Sunday Brunch

Simply, another fantastic meal at Dixboro Project! My bestie is visiting from out of town and I wanted to take her out for a special lunch. We ordered a few rounds of drinks and then enjoyed Squash Blossoms which were tempura battered and stuffed with ricotta. They were amazing! We both tried a Parisian Chicken Entree, that was rich & savory! We had an absolute blast enjoying the food and catching up!

I love Dixboro and tell people about it every chance I get. Their dinner and brunch menus are ever-changing and based on seasonal and fresh ingredients. The ambiance and decor is modern and tasteful with lots of natural light and earthy touches. I came with a friend recently for brunch and we got the duck confit egg benedict and it was so good. The Boro is their bakery that sells freshly baked goods and pastries and delicious coffees & teas. I've had their lemon bar and garlic cream cheese croissant recently and they were delicious. The bakery menu also changes.

Apple pizza , sweet potato appetizer, pumpkin pie deconstructed

Amazing food , menu is always changing - food art . The service is fabulous - great wine events - very cozy and modern environment- desserts are delicious - large wine selection

Steak and Eggs - Get the chimichirri sauce on the side. It's not good.

We've been back to the Dixboro Project twice. Once for brunch, and the other for dinner. First, the brunch. My husband got the Corned Beef Hash, and pronounced it the best he'd ever had. I tried the Steak and Eggs, and it was just ok. The steak lacked flavor, and the accompanying Chimichurri sauce was a bit too tart for my liking. I did enjoy the potatoes. Another drawback - I like to get my eggs sunny side up and dip toast into the yolk. No toast came with this dish, and it cost me $7 for a single piece of toast! It was nothing special, just toast, butter, and jam. I really enjoyed our dinner visit. We started with the Onion Roll, which was absolutely delicious. It tasted like an oniony, buttery Parker House roll. The garlic butter was so good! We split a Field Green Salad, which is more than enough for two. It's delicious and a perfect mixture of flavors. We also split the Walleye, and the Ribeye Steak. Both were phenomenal, and I would order them again.

I have been dying to visit Dixboro Project but since we live an hour and a half away, it's hard to justify paying a babysitter the additional three hours just to travel up to try. This Sunday, my mom invited myself and my siblings to join her for brunch. The ambience was amazing - with lovely natural lighting and gorgeous table settings. The menu makes every dish seem mouthwatering and delicious. When the plates came out, they were gorgeous and the food looked so inviting. Unfortunately, the taste was completely lacking. If you're going to charge the prices they're charging, the flavor should be amazing in every single bite. We sampled four different dishes, and none blew me away. Some, were even borderline "bad." Here's a rundown: mushroom pizza - the description makes it seem like it will be cheesy and full of flavor, but it was very one note duck confit pizza - had three pieces of duck on it and was otherwise covered in hot peppers lemon blueberry pancake - more of a skillet cake - sauce was the best part, otherwise dry on the bottom Raclette burger - $30 which is almost comparable in price to a burger I had at The Four Seasons in Maui. That burger, was worth every penny. This one had absolutely no flavor. The meat tasted like mush - definitely lacked seasoning, and there was not a speck of cheese to be found. If you're going to call a burger a raclette, it should be oozing with cheese. grilled Romaine salad - leaves were bitter and the dressing again, looked delicious, but had no flavor. The flavors did not compliment each other at all - with the pickled grapes, taking away from the dish and contrasting very starkly against the rotten tasting lettuce Brown sugar oat milk latte - really the only thing that delivered both on looks and on flavor. Sadly, not high on my list of places to return. It kind of made me think of Vegas: lots of pomp and glam which momentarily distracts you into thinking you're having the best time of your life. But in retrospect, not very fulfilling.

Ran out of bass four hours before close and dinner menu is limited. I got the trout (overpriced) which was salty and fishy. Others in party also did not like taste of food. Went to celebrate birthday and you will have to purchase dessert but with the taste of the food and limited dessert menu again we did not want to chance it. Friendly hostess staff

I went for brunch with some friends for Galentine's and it was such a treat! First the space is so beautiful and rustic. It's cozy yet elevated and perfect for a special event with friends. The staff is always welcoming and helpful. The food was phenomenal! Probably the best in Ann Arbor. We loved the pizza and the Apple Miso pancake. The coffee was great too. I will definitely be back

My wife and I stopped by on a whim. She wanted to share one of her favorite spots. We were able to get a table during Sunday brunch. Reservations are recommended. Dining is upscale but not stuffy. INGREDIENTS make a difference. Seasonal items are featured in their dishes. Although lite, our meal checked all the boxes. Flavor, freshness and texture. So good. I enjoyed a pear ginger cider with my meal. I hoped for more ginger flavor to come through but it was refreshing nonetheless. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be coming back to try more of what's on the menu.

Caesar salad (very good; love the bread crumbs)

My hubby and I passed by at 3:45pm on a Friday and were seated although we don't have a res. They only serve pizza and some appetizer before 4pm so we were right on time for the dinner menu. I love the atmosphere and decoration of the restaurant, and our servers were attentive and friendly. We ordered caesar salad, dozen oysters, mushroom pizza (good but get cold quickly), butternut squash gnocchi, shells n cheese, pommes aligot , and all of these dishes were salty excluding the pizza, salad, and oysters. I am unsure if it is a Michigan palette thing (I recently moved here from California), but half of the food we ordered were very salty. I couldn't even have a 3rd bite and have to throw away our leftovers the next day cause it didn't get any better. Apparently, we won't come back here because the food palette here is just not for us. P/s: Be careful at the thin water glass because I got served with a chipped top glass and almost cut my lower lip. The server apologized and changed a new glass for me. However, I honestly think the glass is so fragile, and they should change it.

