My friend and I got to dine outside during the fall weather (finally). They had effective heaters outside and the ambiance was generally nice, since it was on the sidewalk flanked with plexiglass dividers, trees with string lights. My friend ordered their reyash (the rack of lamb) and I ordered the tabsi (braised lamb shank). I had 2 drinks (DD Old-fashioned and the tamarhindi). Service was pretty nice at least for me, but the waiter kept ignoring my friend for some strange reason and he is the sponsor of the dinner (since we flip flop on dinner tabs). Anyway, my friend ordered (eye-rolls from me) his lamb rack well done. Luckily, they didn't do so because they know how to cook meats decently. If it were to be truly well done, then it will be chewy and dry. LOL... My lamb shank was super tender and flavorful. I had freekah with it and it paired well with my tomato-based sauce and the lamb. My drinks were surprisingly good. They definitely were tasty and decently mixed to a good strength (thank gawd - I hate watered down drinks). They were $12/each so that is very reasonable for good cocktails! I will return again to try their other dishes. Yes, this is the boujee and much more elegant sibling of the dish n dash restaurants. I have been to DishDash a few times visiting San Jose for work. Their dishes are always delicious. Usually we would order family style as we would go there as a team. This time I went there after a cycle bar workout. I was able to work out a hack to the menu. You can order a salad with chicken shawarma and its delicious and still more food than one person should eat for dinner (see my photo!) They also give Zataar and bread for free. We randomly selected Dish Dash for dinner one night and came home in awe of one of the best dinners of both our lives. My husband still can't get over the lamb chops he ate here and the flavors of every single dish we ordered. Their humnus was classic with the expected tang and was light and creamy. The sambusak dajaj was flaky and the chicken filling in it was plenty even though it made for a small appetizer. For the main course we had the shish touk which is the chicken skewer served with the most delicious long grain rice and accompaniments. The green chutney served with the dish was very similar to the Indian green chutney and the flavors were on point. The chicken was a little on the drier side than I would have liked but this did not spoil the flavor of the dish in any way. The chicken skewer was served with some smashed potatoes and they were very delicious. The roasted almonds atop my chicken dish were crunchy and gave an impeccable flavor in every bite! My husband's dish, reyash was superb! He loves lamb chops and they were huge! They were delicious and medium as he had requested. They serve warm pita and a dip to each table which is complimentary and also very unique and delicious. It makes for a great snack until your food arrives and after during the meal. We tried their mango drink (non alcoholic) and I really liked it. It complimented my meal well. The service was great and we were given a good table for 4 upon request instead of their cramped table for two. All in all I would go back and try many of the dishes and salads they have to offer. We have been to DishDash many times and previously I have always thought of it as a 5 star place. The service is always good and the dishes are well-presented. However yesterday we ventured away from our typical dishes, Maza Sampler and Reyash. The Rihan appetizer was good but next time maybe we should try the Babaghanouge. My wife enjoyed her Tiki Kebab with Brussels Sprouts but I was pretty disappointed with my Tabsi Falafel. It tasted more like a typical American stew except with Falafels. At least the Falafels were excellent. The other two vegetarian entree choices did not look too appealing which is why I think in the past I always ended up just getting the Maza Sampler. read more

The food here is amazing. I highly recommend the kebab combo - I got beef (next time I'll try the lamb). All the meats on it were good. Love the toasted nuts on the yellow rice. I also got the fattoush salad and it was heavy on the red onion (might have it with onions on the side next time) but overall super fresh and herby. DishDash is probably my favorite Mediterranean place. A few years back, I tried DishDash and did not like it. I think it was because I ordered falafels, but I realized, I just do not like falafels. Anyway, I recently decided to try this place again... and not ordering falafels this time around. Instead, I tried their chicken kebab and lamb kebab, and I ended up loving it, especially their lamb kebab, my absolute favorite! The sauces here are pretty good as well! During the pandemic, they closed down Murphey Avenue to allow outdoor dining so I have been coming here a few times in the last couple of months. It has been a nice experience every time. They do take extra measures to ensure a safe dining experience, in my opinion. Now that we cannot dine outdoors, we also started doing take out with DishDash and it still tastes amazing! Whether you dine in or use take out, service is excellent as always! The staff is friendly and attentive. Great atmosphere, lighting, service, and food! We ordered the Muhammara, which was exceptional. Everyone at the table couldn't get enough of it. We also ordered the shawarma hummus with lamb and it was decent, nothing to write home about. For the entree I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it