I've been going to Aisha's Salon across the street on Hillcroft for 2 months now. I just started brow threading recently and was recommended there by a co-worker. I wanted to take a guy friend to try brow threading and Aisha's don't do men's brows. I did some Yelping and called Sameeta's and they said they do both men and women's brows. So my friend and I went to Sameeta's on a weekday, and they weren't busy. We were greeted and sat down for the service. They really took the time to do my brows and it wasn't rushed like at Aisha's. I also felt like it was less painful. My lady (didn't get her name) did extra cleaning up around the brows too! Overall, I liked the outcome. And you can't beat the $4! Men's was $7. My friend liked the threading experience and said he preferred it over waxing. read more

I'm not sure I'll be coming her again. At least in a while. I had facial waxing/threading last week and my face went from no acne to a complete acne breakout. I'm pretty sure it happened after the lady placed aloe Vera on my face. Quite sticky and smelled like honey. I'm trying my best right now to get rid of acne by washing my face at least 3 times a day. While I loved the price and the little shop, I think their quality has gone down. The other day the lady cut my brow way too much. Another time I noticed a gap I had to fill everyday. So pretty much gave them three chances. It was definitely my favorite brow place but I won't be visiting in a while. read more

I don't know what I was thinking. Maybe it was my Himalaya induced food coma that made me do my eyebrows here. Or maybe I was a dumb dolt who thought "Hey, $3.99 for eyebrows is awesome!" without contemplating the risks it might entail. Anyway, long story short--it was a less than spectacular experience. There was just one other client, so they got me in fast. A teenage girl did my eyebrows and throughout this time, I could smell her terrible, atrocious bad breath. It was DISGUSTING, all sulphur-y. Like rotten eggs or something. Add to that, it was really painful and she kept breaking the thread. It took a lot of effort to endure it all. Finally she got done and handed me the mirror. To my horror I saw multiple bleeding nicks all over my brow areas AND stray hairs. No lotion, no clean up, no aloe or any soothing cream. I wanted to tell her how bad of a job she'd done, but she was nowhere to be found. Instead I saw another lady waiting at the counter. I just put 4 one dollar notes down and walked out. *NEVER AGAIN* read more

I won't be going back... and this was my third time there. First time - Got my eyebrows done and they weren't amazing, but they were okay. I figured she was new to me and everyone has an off day. For $5, it was a great deal and I was willing to try again. Second time - I was in a rush, they were in a rush. Eyebrows weren't perfect, but they would do. Nails were not good, but they weren't horrible either. I passed on my feet because I was in a rush. For $18 it was a great deal, so I planned to come back and try the full package. Third time - Went in for the full package this time: eyebrows, nails and feet. Arrived at 5pm on a Sunday, shop closes at 6/6:30. Two people were on staff and only one other in a pedi chair. Well, turns out one of the ladies was just shop help, totally untrained in cosmetology. Somehow she ended up doing my nails, bad idea. Between the language barrier - she couldn't understand English and the other young lady barely could- and her lack of manicure knowledge, I was left with numerous nicks and cuts to my cuticles. This was in addition to my rounded pointy nails , I like them square, and super short length because she filed my naturally long nails down to NUBS trying to shape them.. the WRONG shape might I remind you! The pedicure left me with only a couple crooked toenails but no nicks, a concession for we which I was all to thankful! Even though I'd had my eyebrows done there twice before, I wasn't going to take any chances this time around. Horrible mani. Bad pedi. I did not need to end up with Rita Hayworth brows tonite! And boy was I happy I did. See, while waiting for my nails to dry, I watched the ladies "clean up" and "sanitize" for the night. I saw nail tools washed in soap and let to dry without sterilization. I saw a towel that was used to wipe off and drip dry one set of tools, be reused for another. I also saw nail files, emery boards and other items that were used prior to washing my hands or cleaning my nails, put back in a cup containing other nail tools WITHOUT any sanitizing! I left the salon is a rush, this time due to disgust, not lack of time. My toes were crooked, my fingers nicked and as I stared at my bleeding cuticle, I bore witness to a workers utilizing nearly NO sanitation practices int heir clean up. I was not happy, to say the least. If you DO go to Sameeta's, ask to see the license of the person working on you. Texas Licencing Dept requires ALL workers have one hanging since I only saw one hanging in the salon (Sameeta's - and she works in the upstairs salon not downstairs) I highly doubt you will get one from the person working on you. My guess is the people working there are not trained cosmetologists/cosmeticians. Maybe that explains it. p.s - this event happened nearly 2 mos ago. I purposely waited before writing to ensure it wasn't an emotion filled rant ( I was really angry by the time I got home). I Hope it wasn't. p.p.s - I still shudder with disgust when I think of what I saw during clean up. I could have gotten something! read more

