From what I gather, this is "the place" to get your nails done in the Birmingham / Bloomfield area. Denis was my technician and he did a good job... I went with a simple neutral color and it hasn't chipped yet - after almost a week. Did the place blow me away? No... but was it exactly what I needed at a reasonable price? Absolutely. Went in here to get a full-set of acrylics and was delivered quick service. While I appreciated getting in and out so quickly without a reservation, I did not appreciate the quality of my nails. Some of my tips weren't glued on all the way, they didn't give me a manicure treatment before putting on the tips, and some of my tips were put on crooked. Now, a week after getting my nails done here, I have had two whole acrylics fall off. I've never had this happen to me before. I really wanted to like this place but to be honest, I probably could have done a better job on my own with a shellac kit and a light. The amount of polish on my skin is unacceptable for something I paid for... also some nails are VERY thick where as others are even. There's also a large spot that has zero polish on it on my thumb. I must be the exception, but the lady who did my pedicure did it all in maybe 5 minutes after soaking my feet in cold water for maybe 15-20 minutes waiting my turn- although I had an appointment. 38$ worth of nothing. All dead skin is still there. Even the color doesn't cover the lateral sides of the nail. Never going there again. I went there with my friend who had a better experience. The people were nice. I think Diva Nails lives up to its name. I've been there twice for a shellac mani & pedi and I've had great experiences with David. He's quick, attentive, & has good vision!! Based on this place's clientele, they look happy & like they are repeat customers. I don't like how they charged me $5 extra to remove my dip when it's the exact same removal as shellac. But whatever....it seems all these places have this sort of charge. It's a bit pricier-I paid $65 for shellac mani & regular pedi...BUT I found out today that they have a surcharge Friday-Sunday!! This place is terrible. Do not go. I got dazzle dry (which is supposed to last two weeks) and it started chipping two days after I got it. The color has also faded immensely. I've gotten dazzle dry other places and it has lasted at least two weeks. I've never experienced this type of chipping or color fade. read more

This is for the Maple and Lahser location (same owners, but there are 2 locations in the area). I had a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure went pretty well...until they cut my nail too short and I was bleeding a little. Luckily it didn't hurt. I liked the massage chairs and the soak. I wasn't too happy with my manicure. I showed them a picture of what I wanted: purple with glitter ombré. What I got was purple with kind of a blob of gold glitter that goes to the middle of my nail. It's kind of awkward and I don't know how long I'll keep it. My friend got shellac and it was bumpy and the nail technician told her that it was her nail's fault, not the paint. Worst place. The nail techs don't look clean, the woman that did my nails wore her apron all sideways like she was under the influence or something. I've been getting shellac manicures for 4 years now and I got the worst shellac manicure I've ever gotten from this place. She knew I was in a hurry to go up north but the quality was so awful. I got it done on Friday and it's already chipped on 3 nails because the coats were not painted evenly on my nails. Every shellac manicure ends with a lotion massage and she had the nerve to say "let's skip the massage I got you next time" there will be no next time. I have been going to the nail salon for a while, just because it's around the corner from where I live. Very convenient. However, I've never really been happy with their service. When I went back a couple of days ago - after going to a different nail salon for months - I very quickly remembered why I left in the first place. The technician started cutting my nails without even asking me what I wanted; I ended up with square nails - I hate square nails on me!! The massage was 30 second for each hand. Rudest owner ever!! Lilly(owner) has zero customer service skills and tried to charge my daughter twice in 48 hours for a shellac manicure. My daughter went in on Saturday for shellac and realized she could see her last color below it. Went back in today, Monday, and asked for another coat-the manicurist( Lilly's sister) said I am so sorry, lets take off the polish and we will do it over...no charge." Right after taking off the polish, Lilly (owner and mean lady) walks over, looks at my daughters nails and blames the last salon was to blame and said that she will be charged for a full shellac manicure. When my daughter questioned her, she started screaming at my daughter and everyone (both customers and employees)were looking at her-she was so embarrassed! Then she starts speaking in her language amongst the manicurists (that my daughter did not understand) and then they were all staring at my daughter. My daughter called me and I said "no way you are paying another $35 to them!!" I drove up there and when I walked in, she screamed at my daughter and said DO NOT PAY, just never come here again. Again-all customers staring at her... She should not be in business and should take an Anger Management Course..and would potentially fail. **Review for Maple & Lahser Location (not on Yelp for some reason)** I was visiting from out of town and I went for nails with my cousins, who are locals and visit Diva Nail often. Unfortunately, we had a really disappointing experience. We made a reservation for 5 people (4 manis and 1 pedi). We walked in, were greeted, and told to pick a color. They looked busy and definitely not like they had 5 techs available to help us. My sister, who was getting a pedicure, got started right away, as did two of the manicures. However, myself and a cousin (2/5 of our party) were completely ignored. No one even said, "we're very sorry, we will be with you shortly." We were invisible. It was really frustrating that I was about to spend money on a service where people could not even be bothered to speak to me or look at me. One of my cousins, who got into the first round of manicures, reported that her mani lasted about 10 minutes. Not acceptable. My manicure was performed by 2-3 different people rushing around trying to fit me in between other people's services. Also my mani chipped that night. I do not recommend Diva Nails if you are looking for attentive and quality service. read more

