I was in for a mani pedi with a clear coat. After my travels I needed a little self care. Donna was the one who helped me with services. She was friendly, kind, and great conversationalist. You use your phone number to check in on a tablet and have the option to select a preferred employee or just select "next available". Very convenient! Staff is always so so friendly! They even remembered us from 6 months ago (but maybe that means we're too memorable... oops). The staff is ready and willing to chat but at the same time allowed us to have our own personal conversations amongst ourselves. The pedicures were PERFECTION. The warm water was soothing, the leg massage and scrub was just what I needed! Everything was clean, and thoroughly professional. Recently moved to Michigan from Texas, and have been holding off finding a nail salon because the choices in the area are so overwhelming! So many places to choose from but not sure which one is the best? Look no further than NK Nails & Spa! I called after hours on a Friday and wanted to set up an appointment for the following day (Saturday) for a pedicure. A friendly woman picked up and was super courteous despite the after-hours call. She took my info and I was set in less than 10 minutes! I arrived a couple minutes early for my appointment. I was greeted and told to pick out a color. After 3-5 minutes of waiting, my manicurist came out promptly and on time. She set me up on a chair and started to soak my feet. I was given a menu of pedicure options and chose my soak salt and foot mask scent. Their options are extensive and I opted for a fruity smelling one. It did not disappoint! Very refreshing scent - perfect for spring! My manicurist, Tiffany, was sweet and talked to me a bit. She could tell I wanted to relax and watch my show on my phone, so she remained silent after we made small talk. I appreciated that - she was attentive without being overbearing. Our silence was comfortable and she didn't make it awkward. She cleaned my cuticles well and the foot scrub left my feet super soft! My only complaint is that the massage was a bit on the weak side, but I'll just request more pressure the next time around. My toes turned out perfect and I left very relaxed and satisfied. I'm new in the area and looking for my new "home" for my nails lol and I initially called to see if I could just walk in, and while they allow it they prefer to call ahead to better accommodate and they did that! I called, they said they didn't have openings so that was that. But, a bit later they actually called me back saying there was a cancellation and took me! Initially I only had time for one service but while I was there, they found they had more time and squeezed me in for more! All while ensuring the quality of their work was excellent! This nail salon is AWESOME. It was recently renovated and is now under new management. The salon is very modern and chic. Everything they use is new, clean, and / or sterilized in an autoclave. The pedicure chairs are lined with new liners after every client and disposed of when done. They have a wide variety of both regular and gel polishes. Everyone is trained in gel manicures and pedicures. If you want to get acrylics, I highly suggest booking an appointment with Linda before hand, otherwise you'll be out of luck. It's in a small plaza off Franklin and Telegraph, if you blink you'll miss it. Make sure you have cash for tipping, their credit card machine doesn't accept tips. read more

I am so pleased with the manicure (shellac) Calvin gave me at Nailtopia II. In the past year, I've had some pretty poor quality manicures that have made me leery of even getting another. But I thought I'd try just one more, and I'm so happy with the results! Here's why the manicure is so great: 1) Calvin made sure to remove all of my cuticle, something manicurists haven't done in the past, which has resulted in the polish peeling up from the bottom. 2) He made sure the surface of the polish was perfect, no bubbles as often happens, and evenly applied. 3) He did a great job shaping my nails. 4) I often get anxiety when getting my nails done because of how rough the manicurist is, often making me bleed, but Calvin did none of these things. 5) I waited a couple of days to post this review just to make sure nothing came up (my last manicure turned from purple to green within a day), and my nails still look as flawless as they first did. All in all, it was a great experience, and I feel like my money was well spent on this manicure. It's in the top two - if not first - of the manicures I've gotten. I've already recommended this salon to my friends, and I definitely plan on going back myself! read more

This is by far the best nail place I've gone to! My nails are always the perfect shape and my acrylic nails last for over 3 weeks with gel polish and zero chipping. They are easy to get into for an appointment last minute during the week and are very clean. It's a very nice, laid back atmosphere and they don't try to pressure you into getting tons of stuff done like other salons do. The pedi was good. She did shellac mani and the polish she used looked thick when she applied. When I got to car I saw how clumpy and streaky it was.
