I visited this coffee stand twice earlier this week and ordered a "Skittles" drink in a 16 oz size…read morewithout any issues. I returned this morning to order the exact same drink, only to be told that I was not allowed to order it in that size. Naturally, I asked why I had been allowed to purchase the same drink in that size just two days prior. That is when the interaction took a turn. The employee's tone became passive-aggressive and condescending, despite me simply asking for clarification about an apparent inconsistency in their ordering policy. I then asked if I could finish placing my order with the original barista who had been taking it. The employee responded, "Well, no, because I am training her." She proceeded to refuse me service entirely. To make matters worse, she turned to the customer at the other window and asked whether she was being condescending before slamming the window in my face. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that I was the ONLY car in line. There was no line of customers waiting behind me, and I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply wanted clarification about why I could order the same drink in the same size two days earlier but supposedly could not do so today. My biggest concern is that this employee was training another barista while demonstrating this kind of customer service. If this is how someone in a training position handles a simple question from a customer, I genuinely question what kind of customer service standards are being taught to new employees. If there is a policy restricting certain drinks to specific sizes, that is perfectly fine. Communicating that policy respectfully is part of the job. Refusing an entire order, involving another customer in the interaction, and slamming a service window in someone's face are entirely different matters. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and addresses both the employee's conduct and the customer service expectations being set for trainees. Unfortunately, this experience has left me with a very poor impression of this establishment.
