So first of all, I don't even know how to start this the amount of disappointment I have is unbearable. Let's just start off by stating how I got charged 75$+5 dollar tip that should've not been given, for some nails that weren't even CLOSE to the inspiration picture..The person who did my nails was an elder guy, which in my opinion he did a horrible job for the amount he charged me. When he was doing my nails he kept on drilling and filing my nails to the point I had to bite my tongue of how bad it hurt. and all of this just so that they wouldn't come out good is insane!!! Made an appointment for 2:30 - it's 3:03 - still not getting my pedicure. Horrible customer service. Why did I think they would actually be on time and care when they service customer? Just out for the buck. Overbooking and walk ins and they don't care how long you wait. Very rude, they just say wait and say 10 mins when it is really 30 or more minutes!!! Ridiculous!!! I've had many pedicures over the past 10 years at Dixon Nails, and the quality has been uniformly good. A couple of months ago, I tried acrylic nails for the first time in my life. They looked great and were extremely durable, but when I wanted them removed my experience at Dixon Nails took a nose dive. Being new to acrylic nails, I did a lot of reading about them. Every article said removal involved grinding down the surface, soaking in acetone to soften the acrylic, then scraping it off. the experts said NEVER to peel, chip or pull them off. The nail technician must not have done her homework. She chipped at the edges with a pair of sharp clippers, then pried them off. It was scary and uncomfortable when it wasn't extremely painful. I actually yelped in pain at one point, because she dug into the nail bed of my thumb. One of my natural nails tore in the process (not so severely as to bleed, but it's pretty ugly now). It was a crude and painful and damaging process that I wish never to repeat. I may continue to use Dixon Nails for basic pedis, but I will be finding a different salon if and when I decide to do acrylic nails again. read more

I have been coming here for pedicures for about 3 years now - and I've known they're not perfect. Sometimes my nails are crooked, sometimes they put too much polish & it dried all misshapen, they've cut me, or the polish around the cuticles is uneven. I've ignored it because I like the massages I like having my toes painted. But today was the last straw. I made an appointment for two pedicures at 1 pm, one for me and one for my daughter, who is 6 years old. I was not looking to pay for a kid pedicure, I wanted to pay the full price for a pedicure including massages - and was very specific about this. They made my 6 year old wait 45 minutes before starting, while taking & starting the nails on three separate walk-ins who didn't have appointments. I finally said "Did you guys see our appointment for 1 pm?" Yes, the two older people who run the shop said. And I replied, "Okay, because you keep taking walk ins and making my daughter wait, she's only 6." This was so rude and very poor customer service. I'm done. I'm all done. read more

I love that this nail salon allows for walks in! I went in for a pedi and they took their time! I loved the fact even though they were busy they didn't rush the leg massage. They have a wide variety of colors in polish. The polish lasted several weeks and you get what you pay for. read more

I went in on the evening of the 3rd for my first gel manicure and want a natural look as I don't paint my nails so went with a pearl white. They looked fine when I left at 7pm. When I woke up they were bright glow in dark white. The polish/gel was lumpy and u could see through to real nail. It was a $40 service and I gave a $4 tip. I called early the next day to get them corrected/redone.....they actually had the nerve to say it will be $25 as they don't refund due to color, I reiterated it wasn't just the color but again they wouldn't budge so I left as not to cause a scene. I actually got a phone call from them today saying I had 3pm appt. I didn't not but told the lady my issues because 2 nails are chipped already. She hung up on me. This is the worst customer service I've experienced in quite sometime. To me its completely BS. I have my mom's 80th bday party on Sunday but no more funds to repair. Can anyone help me in Dixon or Vacaville CA. Between now and Saturday night? Free? Big discount? This all makes me so sad because I would get a monthly pedicure from there with no issues. Didn't actually get serviced here so the 1 star is based on my limited but not good experience with this location. Called to schedule an appointment and when I got there 3 people were ahead of me and every single chair with an employee was booked and nobody was almost done. Was sat in the second waiting chair and was told to pick a color. As I go to get up my flip flop slips and i get a deep cut on my foot from the sharp table bottom. Needless to say I had to leave and not risk getting an infection. Let's start off by stating if it wasn't for Sam this place would get one star from me. There was a cockroach in the bathroom There is no point in calling for an appointment because they still make you wait and switch from one chair to the next. I've had a few encounters with Tiffany and she is just always in a bad mood or she is just rude, very snappy and always has an attitude as if she doesn't want to be there or speak with anyone. Get. Your. Nails. Done. By. Tiffany. That girl is amazing. I came in for a simple fill but she automatically improved my former mani by fixing the lifting, and spending a ton of time reshaping them. She was super friendly, explained everything she was doing, and was always checking to make sure I liked it. I told her I just wanted an almond shape and a natural-pink look. She absolutely NAILED it. And I think she spent extra time buffing and shaping because I'd had a poor manicure at another salon. She really cares about the whole 3-dimensional shape of the nail and how it will grow out, not just the shape of the tip. She did 2 coats of OPI "put it in neutral" and then one coat of Aqua Pink Sheer (didn't get the brand on that). Both very sheer natural nudes and made my nails look so natural and glowy. (Side note: other reviewers have mentioned it, but don't have your nails done by the older gentleman tech. He is not as skilled and does poor artwork. No matter if you make an appointment Dixon nails is never on time such a disappointment. I scheduled in advance with Jennifer to be her first customer and at my time she was in the middle of a pedicure with another client, no one said hello or be right with you after waiting 20 minutes I left and went across the way to the only other nail shop around. After prepping my nails it was discovered I had a nail fungus which was not apparent while the polish was on. I had to have all my powder nails removed and treated my nail with fungus medication. Bad customer service lack of respect for customers time always rushing and running behind. Basic cleanliness and sterilization techniques not up to code. Not a happy work environment no one smiles or appears to enjoy their job. I will never return. Extremely rude and in need of training on how to greet and treat customers. read more

