Tika Kebab

Food was amazing! Had great flavor and steak was juicy! Service was also great, I think our water cups ever got low. Water did not taste great tho. Searing inside and outside. We asked to be seated outside on a Thursday and they said they were all reserved already when no one was outside so thought that was weird. Our group attempted to socialize and chat after dinner but we were told we must leave since they have reservations.

Came here recently for dinner. The entree was a bit lacking in balance, perhaps I ordered the wrong item without vegetables. Overall, the appetizers and drinks were good. But the main dish was underwhelming.

Makloubeh

I've enjoyed DishDash's casual sister eatery, Dish N Dash, many times, but finally got around to trying this spot last month! My boyfriend and I dined in on a weeknight and made a reservation. It wasn't completely full but there was still a decent sized crowd for dinner. To start we shared the chicken shawarma hummus, which was excellent and super flavorful. The free bread they give you to start was also really tasty! The entree portions were way larger than I expected and we probably could have shared one plate, but at least we got to take home leftovers! I ordered the tabsi falafel and my boyfriend got the makloubeh with chicken. Both dishes were incredibly flavorful and had a variety of textures, which was great for someone like me who loves variety in a meal. I think I liked the flavor of the makloubeh just a bit more than the tabsi but both of them were great and I would eat both again. I'd also be interested in returning for some of the other dishes we didn't get to try this time. Service was friendly. We parked in a nearby lot and it was pretty busy in the evening (several cars circling for open spots).

Lots of seating indoor and outdoor. Located at downtown Sunnyvale. Very convenient. We sat at outside. The tree over us kept dropping stuff down but it wasn't too bad. I got combo kebab. All meats were tasty. Kyhar as cocktail was yum but just a little too little. Whole experience was enjoyable. Portion was huge. I shared with mom and there was plenty left.

Tasty place on Murphy Ave with outdoor seating! Place has very large portions too. Tried the kofta kebabs which were delicious. Would come back here again to try more!

Came here for lunch and service was good until big parties were seated next to us and we were forgotten about. Also you can't make any customizations to side orders, even for an up charge. Food was good, as usual. Plenty of seating inside and outside.

I remember coming here over 10 years ago and enjoying it so we decided to give it another shot since we were in the area. It did not disappoint! The portions were generous, the meat was absolutely cooked to perfection, and the food came out extremely quickly which was great since we were starving. Even though the restaurant was a full house, the service team was attentive. We definitely be back!

Beriani Dajaj

Wow. I was told to come here for the lamb and it did not disappoint. It was tender and fell apart so easily. Make sure to try the freekeh with the dishes over basmati rice, it's unique. We really liked the small chicken pieces in the Beriani, it came together so savory with the sauce and flaked nuts. The presentation for all the dishes was lovely, the portion sizes were plentiful. My favorite was easily the Sambusak, the goat cheese and feta with honey was an incredible combination. I can't wait to come back to try more from the menu. The wait was pretty fast, and the restaurant is spacious and easy to hold a conversation in.

Very very solid spot. Price has definitely increased over the years, but still worth visiting. Extremely friendly staff, spacious interior, and solid food. FOOD: Babaghanouge (8/10) - My favorite cold appetizer here. Amazing flavor that goes perfectly with the bread Reyash (7/10) - Tender lamb rack but slightly salty. The sides do go well with it though. Would try again! Tikka Kebab (7/10) - Same as above, tender and cooked well but slightly salty again.

Mansaf

I had a great time at lunch at DishDash. My dining companion and I got similar dishes with cubed lamb -- one of them was Mansaf and the other was Zahra. The Mansaf is the bright yellow dish, and Zahra is light brown in the pictures below. Both were quite good. The Mansaf had turmeric and cardamom flavors and the lamb was very tender and juicy. The sauce soaked into the rice which had a great texture and flavor to it. We sat outside, which was very pleasant with some shade and just foot traffic on Murphy. The service was sometimes hard to find. I feel like they were very busy handling a lot of tables. Overall a nice experience as usual.

Visited for weekday dinner with a friend, absolutely delicious eats! * Location: Murphy Ave - plenty of parking lots nearby & within short walking distance of Caltrain. * Seating: Great indoor seating & outdoor seating options (plus heated lamps for chillier evenings). * Service & Staff: Fantastic service from attentive staff from check-in all the way through post-meal. * Food: Everything was genuinely outstanding. Meal started with fluffy pita bread and tasty za'atar before the Muhammara (the molasses take it to a whole other level!!). Friend tried the Shish Taouk while I ordered the Bustan Salat. Tastes were fantastic for every dish, generous portions. Great dinner experience, would definitely recommend to others, & we'll be back!

Za'taar
Yasmeen E.

My husband and I are on the hunt for good Arab restaurants in the Bay Area since moving from Orange County. As a Palestinian American, I was excited to come across DishDash after an event nearby and decided to check it out. When we first walked in, I loved seeing the beautiful wall that highlights Palestinian culture. But once you step into the main dining space, the vibe shifts. It clearly caters more to a non-Arab audience. Not bad, just not what I was expecting based on the first impression. We ordered the combo kebab, the mezza for two, and the Za'taar with olive oil and bread. The bread was really good, and I had to pace myself to not get full off it. The Za'taar had a nice tang to it that I really liked. Both of us enjoyed the combo kebab, especially with the freekeh. The mezza was good, but the labneh was a little watery and the tabbouleh portion felt a bit small. Everything still tasted fresh. It's definitely on the pricier side, and you can tell it's aiming for more of a fine dining experience. The service was solid and we had no complaints. I just wish the cultural feel continued more consistently throughout the space because it would be nice to find a place that feels connecting to our culture!