was very good, very rich. In my opinion it was a little too rich, but it was delicious. To drink I ordered a sangria and it was so good, I ordered another. I could've drank a million sangrias they were so delicious. For dessert we ordered the chocolate lava cake and it was nothing but rich, chocolatey, goodness. So good, I could've eaten another. Great Mediterranean food! I went to this restaurant on a nice late afternoon meal with my family. My family and I ordered a couple appetizers, entrees, and a dessert: Maza sampler for 4 ($29), Beriani Dajaj ($22.50), Combo Kebab ($32), Sambusak Dajaj ($10), Kufta Kebab ($23.50), and the baklava dessert (unsure price). The dine-in also came with unlimited amounts of pita bread and the "sauce" that comes with it, which I was guessing was or oregano, olive oil, and other spices. I will be honest, I was quite high during this time, so everything tasted incredible and good. I literally ate a bit of everything and finished my own entree along with like at least 3 servings of the pita bread and the sauce. Everything was good, and the baklava dessert was the best finish to the meal. The service was great! The waiter was super friendly and helpful with any of our questions or requests. Parking for the restaurant is pretty easy; the restaurant is located in what used to be a main street but is now blocked off. There's a mall nearby so there's a lot of parking available. Great spot to eat outside on a nice day. I came here for dinner with my family and we loved the atmosphere and setting with the outdoor seating available. It was such a nice day and the tables are pretty spaced out. I love how there's unlimited bread and their house dipping sauce which is delicious! I'll admit that it is quite pricey eating here but it is well worth it for an occasion. We ordered the Maza sampler, Beriani Dajaj, Combo Kebab, Sambusak Dajaj, Sambusak Dajaj, Kufta Kebab, and the baklava dessert. Price aside, I really enjoyed my meal a lot! All of the dishes we ordered was very yummy. I think the Maza sampler is great to share and we shared it between 5 people. My favorite dish out of all the ones we ordered was the Beriani Dajaj. The cream went great with the chickpeas and rice. The chicken wasn't over cooked at all. I couldn't stop eating the rice because it was very good. My sisters agreed that the rice tasted delicious! The Sambusak Dajaj was a great appetizer too that was very good as well! I wish it could be an entree because if wanted more. This is the sit down DishDash, sister resto to the Fremont location and was once the business model of the Milpitas location. Food as always was exceptional! Very large portions makes the price a steal and your dinner a second meal the next day. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Logistically, parking is a bit rough because they are located in an area with plenty of entertainment. So plan accordingly. I hadn't been to this location so we mapped ourselves to another location of theirs. Arriving late we called and they were able to hold our table a bit longer. The line (on a rainy Saturday) was out the door so we were relieved they accommodated our bad sense of direction. Parking can be tough. read more

Came here for a dinner date with my boyfriend on a Saturday evening and made a reservation on their website ahead of time for outdoor seating. The food was so yummy!!! Meat is good quality, marinated well, and tender. I decided to try the freekeh, and the best way I can describe it is that it's kinda like barley and lentils? A unique grain, seasoned and served with almonds. Portions are generous and I was able to get a second meal out of the leftovers, which they boxed for us! Next time though, I'll probably order the spiced potatoes that I got to try off my bf's plate. There's some parking behind the construction and also around the Downtown Sunnyvale area, and the street is bustling and lively on weekends. Service was very attentive and fast! If you haven't had Dish Dash/Dish N Dash before, you're going to have to try it! But because of that the wonderful restaurants able to open their doors and feed the [socially] starving will already be graciously accepted but DishDash does it better than most. Outdoor Dining - 4 stars DishDash did a good job of trying to make people feel like they have some semblance of restaurant dining and not just eating on the street. They have your typical wooden tables set up in front of their store space but they also have large portable walls erected so that some dining spaces can feel like you're sitting in a booth. It's a nice touch. Along with large umbrellas above it helps shade from both sunshine and too much streetlight. The only way this would have a higher rating would be some kind of non-obnoxious dinner entertainment to compliment the ambience. Covid Safety - 5 stars This place really goes above and beyond to give you a feeling of safety when you dine here. Unlike most restaurants now the restaurant still gives you physical menus but they are sanitized after every use. All the meals are served with a team of servers so the food comes efficiently and cleanly. Finally, when you finish your meal they present to you a bill that can be paid on the spot at the table if you're paying with credit card. It limits the hands touching everything and the dinner felt incredibly safe. Food - 5 stars Look, if I had the money and time I would've ended up eating multiple dishes. Everything looked so good on the menu and even better once it came