Went for pedicures with my adult daughter and my 4 year old. I had an older woman slap my legs around for 45 mins and was very rude toward us. Paid for the expensive package but it felt basic. I knew as a walk in I wasn't looking to get an appointment right away but they were able to take me quickly and they paired me with a male nail tech, unfortunately I didn't get his name because I was already so upset I couldn't wait for my service to be over. Let me start from the beginning, i showed him how I wanted my nails and showed him about 3 times with a picture and said he could do them. But by the time the service was over he said he couldn't do what I asked and got angry when I asked for a different color so I just asked for glitter on top which didn't fix it at all. It was my first time at this salon today. I asked for two pedicures with my boyfriend. The pedicure was great. However I asked for a gel manicure after. I chose a pink color, once my manicurist was done and sprayed alcohol I'm assuming (it was in an acetone bottle) the gel polish became gooey and the manicure was ruined. The manicurist took off the gel with a drill but burned my nail with the drill. After wards she redid my nails. My fingers were dry. Nails were not painted fully on sides and my finger was cut up. My boyfriend decided to get a regular manicure and bled afterwards again. It was a painful experience . I do not recommend. read more

I went in for a pedicure and manicure and I noticed once I arrived home my right big toe nail was about 3/4 painted and the rest was not. Because I was going to a party I went back the next day early in the morning. I told them why I was there and the owner and the lady kept talking in a language that I did not understand. Until one of the guys "Robert" said she says she can't paint skin. I said what are you talking it's not skin it's my toe. He asked if he could touch and obviously told them it was my toe nail. They painted my nail without removing the paint I had from the prior day, obviously it left it uneven. I told the owner and she walked away. The scrubbing was also poorly done. My mom and I showed up 5 minutes early for our appointment. They started right away on her pedicure and told me I would have to wait for my manicure. No problem, must be 10 or 15 minutes. 45 minutes later the only time someone has even talked to me was to tell me to move so they could start on another girl's manicure. I have been looking for a place that is creative and understands what I am looking for. I contacted this salon through yelp messaging and got a response immediately! The person I spoke to understood what I wanted. When I got the salon they did my pedi first. I chose the all-natural Pedi for $40 and it was amazing! The lady who did my feet really did a great job and she massaged my feet for a while which I really needed! Already a great experience. Rich was the guy who did my nails and oh my god do they look amazing! I couldn't have asked for anything better he captured my vision on how I wanted my nails done through picture and explanation. Unfortunately, just today one of my nails broke, and well I called back and got an appointment with Rich to have it fixed. It is a little discouraging that my nail broke after 2 days of having them done but the best thing is to just go back and have it fixed no biggie! Nails break depending on everyday activities as well as sometimes the nail used was faulty and no one could have told that. I've been coming here for manicures, pedicures, and brow waxes for about 5 years. I think I've had my nails done by all of the nail technicians here, and I'm happy with all of them and their work. If I had a tiny, super minor complaint, it would be that sometimes it takes hours to get a gel mani/pedi done; so make sure you have enough time blocked off if that's what you want. However, the nail technicians only take that long because they're very detail-oriented. They obviously take pride in their work, going over my cuticles, nail shaping, etc. repeatedly until my nails are perfect. I don't really have a regular technician that I'm "loyal" to because I prefer to just walk in and have my nails done by whoever is available. But if I had a favorite technician it would probably be Helen. Her hand/arm massages are the best, and my nails are always flawless when she does them. read more

Jennifer gave me the best pink and white I've ever gotten. This is my new regular spot and I'll recommend Dixon Nails to everyone. I was also lucky to be the first customer on Chinese New Year, so one of the employees gave me a New Years gift! The service here is amazing and they always seem busy, but also welcome walk-ins, which is much better than a different local nail place that books appointments a month out because there's one employee working at a time. I don't normally do this but I feel after giving this salon at least 5 different tries to please me I would explain the 1 Star. Every time I have left unhappy and felt as though my money could have been spent someplace else for a better experience, better result and cheaper price. Today was the last straw, I called at 9:30am when they open to request an appointment for a dip fill and pedicure, the man who did my nails seem to do well in the beginning, but once I looked at the way he has been filing my nails I noticed that they are ALL different lengths and are NOT straight. Then on top of that I told him I wanted a green and a grey pointed to the exact ones and he came back with red and brown. Red and brown, that's not even close, then I proceeded to tell him I asked for the green because at this time I didn't notice that the other one he grabbed was brown and not Grey. He came back with the correct one but again, the other color wasn't correct either. Then I started to get into the pedicure seat and I sat there for so long without someone coming over the water actually got cold. When the lady came over and just asks what I want and I tell her gel polish the same green as my nails but no scrub on my feet I'm too ticklish, well she starts trimming my nails and filing. At one point she poked the side of my toe so hard it remained pink for the remainder of the pedicure. She kept going to town on my feet moving faster than she should have been and kept slightly pinching/clipping my skin. Not quite sure what she was trying to accomplish. She seemed to be too worried about everyone else In the spa rather than focusing on what she was doing to my feet. My fingers look terrible cuticles hurt, toes hurt and Let's just leave I will not be going back and I hope others take my review in consideration Update: a little over 24 hours after and they have already broken. Another update: my toe was infected because the lady poked my skin I messaged the lady and got absolutely no response.. way to go Dixon nails! read more
