She was great and was very meticulous which I absolutely loved!!! The place is not the most aesthetically pleasing but it's no dump either. Reasonable prices and the only reason I didn't give her 5 stars was because she didn't speak English much and would mumble commands to me 3 times before I understood what she needed me to do. I found an old gift certificate that said it had no expiration date. So, I walked in and asked if I could use it. The lady said yes. The pedicure was good. A little careless with the nail brush (she scrubbed my toes not my toenails ). But, otherwise it was good. When I went to pay, they said my gc was too old and "the owner would not allow them to accept it". When I asked why they had said yes when I walked in, they began speaking in their home language and laughing. I went into DK Nails for the first time this past weekend and Fiona was the best technician I could of ever asked for. She was excellent. I haven't beautified my nails in a long, long time. I am talking centuries, but after stepping in like a ragged doll and walking out like my hands and feet were on display. I am going once a week to get the pampering! Fiona also removed all the hairs that was visible to the eye from my face and when the I thought she was finished..... she gave me a face message! In this place, the people are really happy and you feel the good vibe when you are there getting your services done. Mother's Day/ Birthday (past) weekend was great! Came in on a Sunday afternoon and got gel mani and regular pedi. One lady did my pedi and she did an OK job at cutting off my cuticles but a TERRIBLE job at painting my nails. TERRIBLE, I repeat. I don't know how can you work at a nail salon and not know how to properly paint nails. I did my gel mani with someone else and in this case he was too scared to even cut cuticles. I'm really picky when it comes to gel because I want them to look clean and no paint on the cuticles. But of course, I walked out with gel on my cuticles and cuticles not cut. I could've saved myself the $55 and done this job at home myself. They were nice and all, but I didn't pay for someone to be nice to me, I paid for good service. I won't go again. read more

I must say, as an ex-Miamian it's hard to come by really good nail salons that aren't incredibly expensive, that have techs that speak English, or not do a sloppy job. DK Nails was a great experience. My nail tech was interested in making conversation despite having minimal English skills. She was very sweet. The basic pedicure was very nice :) she spent a good amount of time massaging my legs and feet and my toes look great! The manicure was also very nice. I have a dermal on my wrist and the tech avoided putting lotion on it (Thank you!) and gave me a nice hand massage too. She only nipped a bit of my finger when cutting the cuticle, but I was also "overgrown" so I don't blame her. It didn't hurt nor did it bleed, it only stung when the polish went on. Of course my clumsy self ruined two nails right after she painted them, but quickly, neatly and kindly fixed them without making me feel retarded they looked great! Within two days they chipped, but my nails are a bit brittle and usually chip anyways so no blame on them or the polish. Overall great experience - I would absolutely go back! read more

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone horrible service. They will talk bad about you unless you understand the language, which I did. My Fiancé came in and asked "Do you have any positions available now" they responded "yes" They sat her down with her feet in the water ready to start. They first gave her a dirty used towel, then when another lady came in they said "oh she's a regular" skipped my fiancé then treated her with the most disrespect. I then asked for the manager he came rushing to the front desk as if they already knew they mistreated my fiancé. The manager couldn't stop stuttering and apologizing over and over. I have been going to DK nails in south miami for about a year now.. at least one a month. This past month i had gone 3 times. Yesterday was the last time. I like to go to have a good time. Getting my nails done is a time for me to relax. I tell the nail lady i didnt think she filed it evenly and if she could fix it and she gives me attitude saying im wrong. THEN i move by accident while shes painting and she SCREAMED at me. I totally paid my $12 and no tip. I refuse to go back i dont care how cheap or how really badly i need to get my nails done. The person who did my nails for almost 5 years recently moved to a different location(40 minutes away)making it impossible for me to follow as my time is limited bc of work. Decided to try DK nails bc is 5 minutes away and conveniently located(across Sunset Place) and I'm happy I did, the place is clean and well organized, I made an appointment for 4:30 and Michael(owner) escorted me to his work station at 4:31, I needed a new set(acrylic+gel) he removed the old one and sent me to his sister Cindy, she's probably the best nail technician I had in 18 years. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my nails(shape,length,color) and they came out exactly as the picture, not once I had to give her directions or ask her to change something, also her pedicure was the best. I was able to go in the middle of the day on a Tuesday So i was seated right away. I will say the pedicure water was a little lukewarm and they didn't have all of the bells and whistles that another salon might have, lotion leg massage but the foot massage was great and he took a lot of time (although not slow) with my feet, they were in dire need or a re haul. The mani was great, again he was fast and efficient and it seemed to dry really quickly. i used the blower at the nail station, which was great, i hate having to move to another station, and was in and out. I was able to walk in around 4 and get a pedicure with no wait. They had a great selection of polish colors. The jets in the tub were plugged up, which was pretty disappointing. The water was like warm and I didn't get much soak time. The technician was pretty rough with my toenails and not nearly rough enough on the heel scrubs. I still have calluses on my heels and ball of my foot. The lotion used was watery and smelled like what you buy at the dollar store. I felt sticky after it dried. The fan on my feet to dry the polish was very cold. The technician spoke to the others in another language the whole time pretty loudly and had her eye on the TV while doing the "message." They told me to sit at a desk and soaked one of my nails in acetone while the women who was supposed to do my nails left and did a women's pedicure instead. I have been going to DK Nails for 1 1/2 years and all of the ladies do a great job. I have gel nails and they usually last for 3 weeks and my pedicure looks good for about a month! I went in with my mother and my sister and had an awesome experience. My sister and I got a pedicure and a refill on our acrylics (which were done somewhere else and looked completely atrocious) and my mom had a mani/pedi. The staff was able to fix our acrylics and made them look natural. The staff was extremely nice, patient and took their time with us. absolute worst manicure & pedicure ive ever gotten. save your money and do not come here.

Last Friday $30.00 at this Salon got me a manicure and pedicure after work. The place looked nice enough and even though my manicurist paid no attention to me she worked fast and it only took an hour. However, in the end that prize was too high because my manicure only lasted 48 hours. Without lifting a finger the nail polish fell off by Monday morning. I explained what happened to the salon over the phone who advised that I stop by so they can "see" if they can help me. When I get there I am treated rudely and as if I was tying to con them. A man repeatedly says that it is not the color that I did some thing because its not the color...its not the color...if it was the color then he would have a line out side of people coming back to get theirs nail re painted, but that he can fix mine :rolls his eyes: I did not want a 2 day $30.00 (plus tip) manicure and to drive there after being told I can be helped only to be treated so sour. read more