out. Firstly, can we talk about the complimentary pita triangles they give the table when you order? They are sooooooooooooo good. Fluffy, flavorful, and fresh. The 3 F's of satisfaction. Even though it was served with tapenade I ended up devouring it as is. Secondly, everyone will tell you to order the Mansaf. This is a rice dish surrounded by slow cooked lamb in yogurt sauce. I personally don't like lamb because it's usually too gamey for me but when I tried a bite it was a whole new level of flavor. I never had lamb taste so mild yet be so mouth watering delicious. My mouth can still remember the sweet and savory flavors from this dish and if I didn't enjoy my order so much I might have fallen into ordering this dish. Instead, I got myself Tika kebab. Imagine a skewer filled with the tenderest cuts of steak, cooked perfectly, over a bed of rice and served with garlic sauce. That would be the perfection in your mouth and it was. I had flashbacks of a steakhouse and white linen tables. The smell of air conditioned atmosphere and multiple cuts of meat filled my nostrils. My mouth yearned for more with each bite. Basically it was heavenly and I would go full hog again if I had the chance. It was an amazing meal and something I still smile about. Conclusion You might feel scared of dining out during these times of Covid and uncertainty. Is eating outdoors a risk worth taking when there is still so many people sick and a pandemic not slowing down? I can say if there is a place where the answer is "yes" to these questions it would have to be DishDash. Safety measures in place, exceptional food on the table, and you with good company in hand. Anyways, I used both to dip my meet and it has this slight of tangy taste that compliments the meat. I really need to go back here and try a different dish. Also, I don't know if he was the owner or not, but at the end of our late lunch, the server gave us a Baklava Crumble. On the menu it said choice of rice or veggies. I picked rice. I didn't realize it comes with broccoli anyway. I was rather disappointed as I don't like broccoli & wish they had mentioned it. That said, these were some of the best broccolis I've ever had. They had great flavor and I ate most of them. Thankfully my husband got side of salad instead so he took some of my broccoli and I got some of his salad. - Baklava Crumble - great recommendation by our waiter. Loved the dish. Got our baklava craving while also had some good ice cream. Very creative dessert. Had some of the beef kabob left over. one of the few dishdash in the areas that have sit down, dine-in! it's located on murphy ave along a strip of a bunch of restaurants and bars, but this is still my favorite spot on murphy! the service is so friendly and attentive. they have both indoor and heated outdoor seating. it can get pretty crowded, so try to get a reservation beforehand. the food is phenomenal! they start you off with naan. i've tried a handful of dishes from them and have enjoyed all of them (see pics). the steak is tender and flavorful, although they overcooked it despite us ordering medium rare. the sauces that came with the steak kebob were great complementary flavors to the steak/veggies. be sure to ask for the hot sauce - it elevates the dish so much!!! read more

At the end of our dinner as I was about the pay the bill, the woman asked if I got a certain dessert that she recommended a few mins earlier. Turns out I didn't as I wanted to have the baklava crumble with vanilla gelato (awesome btw) but while talking, I mentioned to her that it was my birthday. While I was then looking over the bill, she got up and walked away. My hostess/waitress then came back and playfully scolded me saying I didn't tell her it was my bday and that the woman I was talking to told her. Turns out, the woman was the OWNER!!! She came back laughing and I felt so embarrassed as they took my bill away and comped the dessert...cuz I was expecting anything. I thanked her non-stop as it was totally unexpected and not what I was insisting for...we had a good laugh for a few mins but just wanted to say how appreciative I am to the owner...as well as the hostess/waitress that was great throughout the dinner! DishDash is definitely one of my favs in the bay area but is bumped up a notch for their great service, especially on this visit! Thank you again for a great bday dinner! I have been going to this place for years and they are always super busy. On my past visit, I went on a Monday night around 7:30pm and there was a 30 minute wait. You can sign up at the front and they will text/call you when you're table is ready. The food here is always amazing. I consistently get the tika-kabob medium rare with rice and have recommended this to multiple people. Everyone I know who has tried the food has fallen in love with the place and has returned for more. I'm not sure what sauce the tika-kabob vegetables come with, but they make any of their vegetables (brussel sprouts, broccoli, etc) delectable. I think the vegetables vary with what's in season at the time. It's one of the rare times I choose vegetables over fries. I also noticed that you can order spiced-potatoes instead of rice or freekah and I'm not sure if that's new? I would be excited to try it next time as anything from this place is delicious. Lastly, the service is great and super efficient. They know that they are one of the busiest restaurants in the downtown area and make it a point to efficiently serve customers without making them feel rushed.