I cannot believe I haven't reviewed dixboro yet. This is the best restaurant near Ann Arbor in my opinion. The food is amazing and always fresh and innovative. I have been 3 or 4 times now and it gets better and better every time. The brunch is amazing but dinner is better. The steak tartare is great! I liked the oysters, the mushroom pizza is a must get and the pumpkin pasta that they had in season this fall was wonderful. The steak you can skip, it was more potatoes than meat. For brunch the burger, French toast, and cookie are all great. The cocktails are also very fun and yummy. I cannot say enough great things about this restaurant! I recommend to everyone and bring all my friends for special occasions. The service is also good, I've been for an anniversary and 2 birthdays and they are very attentive and rotate by the table an appropriate amount. Huge fan!!

Finally made it in to check out brunch here. Amazing menu with delicious options. Shared the babka French toast which was excellent. The egg sandwich was phenomenal. The raclette burger was top notch. We also shared a scone which was amazing. Great service, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Fun atmosphere. Looking forward to a future stop.

I went here to check it out because I have never been here before. I would definitely recommend reservations. You can't even sit at the bar without them when it is busy. I was chased away from the bar because I did not have a reservation. I gave the host my name and waited for about 45 minutes. There is a decent amount of parking. I would consider this place a little on the upscale side although casual. It is attached to a take out spit called the Boro. We finally got a seat at the bar. I decided on the salad and a drink. The salad was great and was a nice size. I also tried to pepperoni pizza which was a tasty pizza. Not too much dough, sauce or cheese overpowering it. The prices can get steep here. A salad was $20 without protein. However, it is a nice place to go for a meetup or event. I am glad I finally checked it out.

Came in excited for food and cocktails! Beautiful space, but overall was so underwhelmed. Lunch menu was, fine, things I would eat but nothing that excited. The two items I ordered were both unavailable (Cream of Mushroom Soup and Woodfire Roasted Squash). We were going to leave but decided to split the Waygu burger, cooked medium. The kitchen split it for us (great), however it was cooked almost well done. Cutting the burger exposed the cook temp to both kitchen/expo and server, neither of which looked, or cared enough to note that it was not cooked to order. The fries were good. Drink menu tried to hard and they didnt have the patio open on a gorgeous day. Really disappointed and unfortunately wasnt worth the trip.

Super expensive, decent food but not worth the wait and price. Better off spending the evening downtown where events are happening.

Great food and service in both the take away area and in the main dining room. I especially liked the lemon cupcakes.

Ask the Community - Dixboro Project

Has anyone tried Dixboro at Home? Is it worth the price?

We tried the fried chicken meal for 2 this week and it was delicious. We found the price was fair given that we pay at least that much for dinner out these days. Everything was packaged very well and the food was still warm when it got home to us,…

Is the lunch menu for takeout only? Or can one dine in for lunch.

We dined in two weeks ago - it was a late lunch and we were surprised by how busy they were.

After thoroughly searching Yelp, Google, and Reddit, I decided to check out Moonwinks this time. I arrived right as they were opening at 8 am and immediately loved the parking lot and plentiful seating inside. They also have some outside seating. Ann Arbor seems to have quite a few of these cafe/bar combination concepts so I think this spot turns into a bar in the evening. I ordered the Sammy's best (bacon, egg, spinach, tomato, swiss, and garlic aioli) on an asiago bagel as well as an oat milk latte. They brought my order out to my table when it was ready. The wifi was super fast and I was able to get quite a bit of work done. The bagel sandwich was super tasty and the asiago bagel was the cheesiest I've had in awhile! The garlic aioli gave it a bit of a zip and I really enjoyed this. The latte was smooth and creamy, not the best I've ever had, but it did the trick. I'm so glad I gave this spot a chance and will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. It was getting pretty busy by 9 am, so get there early if you'd like a table.

On a weekday evening, it wasn't too busy, so we could relax, chat, and enjoy our time together without feeling rushed by the staff. Just the kind of laid-back atmosphere I enjoyed. This isn't a traditional sit-down café or restaurant where a server takes your order. You order and pay at the counter. When I first walked in, there weren't anybody there, so I had to wait briefly, but it was no big deal at all. The panini like sandwich (I forgot the name of it) was kind of plain but was fresh at least. Overall, a lovely spot for a relaxed catch-up in a unique and atmospheric setting. Definitely a place to consider when you're looking for something a little different!

It would be nice if the drinks were less expensive. A few things to note (and the only reason it's not a 5 star): - The website needs to be updated. I just wanted to peak at the menu, but there is no real website-- just a page that says it still hasn't fully opened yet, but it's been open for months. - When I clicked "order online" to try a different way to peak at the menu, that was also a dead end. Maybe just when I looked but either way, not great. - What made this place extra special and why it stood out from everywhere else in Ann Arbor was its late night hours. It effectively offered the only off-campus late night study spot (especially on Friday and Saturday, when the libraries and every other coffee shop is closed). I understand it's extremely costly to keep a business open when it's slow, but I hope it will go back soon.
