Recently the heater went out and I was tired of messing with the company we'd originally purchased and had install the 5 ton 16 SEER Trane (nothing can stop a Trane right ... well until it just conks out four months after the 10 year warranty expires) unit. In the past Matt had suggested we call the original seller/installer or someone licensed to service Trane. Now this event came round and I refused to deal with the blankety blank company, so the husband called a company in Arlington. The service call went excellently, the office staff calling in to alert me of the expected timeline for the service agent. The service agent was kind, courteous and thorough. He even called a senior skilled person getting confirmation of the diagnosis to ensure all was correct. I'd highly recommend that company. However, I wanted a second opinion from someone I trusted. Matt agreed to come over and examine our system. By this time we'd been without heat for a week and thankfully the cold was gone for a few days. After about an hour Matt came back in and walked me through the problems and why we had no heat and eventually no cooling too. We went outside and he showed me the problem with the outside unit, I declined to climb into the attic ... I'd take his word on that part. I explained about the estimate from the Arlington based company, and he went through it. He told me that the estimate of work and the pricing from said company was fair and about what he'd expected for a replacement Trane system. I then asked him what would he do if he were to install a new unit. He explained, then came up with a price for a different brand (same as what he put in his moma's house), same tonnage and SEER. A bit over a week later Matt and his crew showed up early one morning, pulled out the old stuff and installed all new. By lunchtime they'd cleaned up the place, loaded up the old stuff into the back of their vehicles and were on their way out. Why'd I go with Matt Hunt? Because he told us the Arlington company quoted a fair price for the labor and materials. Because he's worked on our appliances for ten'ish years. He's local. He quickly connects when I reach out to him. He'll take care of us (the appliances). His way of doing business speaks of integrity.

C&S persevered and after fixing and replacing faulty duct work the problem with the air flow was solved but the thud continued. I contacted Phil who sent Cole to track down the mysterious thud. He found it , and corrected it within a few minutes . Everyone I worked with at C&S was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable . Cole is an excellent technician . Toward the end of last summer, our A/C could not keep up with the heat. We knew it was not holding…read moreFreon, as we had Freon added previously, and it was expensive. Certain refrigerants are no longer being produced, and they are very expensive. We wanted to get out from under the 28 year old system, so opted to have a complete new system installed. Brandt Dickey recently installed a new HVAC system in our home. We had a few quotes, and Brandt's was in the middle. Brandt also came highly recommended by my bother-in-law, and has been doing work for him for a very long time. So we went with Dickey's A/C. As the system is barely a week old, and I have not had to use the A/C yet, I am only going to comment on the installation. As the summer approaches, and temperatures rise, I will likely update this review (when the system is put to the real test as temperatures rise). I may also update when the temperatures drop again, as this is a heat-pump system, so primary cooling will done by reversing the system. I never really quite understood heat-pump technology, but now that I have a better understanding, it's pretty neat. The removal of the old system and the install of the new went fairly smoothly. However, when it came to start the system up, there were two problems. It was late, so Brandt needed to come back the next day. Both problems were fully resolved the following day, but it did require me to be home again. Problem 1: The system not switching into heat-pump mode. This turned out to be a mis-inserted wire on the thermostat. Easy fix. Oh, on the subject of the thermostat, a new one, and wiring, was required. Heat-pump systems require more control wires, and the old wiring did not have enough wires. This meant a new wire was run from outdoor unit to indoor unit, and from indoor unit to (new) thermostat. Problem 2: The system was not holding pressure, and this turned out to be a bad weld in a hard to see place. Also easily fixed, once the leak was located. The system was now 100% functional. Yay! Brandt did a good job of cleaning up and hauling the old stuff away. Sure, the recyclers would have gladly picked (some of) this stuff up, but it was nice not to deal with (any) it. So all and all, a pretty good experience. I can't wait to see how the new system works, in both the summer and winter. I'm happy that my wife thought of getting this done now, in the cooler temps, as waiting until summer might have meant higher prices and longer waits. Oh, and I think this new system may result in a tax break, as it meets some energy efficiency guidelines. So hopefully less tax next year, and smaller electricity bills throughout the year. Bottom line: It's going to be cool to be cool! PS. The system is a Goodman. The main reason for selecting this system was size. We have some tricky spaces to deal with, and Goodman fit the spaces the best. I was skeptical of the brand, but Brandt said they have gotten a lot better over the years. Even so, I may opt for the extended warranty, at least on the more expensive outdoor unit (compressor).

Today they replaced a capacitor that they replaced a year ago and apologized multiple times that it went out so soon and that they had a faulty batch of capacitors. They replaced it for free and offered to cover part of my electric bill if running the upstairs a/c so hard for a couple of days made the bill higher than normal. That's how customer service is done. I will use them every time I need a/c work. The negative review here is so completely opposite of what I have experienced from these folks over the past couple of years using them.

I filed claim with American home warranty and they assigned it to Co-Z Air…read more I had a lot of anxiety over this because of all the horror stories you hear about the warranty companies and what is not covered with AC failures. Our 20 year old R22 compressor finally gave up. The Technician did an excellent job diagnosing it quickly and submitted for a compressor replacement to the warranty company. The warranty company approved it and ordered it right away. It took the compressor several days to come in because the warranty company does the ordering and the whole process took us a week to get it replaced, but there was no delay from Co-Z air. Jeremy received the compressor Tuesday afternoon and they were out the next day to complete the install. $200 for Freon/old compressor disposal and we were back in business. Thanks for doing us right guys and thanks for the diligence. Texas and no AC is no fun!
