My experience with Texas Winos started off on a positive note. In June 2025, I attended one of…read moretheir Wino Fest events in Magnolia and thoroughly enjoyed it. Based on that experience, I booked the Fredericksburg Vintner Winery Tour & Italian Lunch for my birthday in July 2025. Unfortunately, less than an hour before the tour was scheduled to begin, it was canceled. We were notified by email that the scheduled driver had experienced a medical emergency and the backup driver was already assisting with another event. The company apologized and offered to double our winery tour credits, provide free tickets to any 2025 Wino Fest, and allow us to attend a Boat Bash on Lake Travis that same day. While I appreciated the gesture, the Boat Bash offer was impossible to accept. We received the email around 10:00 a.m., and the event began at 11:30 a.m. We were already in Fredericksburg, so there was no realistic way to drive to Lake Travis in time. Although my birthday plans were ruined, I understood that emergencies happen and accepted the four winery tour credits and two Wino Fest tickets for future use. A year later, for my birthday in July 2026, I decided to use my credits to book the same Fredericksburg winery tour. We arrived at the designated meeting location early and waited for the tour to begin. The scheduled start time came and went, but no driver or tour vehicle ever arrived. Even more frustrating, there was no communication whatsoever to let us know there was a delay, cancellation, or any other issue. I immediately called, texted, and emailed the company but did not receive a response for more than an hour. Richard eventually replied by email, stating that the driver had picked up the vehicle on time and that their digital roster showed the other attendees had joined the tour. This only added to my confusion because I had arrived early at the exact meeting location provided in their confirmation link. I even replied with a screenshot from their own link showing where I had been instructed to meet, but I never received another response that day. The following day, I again requested an explanation for what had happened and asked for a refund. I received no response to either request. After two consecutive years of having my birthday plans ruined by this company, I can no longer recommend them. My communications have been with Richard, and based on my experience, I feel I was treated unfairly and ignored when I tried to resolve the situation. I'm sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision before booking and hopefully avoid the disappointment that I experienced.

We followed all of the instructions, including being ready to check in at 10:30 at BBG's. A group of about 10 of us stayed there until 12pm and called it. Absolutely ridiculous. Multiple phone calls to the tour company with no response. I hate to leave bad reviews but this was so disappointing. We really were looking forward to this, and specifically came to Austin for tubing (versus the other idea for a trip we had which was the beach. In hindsight, we should've flown to California instead. No one would be able to forget us that way.) Other companies had their groups successfully picked up and whisked away by their tour vans. (austin detours was one). We flew here and bought a 12 pack for 2 of us and ended up lugging around cans of beer through downtown Austin for no reason. If our trip was a little bit longer this might be less disappointing. However, I couldn't recommend this company. Unless you wanted to wait an hour for zero reason at all. At least if I booked Austin detours I'd be on the river. It just makes me so sad thinking about the multiple groups of us sitting around at that bar waiting for essentially no reason and no communication. Do not. Book. The river raft.

We have learned that taking the VIP bus is more our speed. We can have a drink on the bus and the group is usually pretty cool. They are so organized. We arrive at the pickup spot, check in, have a drink and it's all done seamlessly. Hannah was a great bus host. She's spot on keeping us informed where we are and what to do when we arrive. She goes over rules and policies related to being on the river and trespassing rules. They always do a great job and I'll be doing it again next year.

We found that company as soon as we spoke with Daniel and were quoted by his firm. The Quote: Most companies require you fill out an online form that results in no human interaction and a generic quote that doesn't account for the intricacies of an event like a wedding. With Daniel, he immediately connected with us via email and scheduled time to talk with us via phone so he could understand our vision and detail exactly what was required. When he submitted a formal quote to us, his prices were incredibly fair and aligned with the Austin market. The Wheels: What a home-run. We required 2 56 passenger buses and a 26 passenger executive limo spread out across two days. The vehicles were BEAUTIFUL. Clean, New, Shiny...our guests were very pleased with the transportation which was important as they were traveling about 45minutes to the destination in Dripping Springs. The Service: Each and every single pick-up was early. The drivers were easy to work, super polite and friendly, and assisted in making sure that everyone was accounted for and departure could happen on schedule. Designated contacts were also provided with all the drivers' names and texts were sent confirming the drivers had arrived and were ready for loading. The Bottom Line: Look no further than Krystal Luxuries. Daniel the owner has his head on straight and is focused on making sure transportation isn't something you need to concern yourself with. The tour was about to start, so I ran (yes, ran) through the 90+ degree Texas heat to arrive on time. My guide, David, was incredible, very interesting to listen to, and took us all around Austin. I really felt like I attained a better understanding for the city. He even took our picture at different spots, and the sweet treat was delightful. The only thing I didn't love was that the elder couple on the tour with me rambled about their political leanings, which I didn't agree with at all and I struggled to keep my mouth shut, but David did such a good job of delicately leading them off the topic on multiple occasions. Their tour is super reasonably priced, a value, really. I'd recommend them to anyone visiting Austin for the first time.

Then we hopped on our sprinter van and headed about 40 min outside of town to start our tour at Driftwood Winery. I really enjoyed the wines and we ended up purchasing a bottle to enjoy along the tour. Next, we went to Fall Creek Vineyards. This setting was beautiful, but I didn't love the wines as much. I did love that they had plenty of snacks so you could make your own charcuterie board. Snacks are a must when drinking wine all day. Last, we ended closer to the city in the St. Elmo District at Austin Winery. The tour is about $70 and then you pay for your wines at each stop. I had a fabulous time with our tour guide and tour mates. Would reccomend this if you're looking for a day excursion in Austin.

