I am very impressed with this company because of their outstanding employees. Matt Torres was our technician this time and he was very thorough, patient, and helpful. This is the secont time we have used 1st Choice HVAC and they have never cut corners in their evaluation of our HVAC system, patiently point out any problems, and suggest what is needed to extend the life of the system and keep everything running at its best, without being pushy or salesy. Matt made a recommendation that made since to protect our system from power fluctuations and we took it. Matt was also helpful when I asked him if they also did electrical work and I found out they didn't. He asked what the problem was, and when I described the problem to him he said I might just need to change the light bulb in the closet. When I told him that due to some balance problems I could not get really do that, he immediately volunteered to help, changed it, and that did the trick. We just had our home built a year ago, and of course the AC decides not to blow cold air RIGHT as the warranty expires on labor with Airtron. After finally getting a hold of them, we were told they only service our home if we have a membership ($25/month), but it didn't cover labor. So I decided to look up reviews and call around. 1st Choice popped up and they were available to come out immediately so 5/5 on fast service. Price-wise: I have a feeling we are paying more but we didn't want to play around anymore since it's already 90 degrees and the ac isn't working. We needed a fast solution. Riley came out and diagnosed the problem quickly, the TXV needed replacement. The part was covered under Carrier warranty, not the labor as is the case many places. Riley recommended two other parts be replaced to extend the life of the unit. He wrote down three quotes, the basic "get it fixed and go" price was $800. The middle was just replacing one of the recommended parts plus the TXV plus a maintenance plan, $1300. And the highest was $1500 replacing all recommended parts plus the TXV and maintenance plan. The maintenance plan doesn't cover labor (as the pattern goes!) which is $60 each time they come out which is twice a year for unit maintenance. Our problem is the actual part needed to fix the AC isn't something they carry and needed to be shipped. So for now we have no air, not sure if we're paying for a hotel or what at this point. We're just HOPING the part comes in fast so we can go about our lives. Maybe this helps someone, just shop around for labor pricing. Because you're going to end up paying that either way. We have been having issues with ac unit for 2 years now and every time we got "oh its this" or "oh its that we just changed it" and never did they even cleared codes that were telling them what was wrong with it they even put insulation on the door near the furnace which is gas which needs air to cool off they did it to "keep the hot air in and keep the cool air out" as they put it but every time my grandmother calls they send someone out to "look at it and diagnose the issue" when they know whats wrong with it but never wanted to fix it they even had a supervisor come out and look at it too and even he didn't do any thing to fix it they want to over charge elderly people and get more money out of them but they dont want to fix their fault systems or parts but they want to make you pay out of pocket for the labor and parts don't be scammed by them dont let them waste your money or time!!!! read more

Gave an estimate for $2200 for replacing three parts under Carrier warranty. Insisted that despite the warranty, there would be still a charge and would not break down the costs into "parts" and "labor" so that I could see I was nothing charge for the part. I got a second opinion from another Carrier certified dealer and he fixed in $200 and sorted out the warranty with Carrier. There unit is working very well and I just cannot get my head around 1st choice air solutions charges which are over the moon. read more

