My daughter and I went in for pedicure and manicure my pedicure took exactly 2 hours.. way too long and a little bit ridiculous for a pedi. The gentleman was very slow didn't seem to know what he was doing. Put the kleenex in between my toes painted my toes and then right after that tried to take the kleenex out and botched the nail polish why he would take it out when he just painted my toenails I'm not sure. I've been coming to Dixon nails for a couple years but not regularly, just every once in a while and I've had pleasant pedicure experiences before but this time I got a regular pedicure with gel polish so my toes would look nice over summer and they dug under the corner my toe soooo bad :( I've had this happen before but I can't remember if I had cut my nails myself or if I came here but the whole side of my toe swells up and pus starts developing UNDER the skin then it hardens and I have to cut the skin and dig the pus out right before I leave for my vacation with my disgusting swollen bloody toe It healed after a couple and the pedicure looked nice after that but really? Great place! It was packed the whole time. Even though there was a line, they took their time with my pedicure. They had a massive wall full of different colors and brands. They have a lot more available than most salons. The staff was all very friendly as well. It's been a few days since I went, and my pedi is already chipping. For the past year or so I decided to finally quit biting my nails and let them grow out and look nicer which they have. I started to paint my nails on my own more often and as I started getting used to it I decided that I should finally try having them professionally done. My mom had takes to a lady that had gotten her nails done here and she highly recommended Richard, so she made an appointment for me. I was a little unsure of what to expect since I want done this ever before but it went wonderfully! Richard was very friendly and made conversation; although he mostly talked with my mom because I'm not much for talking. He asked me what I wanted to do, shape and paint my nails, and as he started working explained what he'd be doing and why. I really liked how he explained why he did things such as putting multiple coats on or fixing up my cuticles, it made me less nervous which I usually am no matter what. I ended up picking this pretty slightly sparkly pink gel color and it turned out very nice. For a first visit it went very well and I was really happy I went here! So I have been here before and had great service by Richard and David. Those 2 are the only people that can do nails... if you go there you need to plan on being there awhile. I get a certificate for my bday and decided to get my nails done as this is happening the phone is ringing oth and Nancy keeps answering it I was there forever and tried to tell her I wanted them shorter but it was too late. I'm in medical field and had to come back 2 days later to get them cut down they were rude about it much attitude. She flipping filed them down and let them be it was horrible I wish I had taken s pic... I immediately went somewhere else to get them fixed and had to pay $25 more to be done right!!! They took 1+ hour to do the regular pedicure, and 2+ hours to do a french manicure. I had a Bad experience about two years ago with this place I gave them another chance and I've been going there for about a year now. Not only do I get my nails done I get pedicures and my eyebrows done there too. after my experience tonight I don't expect I will be going there again. I normally see Richard for my nails, it has been increasingly hard to get an appointment with him lately so I make my appointment at least a week in advance. Tonight I got there a half hour early had my eyebrows done was sitting trying to choose my color my appointment time came up no one said anything to me I grew increasingly upset after 15 minutes and after a half hour I left. Wish I could leave a negative star review. This was by far the worst nail experience I've ever had and I've been held at gun point at a salon in Natomas. I was there for two hours and in that two hours I was given the worst set. It hasn't even been two weeks and I've broken four of the nails. I can understand this if I actually had a hard job or something physically demanding but I work a basic retail job in sales. All these nails are shockingly thin and I'm not surprised by the fact they break so easy. I broke one pulling up a zipper. A simple little zipper did in a nail? Not only are the nails thin, but they're misshapen and the top coat of the gel nail was allowed to drip and create awkward drips at the tips. The nail tech that did this also continue to cut my cuticles past the point of no return and left me with cuts on a majority of my fingers. Not only did she use the electric nail file to cut my cuticles but she also literally filed my knuckles with the board file because she wasn't paying attention. I can say with all honesty it was the worst $52 I spent and would never return to this salon and highly recommend against it. read more