DO NOT GO HERE- LITERALLY ANY OTHER PLACE WOULD PROBABLY BE BETTER I would like to clarify before beginning my review that I made this account just so I could explain how horrendous of a place this is This happened a while back but a friend of mine recently went there and had an experience very similarly terrible as mine. I remember calling ahead and asking if I needed to make an appointment to come in for a gel mani pedi and the lady told me it was not necessary I got to the place and genuinely thought it may have been closed down.... The lights were turned off in half of the store. I thought maybe there was a lighting problem but they weren't even trying to put in other lights and I don't believe this was the issue as half of the store(where the pedi chairs are) was light perfectly fine. This went along with an insanely potent smell of nail products( acrylic, nail polish remover I'm assuming from the smell). Although this may be something you'd think they can't avoid, I truly believe there was something else as I've gone to numerous other nail salons and have never before felt so slapped in the face by the smell of products to the point where I felt dizzy When I did walk in, there was only two other women having their nails done along with 4 workers in the front of the store..... NOT ONE of these people said ANYTHING to me for a good 5 minutes when I walked in. I was truly concerned I was the one in the wrong as to how they completely disregarded my existence in the store. I had to walk up to one of the ladies working on another ladies nails for her to finally ask me what I needed. When her I told her I called for the gel mani pedi they sat me down in the chair I have never before had an experience with gel mani pedis that I could say was anywhere near painful.... But this one changed that. The water was scalding hot and no matter how many times I told the lady this she wouldn't turn it down to a comfortable temperature(my feet were bright red every time she took them out). The ladies cutting/ cleaning the cuticles of my hands and feet were soo insanely harsh that I had to tell them more than once that I was in pain. One of the cuticles of my fingers was bleeding and the lady used a tissue to wipe it without even apologizing or acknowledging what she did. The next day the skin around my nails was tight and sore feeling along with very red and dry. The girl filing my nails made them much shorter than I had asked, made one hand longer than the other, and made one of my nails completely crooked and gave me MAJOR attitude when I pointed it out and asked her to fix it(which she did not) I have gotten gel nails done for the past 3 years around 1 a month. I have never in my life seen a worse gel manicure.... And I very often did mine at home. I could have done my nails a million times better for free... And I have had NO training at all. They girl put the layers of gel SO thick on my nails that it was painful under the light and that it was all drooping to one side of my nail. The girl also gave me crazy attitude when I told her this and asked if she could fix it. She filed it off a bit but then again put another insanely thick layer that did the same awful effect. The result was my nails looking like that disgusting bubble nails trend..... Not to mention they started chipping the day after..... Do I even need to point out that it was GEL POLISH. The ladies then quickly tried ushering me to pay and leave. Through this whole process they only spoke in their native language(not sure what it was tbh), and made it every apparent they were talking shit about me and laughing when I was unhappy with things they were doing and asked them to fix it All in all, by far one of the worst places I have ever gone to get my nails done DO NOT GO HERE read more

Fyi i created this account just to post this review. I am not picky or hard to please. Worst experience ever....went for shellac manicure. The manicurist was very unprofessional. My nails were filed unevenly. She did not clean the tip of my nails after filing until I pointed it out. She was going to start polishing before cleaning underneath my nails where there was visible dirt. Both of my thumb nails did not dry appropriately and when I pointed it out she tried to cover it up with several layers of polish which just looked HORRIBLE. She was super annoyed when I asked her to fix it and started talking about me to her coworkers in a different language. I will NEVER return or recommend them to anyone. read more

I've never had good nails. I've bitten them forever (gross) and as a tennis player, fixing my strings tears them up. Quality Excellent. I got a mani/pedi through work at Diva and two weeks after, my nails were considerably stronger and finally grew to more than a socially acceptable length. My first manicure from Diva lasted a week until I started picking at it. I'm positive it could have lasted longer if I didn't get really frustrated during a meeting. I went back a few days ago to get another. My first pedicure somehow still looks great (one chip that was my fault) two and a half weeks later. Price I'm not really sure about what a manicure is supposed to cost, but when I went back for my second mani, Diva charges $16 and I left a $5 tip. Extra info They have a really great drying station with fans and UV lights to harden polish. On the machine, it says that one cycle will be sufficient, but since we were waiting for others in our group, I went through about 2.5 cycles. Appointments Both times were call aheads. The first visit was a group of about 8 of us and they took us all in a timely manner around 4pm on a Friday. This holiday weekend (Labor day), we got out of work early so I went at 3:30 on Friday. They were very busy and I commented that it must be because of the long weekend and the manicurist said it's always like this. The clientele can be pretty uppity and obnoxious, but you can just ignore them. Moral of the story: Great mani/pedi, but call ahead to make sure you won't be waiting. read more