We booked a full-day wine tour this past weekend for my best friend's Bachelorette Party. We were just a small group but it could not have been more perfect! Mike Lawsage picked us up in a limo and off we went on a day of tastings. We let Mike determine our selection of wineries and we were so glad we did! He did an amazing job--each location had beautiful scenery and wonderful wines. But we all came away feeling like the best part of the tour was Mike himself! He was such a great host and really took care of us. He even brought out his guitar and sang us a few tunes as we were winding down the day. It could not have been a more perfect end to our weekend together. As we were recapping our girls weekend together, every single one of us listed this wine tour as the highlight of the weekend, and that's sayin' something! One of the area wineries recommended Discover Texas Wine Tours and after spending a day with Cathy we completely understand why they were recommended.The door to door service in the beautiful, clean and roomy Mercedes Benz van made travel through the hill country delightful. The attention to detail, from the extra extra long auxiliary cord to play our own music in the van, delicious box lunches and the beautiful pictures that were taken and shared with us at the end of our trip made the whole day one we will never forget. Had a fantastic time celebrating my upcoming retirement with seven of my good friends yesterday. Even though it was Friday, the 13th with drizzly cold rain, our spirits were high as we toured 3 wineries around the Dripping Springs area in comfort & style. Our driver, Waylon was the ultimate gentleman, pretending not to hear our whoops and hollers as we made our stops for wine tasting and the most delicious Italian lunch imaginable. He was ready and waiting to deliver us safely to each stop and allowed us to sip & linger as long as we wanted. We took a private tour today with a Discover Texas Wine Tours. We have been on many wine tours, but knew nothing about Texas wine. From the beginning, setting up our reservation, they were extremely helpful. We let them know our preferences (we prefer red wines) and they tailored the tour to us. Our guide, Bobby, was the perfect mix of professional, informative, funny and friendly. He worked us through four excellent wineries, where each one was better than the last. We had a great time on our full day limo tour with Discover Wine Tours. Kathie set up some great choices for us (Driftwood Estates, Duchman, Salt Lick and Treaty Oak Distillery). Micheal was prompt (early even!) in his pick up of us, friendly, and safe driving. From start to finish everything was efficient, stress-free, and fun. Noel and Kathy did a great job for our 14 person bachelorette party last weekend. They were super easy to work with. They were on time and went above and beyond when a member of our group needed assistance with a pick-up. It's not easy keeping 14 women on track and get us from place to place, but they did. If I had a question or concern he replied in a timely manner. The company was very good about texting updates and sending messages confirming your reservation and everything that you needed to know before hand. Our group had the best time on the boat! We were sad when it ended because we just wanted to keep dancing and partying all day long. It was so much fun to celebrate with other future brides and grooms from all over the country. Everyone was very welcoming! The dj was awesome and so was the photographer. I would love to come back and do this activity again! I would recommend setting up transportation separately to get too and from the lake since we stayed in Austin and it's a 45 min drive. Also, make sure you bring something to eat! We made sandwiches before hand and that helped so much.

I appreciated that they supplied orange juice, raspberries and blue berries for mimosas. A down side was theres little extra space on this boat and is pretty crowded. There isn't a designated spot to put your belongings, so we just had to trust that other people wouldn't mess with our stuff. Overall it was a good experience and I was thankful their onsite photographer capture some fun and goofy moments from our trip.

The morning of, he texted that there might be inclement weather, but said we could still set sail if we were willing. With several out-of-towners here for a special occasion, we asked if it would be safe. He assured us it was our choice, so we confirmed, because we weren't going to let a little rain ruin our parade! On our way to the dock, I got another message from Nico: he would be late and we'd need to either reschedule or get a refund. I asked if another captain was available or we'd be willing to wait for him, but he said they were limited and started giving excuses. He said he'd issue a refund, but never did. It wasn't until I contacted the company directly that the refund was processed. The company apologized on his behalf, and even offered a discount for the next time, but the experience left us frustrated and disappointed. I don't know what their hiring process looks like, but captains should be vetted more carefully!

They were so accommodating from the very beginning. They made great recommendations on where to go and what would work for our group, and were so flexible with the timing of our event. Other places I had called were strict on a time limit: four hours, three wineries...Amber & Amethyst Tours said they would work with us and our schedule...we never felt rushed to move on to the next spot and had time to sit together and enjoy our wine at each spot! Every place we went, they were ready to open the door for us, help my 92 year old grandma get her walker and get to the entrance, and they even labeled and packed all our snacks and wine bottles purchased along the way. Dianna and Lou were so kind and so much fun! I'll be contacting them again!

The bus is decked in twinkly lights and party regalia inside, and the best part? There's a full on three piece band crouched up front, instruments and all! The trio (guitar, drums, bass) regaled us with cover tunes and requests all along the way -- I still don't know how the drummer kept his rhythm on a swaying bus --- and a great time was had by all. Along the way a tour guide named Tex shouted out Austin trivia when the band took breaks, keeping us all engaged. If you're in a group that's visiting from out of town, it's not a bad way to check out Austin.

He's a huge music connoisseur and we heard this art car had a killer system. Not only did the sound blow our mind, but the music they provide is STELLAR! The LED lights, the design will blow your mind, but every person on the street is yelling and cheering when you drive by. haha It's like you're in a parade, but you are the parade! This would be great for any party, bar hopping, driving up for a wedding (forget about a limo! This will make a statement!) or any event that you want to be sure to smile so hard your face hurts after. I'm definitely doing this again! Thank you! WAPPING 5 STARS!