I've been going to this little shop on Hillcroft for a few months now after deciding that I didn't like waxing my eyebrows. I agree waxing is faster, but threading is my hair removal method of choice. Practitioners use a pure, thin, twisted cotton thread which is rolled over unwanted hair and plucked at the follicle level. Unlike tweezing where a single hair is pulled out each time, threading can remove an entire row of hair, resulting in a straighter line. There is a definite art to the technique. Sameeta's is nothing to look at. It is a small shop in a strip center with 3-4 employees. But the price!! For $4, you can have the hair removed from your eyebrows and it only takes 5 minutes or so. The only downside is they don't take credit card unless the total is over $10, but at these prices who cares? read more

I'm really not one to scrimp when it comes to beauty (just ask the ladies at the Chanel counter), and I certainly wouldn't be cheap about my eyebrows, as I feel that they are the frame to every lady's face, but I wouldn't trade this $5 threading salon for a $30 one. I came here first when I was in college, and I fell in love with how well one of the ladies shaped my brows. She really, really took her time, and that made all the difference. It seems as though people have had bad experiences with the nail salon aspect of it, but I can't comment as to that. I have only been there for threading... Now, I thread my whole face (because I am terrified of any sign of peach fuzz), and I honestly have never had an issue. I think this place is definitely worth trying for the threading. . . for a mani/pedi, maybe not so much. read more

I went today to do my brows done I waited more then 15minutes when my turn came she did it less than three minutes she left all the hair in my eyebrows when I told her it doesn't even look like you did anything she have a big attitude and telling me oh I wear glasses I can see what I did so what is what mean I am lying and when I told her can you clean she rush me so much and hurt me really bad I'm also owner of the salon many years and I know how to treat your customer and talk to them with the manners I would not recommend this place at all please save your time and your money it's not Worth it read more

Eyebrow threading for $3.99! Holy moly! Came here during a weekday lunch, so there was no wait. I guess since it was around lunch, my lady's hands smelled like food (eww), so that was not pleasant. Please thoroughly wash your hands!! The lady first did one eyebrow and gave me a mirror to make sure I was okay with the shape. Definite plus - beats having two eyebrows done only to realize you don't like both of them. After both brows were done, she put on a soothing cream with a cotton swab. My friend decided to go here to get a Brazilian done; to be honest I do not know why she went there to get it done.... She told me that the lady ripped her skin off and she was bleeding. She was in so much pain she even had difficulty urinating. Luckily she went a bought Neosporin to bring her some relief, she paid $40 which is right at average, but definitely not ever going to go there to receive that service. I would not recommend this place for a Brazilian because they do not have the right type of wax for sensitive areas. It is good to know what type of wax they are using, if it natural or honey based that sticks to your skin i would not recommend for sensitive body parts. I've never left a negative review before, but my brows were threaded in two totally different shapes. One eyebrow is significantly higher and shorter than the other eyebrow and I look ridiculous. They said it would take 3 weeks to a month to grow back and fix it, but wouldn't fix it free of charge and I don't think I'd want to come back here anyway. I'm in tears. read more

I went in for the gold facial. I have been going here for my eyebrows threading even though they are a bit far for me. They do an awesome job every time, so I decided to try their facial too. The facial in itself was great and cleaned out my skin well. I did not have any breakouts or problems after. They are alright in their service. More occupied on the weekends. Service is very slow sometimes when they are busy and understaffed. They seem mostly understaffed. Have only used their services for Eyebrows and waxing. Pretty decent results for the price. They are cheaper for eyebrows and waxing compared to Ruby's across the street. Great service from all the ladies. I've gotten my eyebrow threaded here for years now and they always keep me balances and not looking like a caveman or giving me the "Beyoncé"brow. I've gotten a facial here, which was amaze-balls. Got a mani/pedi too. The first time they rounded my tips weird, which I let the lady know of, and the next time I went in she remembered me (awww) and told me that I shouldn't worry, she remembered I wanted squared tips (I feel that when they round the tips of your toenails they grow weird). Very clean place too. These ladies have ALOT of patience too, I saw a ratchet causing a scene once about her brows being too bushy, but that's what happens when you hairy. read more

$4 bucks to get your eyebrows threaded? Yes please! I've been going to Sameeta's Spa for awhile now, and I've haven't had an issue yet! Eyebrow and uppler lip threading totals to about $10. If you had something in mind, do tell her what you want so you won't have any unpleasant surprises. I believe the spa also offers facials, haircuts- typical spa stuff. This is the only place in Houston I go to have my eyebrows done. I am picky because I had to take a medication that made my eyebrows fall out so they help me to remove just a little bit of strangely hairs and not take off too much. Everyone who works there is very nice and good at threading. It's very inexpensive $7 for both eyebrows and upper lip!!! I also love the 10min facial massage for $10. It helps clear my sinuses and my skin glows. It's also extremely relaxing. Def recommended this place to everyone I know! :) read more

The lady in the downstairs shop ruined my eyebrows. Took off more hair from one eyebrow and made both my eyebrows a different shape and size. When I complained she started blaming me instead saying I came too early for threading and my eyebrows were not grown fully. Would have helped to tell me that BEFORE threading off my eyebrows.
