But gradually, their service has deteriorated to terrible. Technician came out twice over the course of two weeks to fix problem. Each time he said it was something different and each time charged for the same problem. Which was never properly repaired. This same thing happened last year on a different unit and they made a small adjustment to the bill. This time, called twice to ask to speak to owner. Never received a call back. Found another company who came out the same day. Fixed the problem and charged a fraction of Grant's inflated invoice.

When Sonny and his staff evaluated the situation, it was determined that some of the repairs quoted by the previous company were not necessary at that time. Thus, the quote provided to us by Sonny and his staff was significantly lower. Each year going forward, Sonny provided the service for our very old unit. Going forward to December, 2019, the life cycle of the old unit was rapidly coming to an end. Since we like to browse what competitors offer, we secured two quotes from competitors. We were not pleased with the price, clarity of the details, and professionalism of the presenters. Therefore, we called Sonny to come and provide an assessment of the problems with our old unit. It was verified that the life cycle of our old unit was coming to an end. So, we requested that Sonny provide us his quote. They have been a pleasure to work with and extremely professional. I've requested their service three times since we moved in. Once for an assessment, once fir a problem and today to move forward with two of their recommendations. Their crew were great guys, polite, respectful and very neat and clean. Every area that they had to walk on was covered and vacuumed when they left. We had a crew of four and all were excellent. The main point of contact for us is Cory. He does all the tech evaluation, assesses the problem and fixes on site unless it needs equipment that needs to be ordered and replaced. Cory checked in three times today, once in person. I recommend highly and plan on using them going forward. If I could rate 6 stars, I would.

After looking through several websites, I decided to give Texas Discount Air a call first because of their competitive service call price ($29 at the time of this review). I was able to speak to a live person when I called around 8:00am, and we were able to setup an appointment the same afternoon (I didn't even bother calling anyone else since they were able to help me so quickly). The time scheduled was between 1:00 - 2:00, and Todd Hoffman (the owner of the business) showed up at my house at 1:00 on the dot. I explained my issue to him, and he listened then diagnosed my unit. He quickly determined that everything looked in order, but I was low on coolant. He explained that I must have a small leak in the system, and then outlined my options. He was very knowledgeable, directly answered all of my questions, and recommended in my situation that for now I should have him fill the coolant to the correct levels (which was my choice, as well). The entire time he was friendly and informative, which I appreciated, and at no point did he pressure me into doing something that was more than required. He conducted himself in a professional manner the entire service call and performed the work quickly, but never seemed like he was in a hurry to get to the next customer. The cost of the service call was extremely fair based upon previous work I've had done on my AC units, and the $29 service call fee was credited towards the repair cost, as well as a service discount coupon that I found on their website. Based on my experience, I highly recommend using Texas Discount Air for your AC repair needs, and I will happily refer my neighbors and friends to them.

The first company came out and tried quoted us for about $1600 to fix the issue. We called Texas Discount Air we told him the issue and he immediately knew what it was but said he would come out and take a look just to confirm the problem before he quoted us. We called him late in the afternoon and he got out here the next day. $500 dollars he was in and out in 2 hours if that, and our AC is working again. This Texas heat is no joke and it's only May. Great service, friendly guy. We kept his card and will use him in the future because it's hard to find a good company that's honest and not trying to pad their pockets.

By the way they schedule you with a 3hr window and you have to make sure you are ready but more than likely they won't be. Not a good value.

I called Hobson Comfort Experts/AC Genius and got an appointment the next day! Their technician, Mike Robles, was personable, neat (pink booties for October breast awareness!!), and professional. The first thing he noticed was my thermostat was not installed properly and he immediately fixed it. He checked out the furnace unit, found the problem, did his "magic", and the BLOWER WORKED! He also changed my filter (which was filthy!) AND ordered me additional filters. All in all, Mike did an OUTSTANDING job. ALL of the technicians I've had from Hobson Comfort Experts/AC Genius have been great! Mike was Super Great!