Loved all the food we got here!! First tip: do NOT fill up on the pita and zaatar dip they bring to the table (and they will keep bringing more). Order some appetizers -- the muhammara and toum are fantastic -- and make sure you use your bread allotment there. But also, you might like the pita to soak up some of the tasty sauces the main entrees come with. Everything is so delicious. The grilled meats have that wonderful grilled flaovr. The sea bass and lamb shank were incredibly tender. I loved absolutely everything we got. For five adults, we got three dips (one was hummus with lamb shawarma so that's a little heavier of an appetizer I guess) and three big entree plates, and that was about perfect. We got one of each of the carb options: seasoned potatoes (very tender and flavorful, creamy gold potatoes), rice, and freekeh (good bite/chew to it compared to the rice). Enjoyed all of it. The servers are also super nice and kept checking on us, making sure our pita basket was filled and even brought us a spicy sauce (very good!). Definitely come here with others and eat it family style because the portions are big, and it would be a shame not to try a variety of their dishes.

Date night staple. Delicious and plentiful take-out. The star might be the aged yogurt dishes.

Ask the Community - DishDash

Dairy allergy here. If I don't eat the yogurt, are any of the meats dairy free?

Catering which is better DishNDash or DishDash?

DishDash is better than DishNDash.

Do they still have the chicken shwarma salad?

Yes. Ask for any salad and add chicken shawarma.

What ingredients are in the amazing kabob green sauce?

They call it Walnut Herb sauce (see my review). In case you don’t get reply I just thought I’d leave the general name and maybe you can YouTube or Google it. You should ask them if they sell it :)

Is Dish Dash doing outdoor seating now?

Yes. They have tables along the sidewalk which are separated by plexiglass screens, and then spaced out tables in the street. It is very pleasant.

For the sauces, what is the authentic name for the red hot chili-ish sauce, refreshing mint green sauce, olive oil like herb sauce and a garlic tasting fluffy like cream? Also what’s the sauce in the falafel platter?

Many times.

Do they take reservations?

Yes

Do they still have the chicken shwarma salad on the menu? One of the best salads I've had and they took it out at the Dish Dash Grill in Milpitas.

I am not sure

Is this place halal?

Yes

Are they vegan friendly?

Yes I have found some vegan items on the menu. You can also modify certain veggie dishes that have cheese. Tahini is vegan and falafel and veggie wrap is excellent.

What's up with DishDash, Dish n Dash, Dish N Dash, Dish n' Dash, Dishdash Grill, etc.? Is someone trying to cash in on an established brand name? And if so, who's copying who?

Same owner, different restaurants, full menu vs. fast food vs. limited menu items are served at different locations.

Are Dishdash and Dish n Dash the same restaurant?

No. They have pretty different menus. Dish n Dash is order at the counter and they call you to pick up your food. Basically wraps and salads but the one on North First Street also has plates, beer and wine. No reservations; stand in line, find your…

Do they deliver?

No, they partner with delivery apps like doordash.

How is the shawarma?

Boyfriend had the chicken shawarma and he said it was delicious! The meat was juicy and he enjoyed it a lot.

We looked over our menu and had a hard time pronouncing and figuring out what to eat. Our server was so patient with us and explained the entire menu, also told us that he is Turkish and showed us how to pronounce some of the names and letters After much thought, we ordered the acili muhammara (peppers and walnut dip with pomegranate molasses) , Uc Borek (phyllo rolls with 3 type of fillings), and the adana platter (lamb skewer with sides). The bread basket that came with the pepper and pomegranate molasses dip very good, and it was a great start. The pomegranate gave it a hint of sweetness which balanced the heavier pepper flavor The uc boreks were flaky and crispy, and came out hot af. loved the zucchini and cheese filling! The lamb was full of flavor and came with rice and a Greek salad. That being said, the flatbread had a lot of oil, since the skewer was placed on top. The lamb itself was soft and had no gamey taste. The greek salad complimented and contrasted the heavy and rich tastes. We also ordered the pistachio kunefe and ice cream for dessert. The texture of the kunefe was delicious! I loved the stretchy sweet mozzarella and the crispy crunchy of the toasted phyllo dough. We got a side of mastic ice cream to go with the kunefe. slight licorice and herby taste. It was interesting but still good though Thank you Meyhouse for an awesome intro to Turkish food!

I took no pictures because I was eating in the car and just dove in, but it was well-wrapped for the journey. I was kicking myself after leaving for not remembering to ask for no onion, only to discover that, thankfully, they didn't put raw onion on it! I was delighted, and this may be the best chicken shawarma I've ever had. The meat was flavorful and plentiful for a small order, and to my utter joy there were strips of pickle tucked in with the meat! It was such a delicious mouthful that I was really wishing I'd gotten the full size after all! It's better that I didn't, and now I can't wait to go back again and try more things, like the shawarma fries! Parking can be difficult so be prepared to hunt and maybe walk a bit. Food did take a little bit to come out though, so I'd guess that if it's more crowded, you should be prepared to wait. Parking is a bit of a pain as they only have street parking and there's only enough seating for ~20-ish people at a time. The menu is pretty small, but pricing isn't bad as the wraps are pretty big. I will say everyone who LOVES this place said I missed out by skipping the fries, so that might've been the missing star. Chicken Wrap (Rabieh Style): Wrap was nicely toasted and the chicken is perfectly seasoned with a nice bit of caramelization. The garlic toum is sharp and the cheese added the perfect amount of salt. White sauce with the hot sauce add both creaminess and a bunch, all in all it's a good shawarma wrap. I don't know if I'd travel out of my way to try this, but if I was local, I could see being a regular.
