I called 4 companies and Nick and Randy were the only ones who arrived the same evening, not the next day. He was friendly, explained what is going on, told me what he is looking for and what I will need to do in the future based on the model that I had. He was able to bring my unit to life. The unit worked for a couple hours and stopped again. I texted Nick and he was back at my house within an hour. He gave me a quote that is half the quote of the first company and he organized for the new unit he put in today, instead of me waiting till Monday. This is an AC company I would recommend without any reservations. I am planning to get a bunch of their cards and give it to all my friends. It is such a refreshing and random phenomenon to be treated so well and with such care and respect. Thank you Nick and Randy for making this repair to be as painless as possible.

Secondary line now drains when it never did. Did not replace my filter dryer after opening my system. Last visit they told me it was outside coils being dirty. Why is that all of a sudden an issue 2 weeks later? Left a hole in the top of my air handler after that visit. Overall, they have caused me to miss/leave work multiple times to meet them in hopes they will fix it that time. I'm tired of being hot and frustrated. CoolTech Mechanical came to my home on Thursday, May 28, 2026, for routine HVAC maintenance on two…read moreunits. The technician was professional, knowledgeable, and did good work. My issue is not with the technician. My issue is with the office's billing after the work was already quoted, approved, and completed. During the visit, the technician advised that a capacitor was out of tolerance. He showed me the reading, quoted $155 for the replacement, and showed me CoolTech's pricing sheet on his phone before I approved the work. He then completed the repair and showed me the new capacitor reading. We had already agreed to $177.15 for the maintenance visit, so I expected the total to be $332.15 before any additional discount. Because we are a disabled veteran household, I asked whether they offered any additional discount. If the answer had been no, that would have been fine. Instead, the office later claimed that after a supposed 20% discount, the total was $389. That math does not make sense. When I questioned it, I was told the technician had quoted me wrong, even though he had quoted the price and shown me the pricing sheet before I authorized the work. This is a predatory billing practice: quote and show one price in the field, complete the work, then have the office bill a higher amount afterward while claiming the original quote was wrong. My broader concern is for elderly or vulnerable customers who may not feel able to challenge a bill. Customers should get a hard copy or take a photo of any quoted pricing before authorizing work. I was not allowed to speak with the owner who the office dispatch stated had died on May 4th. We paid the bill are choosing to not use CoolTech in the future.. The technician did good work, but the office billing experience was unacceptable.

We asked for a quote, and he said he would get the straight over. The office temperature is over 80F, and it's been two weeks and still no quote from this company, I have called over 4 times and just get told they are working on it. I explain to the lady the current temps in the office and that we needed the AC fixing asap. her response was they have been very busy. she refused to give me the contact number for the owner of the person handling the quote. very poor customer service. If they can't even get a quote over, can you imagine actually trying to get them to fix your AC.

They showed up on time, asked us a few questions about what we needed out of our service call, set up and started a 30 minute air quality tester and then got right to work on the AC system. David went up into the attic to work on the upstairs units while Daniel worked on the outdoor units. After a thorough check, David found everything in the attic was fine. Daniel found some loose connectors on the exterior units. They tightened up those connectors and both Daniel and David spent a little extra diagnostic time outside making sure that tightening those valves was the solution and that there were no further leaks. The review of the air quality test showed a lot of chemical content. We finally figured out that it was the new leather furniture (apparently leeching the chemicals that the leather was treated with at the factory). All is well, now. The exterior units (Compressors?) needed some freon. They are running very well now. Ya can't live in Texas without AC! We settled the bill via credit card at the end of the service call. The bill invoice and a future project estimate were immediately e-mailed to me for my review. I really like doing business with them! They will be e-mailing me more information about a maintenance agreement soon. I inquired about Texas Air Authorities' company history. David told me they are a 17 year old company in Alvarado, Texas (about 40 miles southwest of Grand Prairie) that is in the process of finding real estate in the Arlington area for them to expand their presence into the DFW market. They service Dallas, Fort Worth, Mansfield, Arlington, Duncanville, and of course Grand Prairie, among others in the area. I highly recommend Texas Air Authorities!