Installation was not done the way it was sold to me, company has been very confrontational when called for service (unless they think they're getting paid), and now they're refusing to honor the remainder of our contract. I wouldn't wish these people on my worst enemy. I support small business, but just not this one. I am however, willing to change review if they fix all issues! Update WARNING BEWARE! This company is a nightmare. STAY AWAY! The 1st thing they did was say they would arrive by 10am. No show and no call, other than mine to them asking where they were. They did not arrive until about noon. Once there, the tech worked on the system until 5:00 to get the heat working, and it was about 5:00pm when he said he fixed it. Then he set me up on a maintenance program and charged me the agreed amount for service. I turned on the system after 5:00 pm and the unit still had the same problem as before. He fixed nothing. The company then rescheduled for the 3rd of Jan. The same tech worked on the system Jan 3rd, and again was unable to repair the system, which was LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD at the time and still under warranty. The tech then wanted to order some parts from LG and return. The next day I called the LG rep and he told me to tell the tech company (1st Choice) that they needed their tech to be at the unit and call them on LG's service line, so they could do a diagnostic with the tech over the phone, and TELL HIM what the problem was. I called the 1st Choice and told them what the LG REP said, and they refused to come back and do the diagnostic with LG before ordering any more parts. That was nuts. LG is the one who produced the unit. Instead, they insisted on sticking with their techs idea and ordered some parts. On Jan 27th, more than 1 month without heat, the tech shows up and puts in the parts that his almighty wisdom told him to put in, which took him about 30 - 40 minutes. We turn the system on, and AGAIN, IT DOES NOT WORK. That was the 3rd time I wasted my time meeting this tech that could not do his job right. Then to add insult to injury, he tried to charge me $452 for less than an hour's work installing parts that did not fix the issue, and parts that were under warranty with LG. I told him no, and I later called their office and told them no to the charges, and to never come to my home again. Next, I called another company, who came out, called the LG service tech on the spot, as they should, they diagnosed the problem together, received new parts for THE ACTUAL PROBLEM, installed them, and charged me less than the $452 that 1st Choice wanted to charge for their last visit, which resulted in nothing being fixed. NOW, THE REAL KICKER. 1st Choice then made an unapproved credit card charge on my credit card for $452 and are refusing to reimburse it. They received my credit card information from their service agreement info filled out in December, that was only authorized for their monthly $12 service agreement fee, and nothing else. The only authorization they had was for the $12 per month service agreement fee. They are so low (in my opinion and it should be yours) that they went to the information reserved only for the $12 per month charge and charged the unauthorized amount of $452, even though they knew they had not fixed the issue. I had already called them and spoke to their manager. I told him I was not paying for their service, and for them not to ever come back. That was in January 2023. So, what do they do? They not only charged the unauthorized $452, but they kept charging my credit card every month for $12 all the way though to April, 2023, which is when I noticed the charges and called them. When confronted, the lady was arrogant and rude (in my opinion) and refused to reimburse anything. She just said we will not charge you $12 anymore, BUT we are going to charge you for early cancelation of your service agreement. WHAT? Are they crazy? I will leave that for you to decide. But they said they were going to charge another $135 for the early cancelation. Do yourself a favor, FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!! 1st Choice should be your last choice. read more

Wow! Randy came tonight to unclog our furnace drain. We called 1st Choice because Berkeys was trying to upsell for services we knew we didn't need. Randy told us our systems looked great, unclogged the drain, and was on his way in less than 30 minutes. Price to unclog the drain was significantly less than Berkeys had quoted us, with no upselling pressure for things we don't need. Randy was professional and very informative. Recently noticed my AC wasn't blowing cool air and was continuously running. Gave them a phone call at 7 AM and the lady that answered was so sweet and professional. They sent someone out later that afternoon and he walked me through everything. It was an educational experience! Step by step he explained how everything worked and what the issues were. COMPLETE SCAMMERS! If you want a company that honors their contracts and is easy to work with, don't use this company. We're going on 3 years since purchasing 2 units from these guys, and they still have not fully completed their job. They don't return phone calls unless they think they're going to make more money. The owner threatened my husband over the phone when confronted about the issue. They're not refusing to do the work on the agreement (anymore), but just can't seem to fit us on their schedule. I guess 3 years is just too fast to complete a job. Also notice how the only review they responded to was a positive one. What kind of a business operates this way??? FYI... AC has been serviced, and if it hasn't, no one should have issues after 3 years!!! Their own Manager came out and saw the installation and could not believe what a poor job they had done and that nothing was done as per our discussion with their Sales guy. Notice below how they always wants to argue instead of correcting the issue. Most professional businesses do the right thing when they screw up a job. Not this company. If you read the owners responses, you'll see exactly what I'm dealing with. They will never admit when they've made a mistake, and therefore, won't make it right. They will however, continue to post how a brand new unit that's had issues from day 1 is the customer's fault. This is an epic portrayal below of what you'll have to look forward to. Hey Ashley!! 1st choice came out to do an estimate for completing my air conditioning system in a new build house. When the estimate was received, it didn't match our system and didn't give a proper breakdown of the charges; which was over $4k. It mostly stated charges for warranties, which I was told over the phone they wouldn't be able to provide due to their not furishing the system and materials. I sent an email back to them requesting a proper estimate with a breakdown of the charges, and let them know the system and other details stated on the estimate were incorrect. My other request is if they could not provide this, I would need a refund of the $129.00 they charged me for the estimate. I have a crazy busy schedule, and was allowing ample time for the company to respond; they did not. I had to hire another company to come out and do another estimate; they gave a proper breakdown of what needed to be done and the costs, so I hired them.1st Choice is refusing to refund the charge and never provided a proper estimate apparently they think customers are just paying for their delightful company and conversation, not what they are actually hired to do. read more

