Ok so where do I begin. My previous cars I used to own where through another place which was still good but there was always a small problem everytime and/or price goes up. Nothing major but still an issue. The other place was ok but does not compare to Discovery Tint. Discovery Tint is a 1on1 experience and he will personally talk to you through everything and have a conversation. I went in and immediately was greeted and went straight into what percent of tint I would like. He had his opinions and answered all my questions. I went with 35% all around (which looks beautiful btw). After it was settled he immediatly told me he was behind and would try his best to finish up. So i went out to eat and when i came back he was just about to pull my car in to work on. While he was working on it, he was very friendly and was able to have a conversation. very laid back but fast worker. i love the tint! the best place to get it done. hands down. read more

Attention to detail. Period. Jesse's work is as good or better than you will find anywhere. His shop uses up-to-date computer cutting software and installation is only done by him and in my opinion he is a master of his trade. I was pleased with his prices. Shop around and you find out for yourself. I read one bad review on Yelp about how he was rude but I don't believe it. I think that bad review was fake and possibly from a competitor. He was very nice and polite. I will do all my tinting business on future cars with him. He recently did my '05 Toyota Matrix and my '94 Toyota 4runner. I couldn't be happier and he stands behind his work and the product. I doubt I will need to return for a problem but if I do I have no doubt he would fix it up without worry. Had my car done about 4 days ago. I am very pleased with the work Jesse did. I got limo tint on the hatchback portion of my veloster and rear passenger windows and 50% on the driver and passenger windows. It turned out phenomenal. It's a great contrast between the tint that actually make the car have a lot of attitude. Jesse actually made the suggestion to use 50% over the 35% because he mentioned to me that I will get pulled over once every 2 months with the 35%. I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado that has been garaged before moving it to California, so my primary reason for window tint is to save on the interior. The second reason being it makes the truck look really classy. I called Discovery Tint prepared to make an apt. for a consultation, but Jesse quoted me right over the phone. His next available apt. coincide with my work schedule so I scheduled for the following day. Jesse personally called me the night before confirming the apt. I arrived 10 minutes early just because that's the way I am!! Jesse immediately addressed me by name and went over the different tint options. He helped me choose the options I was looking for and told me it would take him about 2 hours. Now this part of the review I do not want to effect Jesse in the slightest bit, but if you are female I recommend arranging for someone to pick you up. I went prepared to hang around for the 2 hours, but didn't want to sit in the teenie tiny office. It was 11:00 am and decided to walk over to one of the shopping centers. I was dressed in business casual and hardly look like a thug, but as I was walking along a (twenty something) creeper walking past me came very close and says "where's your dope"? This made me extremely nervous and at that very moment no longer felt safe. I ignored him and kept walking. I crossed the street and high tailed it over to the bowling alley where I begged them to let me stay. I was so freaked out that I called a friend to come pick me up. When I returned at 1:30 pm my truck was in the parking lot and I was instantly thrilled. If you didn't know better you would think that the truck came from the factory like that. Jesse did an AMAZING job and I could not be more satisfied. He charged me exactly what he quoted me, and I feel the price is more than fair. He went over the lifetime warranty with me and explained all the do's and don'ts while the tint cures. I'm so happy I read so many positive yelp reviews because they are all very accurate. Jesse does a great job of building up the driver's (eg. customer's) confidence, so that the driver feels good about tinting his/her windows. Jesse communicates the entire process well so that the driver knows what will happen with the car's windows, and the final result. The entire process is extremely easy, and Jesse guarantees his work. If you don't like the quality, he'll take care of it. And if the driver ever decides to UN-tint the windows, it's also possible to do so. So there's nothing you do to the car's windows that can't be undone. I drive a 2011 Honda Fit, and he quoted me 220 for all the windows + the top of the windshield. This seems to be more than others were charged. Perhaps it's because the Honda fit has so many windows? Anyway, it's still a fair price. You should come here to tint your windows, and go bowling (right in front) during the 2 hour wait. Good times. read more

Thanks Yelpers! I found Jesse here on Yelp! Great service, great work, and great prices! I brought in my brand new 2012 Black vehicle, and Jesse tinted the rear 5 windows. He recommended a 35%, and I went with it. I initially thought I'd go darker (20-25% LTV), but follwed his recco. Glad I did. He said it would look "classier", and he was right! I later had Jesse tint the front windows with a 70%. The stock tint was already a 70%, so it made it just perfect. No too obivious "too dark" fronts. But a very classy look. When I re-visted the dealership afterwards, I happen to park right next to my exact same model year/make car, with a much darker tint. The finance and sales guy I had dealt with just happened to be walking by as I was getting out of my car... I was almost knocked over when they said "your tint has a much classier look", LOL. The front to rear transition is just perfect. He's a cool guy, dependable, and with very reasonable pricing! Give him a try, highly recommended by this Yelper. ETA: Yeah, the location definately contributes to lower overhead. And regarding time management - he was always ready for me when scheduled, and the wait was extremely short. He does have a large flat screen in his waiting room. I went next door to the Mexican store/deli, and had lunch the second time. By the time I finished, he was also finished. I read other reviews before taking my car here and I like what I read. You could probably find a tint place that will charge you $30-50 less but I would rather pay the extra $ to get high quality results! I called up Jesse at his shop because this was the best reviewed tint shop in the area, and he definitely did not disappoint. Yes, the area is a bit sketch and there's a kennel right next door, but who cares. Jesse has been doing this a really long time, he gives the best prices I've ever seen ($70 less than the next cheapest I found) and he gives lifetime warranty on the tint product and the job. the color and darkness is perfect, and Jesse is a perfectionist. he'll take the tint off and start over if its not up to his standard. To top it off, I had just met Jesse, but he couldnt be a more friendly guy. he's honest and doesn't do this to get rich, but just wants to do a good job. Jesse is THE MAAAAAN!!!! I live in Lafayette and work in SF M-F, so I knew trying to get my car done was going to be difficult. I had an audiology appointment in Concord, so I figured I'd try to dovetail getting my windows tinted. As fate would have it, he had a cancellation right when I was free (he's normally booked at least 2 weeks out). He's been in business for over 24 years and is an expert at his craft. I had an idea of what I wanted (staggered percentages) and he gave his input on what would look best based on what I desired. My sole reason for tinting was to cool my car during afternoon drives. I have a white Infinity and I didn't want to go too dark and look like a gangster mobile. Jesse is super personable and really takes the time to connect with his customers. His energy is insane and his excitement and enthusiasm make you feel like you've hit the lotto. I couldn't be happier with the end result, as my car is remarkably cooler and looks amazing. He was quick to point out a small blemish due to sticker residue from the factory, but he assured me that within a week, the blemish *SHOULD* work itself out -- if not, to come back and he'll work his magic. A week later, it was indeed gone, which to be honest, I would've never noticed had he not pointed it out. I guess the only downfall is location. I'd strongly recommend having someone pick you up/drop you back off so you're not stuck at the shop. That said, the small office does have a/c and wifi, so I'd the next best bet is to grab a papusa and horchata at any of the nearby markets and catch up on the latest season of Orange is the New Black.
