continued threading just to provide an arch. They looked good when she was finished! The staff is very friendly and efficient, the salon is clean. It seems like a great place for threading, trims, and kids haircuts, but not so much on-trend adult haircuts. I had a haircut +deep condition and style. I wanted a short, trendy cut. I left with a helmet head that was nothing like the pictures I brought, even after I restyled at home with products that usually bring out my desired style. Other salons have achieved the look I love in the past, so I'll be going to them instead in the future. It sucks because I will need to have someone fix this helmet hair I've got going on. read more

I came here for a bikini wax and eyebrow threading on two separate visits. First was my brazilian. I've had a few, so I knew what to expect. I was NOT expecting that amount of pain though! I'm not exactly sure why, but it hurt so bad that I could barely make my 10 min drive home safely. Even still, I came back for my eyebrows because I thought, "maybe they're just not good at waxing, I'll give them a shot with threading." I was not impressed. I'm usually very happy with threading because it looks so nice and clean afterwards, but this time it wasn't.