These guys are sharp. They're available all weekend and always pick up. Our AC stopped working on a Sunday. I called and they were out within a few hours. I knew it needed to be replaced, but they gave me a few options and scheduled the install. They also provided a temporary AC unit to help. On the install day they were at my house by 7:30. They do good work but provide little transparency. They will not provide you a statement that shows cost of parts/labor. It took the technician 20 minutes to change out the board on my AC and I was billed over $1000 for them to change the board and over $200 for the them diagnose it. Upon retrieving the board box I found the part readily available online for between $215-$400. I understand they are in business but this felt like a gouge. I was told upfront the charge before I agreed to the work. I should have done more due diligence before I agreed to the service. Also, the service fee and the labor to diagnose the problem are not applied to the cost to fix so in total I paid over $1,200. read more

My AC went down and my house was 90+ degrees. 1st Choice came out the very same day. In fact within 3 hours of my call. My AC compressor had frozen up and expired. It was late in the evening and there was nothing that could be done. Rance was courteous and professional. The very next morning 1st Choice called me and provided several options to get my AC up and running. I was looking to upgrade and based on their recommendations they saved me hundreds of dollars by explaining my choices based on my home size and existing HVAC equipment. The very same day, Rance and his team showed up and installed a new Trane XL. When he arrived my house was 92 degrees. They worked hard and had my new AC running in less than 2 hours. My house is now down to 72 degrees and the new unit is amazing. But I want to stress that 1st Choice was amazing and in roughly 24 hours of eclipsed time they had the old unit removed, the new Trane unit running and even better, you would have never known they had been here. They cleaned up everything and left my back yard perfect. 5 Stars! I highly recommend 1st Choice! Professional and capable! read more

My son's AC went out early in the morning and he called 1st Choice since they advertised 24/7 service. They came out later that day and replaced a blown capacitor (a somewhat normal occurence during the hot summers) and charged $99 for the service call and $328 for a $20 capacitor. RIP OFF!!! My AC went out in our new home so our first option was to call Allied Home Warranty - the sellers of our home included the warranty in the sales price. When their technician came out (at twice the cost since it was "after hours"), he told us that we would need to replace our entire system, that our warranty would cover about $1000 and that we would need to foot the bill for the remaining $3100. Luckily, my coworker suggested 1st Choice Air Solutions! They were able to come out the next morning, immediately diagnosed the problem, and fixed the unit right then and there. It ended up costing us about $500 instead of $4000. 1st Choice was very thorough and I would suggest them to everyone I know in the DFW area. My downstairs A/C quit working and I called 1st Choice Air Solutions. I told the Tech that we had a leak in the coil in July, which was repaired. I advised him that I was aware that the R22 freon units were being phased out and replaced with a 410A, and that we wanted to replace the current one which was a 3.5 ton with a new 4 ton, 410A, because the 3.5 ton had never really cooled downstairs very well. The Tech told me that because I was going from an R22 to a 410A, we would have to replace the upstairs A/C as well as the downstairs, or the 410A would cause the upstairs R22 A/C to blow up, even though they are two completely separate systems. I told him that we had never had problems with the upstairs A/C, which is a 2.5 ton unit and that it cooled very well. He also told me that a hole would have be to cut in my upstairs ceiling to install a new air output because the current one is to far away. Additionally, he would have to replace the plenums with metal ones because the current ones are made out of cardboard, and they would mold and cause us to breath bad air. The plenums have been in the house since it was built and we have never had a problem with bad air. He quoted me prices for replacement of the downstairs A/C at between $10,528 to $16,819. He then quoted me a price of $18,268 to replace both the upstairs and downstairs A/C's, quoting me not for a 2.5 ton unit for upstairs, but a larger 3 ton, which was unnecessary and would cost more. During the visit he became rude and raised his voice at me. I felt he was not only trying to sell me things I did not need, but work that was unnecessary, and at outrageous prices. In the end, we had another company install a new 4 ton A/C at a cost of less than $6800, and our A/C has yet to explode. I will never use this company again. read more