Diva, diva, diva.... how I wish I could come and relax in your massage chairs and feel your warm towels against my tired legs but your prices are just too high. Yes, you might be only five dollars over my regular salon but it's just not worth it.... All in all, this place is clean with a nice relaxing atmosphere and most of the manicurist do a good job. I have been to both Diva locations in Bloomfield for a pedicure. They are clean and the girls are nice, however, for $35 you can get a MUCH better pedicure elsewhere. Their newer location on Maple and Lahser is a little nicer because the massage chairs, and everything else, are new. They don't do much of a massage, which I think is an important part of a pedicure, and they also don't do a great job with the exfoliation, another very important part of a pedicure. My polish started to chip, both times, after only 2 weeks. Bottom line, you can definitely find a place that offers more for your money! BUT I will still use them when I"m in a pinch and just need to run in somewhere quick. Like I said, they are clean and your feet look nice when you leave so, while they don't offer the full experience (to my liking anyway), there are certainly worse places you could go. read more

manicure/fill-in: 10/10!! Kristi did an exceptional job on perfecting every nail to the T, it took time but it was worth the while. I love my nails and will be back to see Kristi again for my full-in's Pedicure- mediocre, I left with calluses still on my feet and rough patches under my toes. They scrubbed my feet with a hard sponge (I could do that in the shower) I was hoping to have some of it scraped off with a razor and tried to indirectly encourage her to do so but it did not work. I'm upset with the lack of encouragement to get the job done properly. Overall, I was happy when I left but I will not be back for pedicures. read more

Beautifully decorated but overpriced. This was my first time at this nail place and I wanted to like it but overall I'm not satisfied. I got a simple polish change ony toes. When I asked how much this costs they told me $12. I agreed to this though my go to salon only charges $10. I selected a color (they do have a great selection) and did a glitter top coat. When finished, I sat under th dryer. The guy came over and told me it would be $15. When I inquired about the price increase, he said it was a fee for cutting the nails down. That is ridiculous and I don't know why they didn't say this beforehand. Additionally, my toes don't feel as if they had a top coat put on them. Overall, Not worth the money. read more

NOTE: This review is for the Lahser & Maple location (same plaza as Stroh's Ice Cream) - which, strangely enough, does not show up on Yelp and is difficult to find elsewhere online. Overall, I had a good experience here - got a shellac mani and [what I assume to be] a standard pedicure. I say "assume" because I never saw any services menu (nor was I offered any). I couldn't find any information about services or prices online anywhere, so I wasn't really sure what to expect - I was going solely off of what other Yelpers had mentioned. When I came in (about 5PM on a Friday), they were super busy, so I wasn't expecting to get called so quickly. Thinking I had plenty of time, I started to look at their very extensive collection to choose a color (OPI on one side; Essie on the other - they may have had other brands as well, but I'm not sure). I'd only had shellac a couple of times before, but they definitely had quite a large selection of shellac colors as well. Before I had even finished picking out my colors, they called my name. The lady who was going to work on my nails came over to greet me - and I could've sworn she said she was going to get me a water while I continued looking, but perhaps I misunderstood her (I didn't get any water, heh). After she helped me find a color I was looking for, she started on my pedicure. They have some nice, cushy massage chairs. I then realized that I was never asked what kind of pedicure I wanted - I anticipated there being a selection to choose from, and was originally looking to splurge on a more frou-frou type - but once I realized I was in for a regular pedicure, I decided to just let it go and see how it went. After the pedicure, I moved over to get the shellac manicure. Very happy with the results of both, but I do wish I would've gotten a bit more of a massage on both. At any rate, I am happy with my overall experience and would come back again - although they seemed a little bit rushed due to how busy they were, both the lady who worked on my nails and the guy who seemed to be in charge were nice and friendly. Between August and December of 2019, I had four pedicures done by Julie at Diva Nails on Maple Road near Telegraph. I later discovered that I had fungal infections in at least four of my toes, all attributable to these pedicures, due most likely, I believe, to improperly sanitized instruments. The podiatrist who diagnosed my condition and is treating me told me one course of medical treatment covered by insurance entailed a significant risk of liver damage and that a safer laser treatment would cost $795 due to not being covered by insurance. Fortunately, I am able to pay for the laser treatment, but this does make the pedicures very expensive. I hope that posting this review will help other women avoid similar problems. read more

The lady at the front desk was so rude to me, and I was all but rushed out the door at the end with my nails still completely wet!
