It took many months of back and forth to get this company to meet code for makeup air from the vent hood. Several reps from performance told us that they don't have to meet irc code - only city code. City defers to licensed hvac companies, and hvac companies are bound by their license to meet code. I had to get a letter from the city before Performance would come out and correct the issue. It also took over a year to get them to insulate our drain line - which is just a piece of foam. After moving in, we had several independent move in inspections by two licensed professional inspectors, and one licensed MAC. All 3 said we need our system repaired to comply with irc/manufacturer standards, and recommended we hire a third party hvac specialist to come out. That specialist we hired was shocked at how bad the install was. We had negative pressure and his readings clearly showed we were well over the limits that trane allows. Performance also sold us a "whole house dehumidifier" that was not tied into the upstairs at all. We had no idea! We had to file a complaint with Trane just to get performance to come figure out our negative pressure issue, and the readings/data sheet they took on our house - they refuse to share with us. Performance instead hung onto the data sheet for 10 whole days before sending it to Trane, when all they needed was a screenshot of those numbers. Magically, Trane says the numbers they sent were ok - despite a report from a previous Trane comfort rep for 12 years saying otherwise. There is only one reason you don't want to share your data sheet numbers. Buyer beware! I highly recommend Crossway mechanical to fix any issues. As of June 2025 performance has not returned to correct any issues, nor follow up. read more

My home is a new construction and after living at the residence the home was struck by lightening and I had to buy another unit. A year into the second unit the heat pump stopped working because the coil was leaking refrigerant . I called for warranty repair and the tech came out and wants to charge me $2700 to do the repair on the lemon they sold me that leaked refrigerant that leaked because their lemon and the cost of refrigerant for them is over $100 a lbs. and 8lbs needed to fill it up and I would have to pay for labor as well. Their crappy work led to the leak and then they have the audacity to want to turn an 800% profit on me because they think no one else can do it. I had a complete Trane Heat Pump system installed in Oct 2019 because of the Trane name and convincing sales person. They were also very competitive on price. Fast forward to Oct 2021 when I came in from a weekend trip only to find my ac wasn't working. Called on Sunday night and left message on the answering machine. By Monday morning 9:30am I hadn't heard from anyone. I initiated the call and spoke with Melody and she set up a service call for that afternoon. When the technician arrived he discovered oil in the bottom of the evaporater pan. Said it was leaking and needs to be replaced. Melody called me back that afternoon with a quote of $1071.00 to replace and the evaporater coil was under warranty. I bellowed and cried foul but what other choice did I have. They came out today, Nov 8, 2021 and replaced the evaporater coil, I was prepared to pay the $1071.00 just like I was quoted and the repairman said $2196.00, I blew a gasket and told him that was not what I was quoted. They wanted to charge me $125 a lb, for 9 lbs of freon. After conversation with Shane (mgr) he reduced the bill to $1571 because Trane will cover 5 lbs of freon under warranty. They weren't going to charge me in regards to that! So, be cautious in getting quotes and should probably get them in writing up front because it always comes down to he said, she said and the customer never is right any more. Shane did say he could have them take the coil out but he knew I wasn't going to do that but had they quoted me 2196.00 up front, I would have called someone else just based on principle. read more

We needed a new system and were completely down. Drew came out the same day as we called and was able to get us scheduled immediately for the replacement of our system. Victor and the crew arrived Monday morning and were highly professional, courteous and prompt with their services. The entire HVAC system and air ducts were replaced in one day and work beautifully. I cannot say enough great things about Performance Heat and Air, and Chad Wells! When the heating system on one of our 3 HVAC units started failing recently we decided to get bids from a few companies and replace all of the HVAC systems in our home. I found Performance Heat and Air online, I read the reviews and decided to call them to get a bid. I am so glad I did! Chad came out, looked at our old systems and asked us what type of system we were considering getting for replacement. I told him we really did not know what our options were, we just wanted something that would be efficient and would properly heat and cool our house for many years. He sat down with us and explained the 3 types of systems available, and their differences and advantages. He did not pressure us in any direction, just let us know how each type worked and what made them different, and allowed us to choose what we thought would be the best fit for us. Purchasing 3 systems is a huge investment. We were getting bids from other companies but price was not all that I was interested in. I wanted a company that had a good reputation, sold a good system and really cared about the customers and providing the best possible service. I really think we got this from Performance. The other companies were telling me what they thought we needed to get, Chad took the time to educate us and let us decide what we needed. We chose to purchase 3 variable speed Trane HVAC systems and I must say they are amazing! We have only used the heat thus far but the comfort level of our home is 100 times better than it was. If you need service on your HVAC system or are considering a new system for your home I highly recommend you call Performance Heat and Air!
