Lets review Macomb Tilch Road Discount Tire. These places experiences vary from place to place so I usually take this into account. This location has been very good to me each and everytime I have been here. I got cheap tires, probably worth more than the car they are going on. My experience was good. They didn't try to upsell me or try anything funny and I have been happy with what I got here. That is how most of these places work, like Pep Boys who have a nice little corner in Hell waiting for them where they can rot with Comcast, Banks, and Auto Insurance companies. Now, let us talk about why I love this place. (so far) Living here in Michigan, you all know that our roads are by far the worst roads in the world. I have driven crappy roads in horrible places in the world like Mexico and Louisiana and nothing will wear out a car and cause so much tire damage like Hall or Mound Roads. THIS Discount Tire has done well on FREE tire repairs for me. It takes a while to wait but they do good work. I work near Centerline and there's a Discount Tire on Van Dyke. I took a tire that kept losing air there to repair and those clowns told me it was fixed after a wait of more than 2 hours. I kept losing air on it and kept filling it. I took it to this place and my suspicions were correct. Centerline Discount Tire never repaired it. Those idiots said they did. Well, no big deal as it is supposed to be free and it was. Tilch Road Discount Tire went ahead and repaired it and also told me about some issues with the suspension. Point is, that I trust these guys so far and they have done a great job selling and servicing me. The guys have been very good here too at this location, very knowledgeable and very customer service oriented. I've come to this store for years, very convenient, at the time I lived less than a mile from it. This particular time I was bringing my kids vehicle in for a tire rotation, not a big deal, so I thought. A little while later I got a message on my phone that the car was ready for pickup...great. I went there picked the Ol' girl up and went home. The next day my son started complaining about a vibration while he was driving, so I take a look at his tires and realized Discount had snapped off one of his lug bolts. Yep, snapped off a Lug Bolt and didn't even tell me, brought the car back, was not given an apology, but rather told that I stripped the bolt and the wheel had compacted dirt causing the vibration. I was fine with the reasoning behind the vibration, however to blame your customer about damaging his own vehicle I thought was very unprofessional. My response was, good try, but the last hands to touch those nuts were you boys, when I bought the tires less than 6 months ago. So, in conclusion they did send me to another shop to fix their mistake, however my time was waisted and my trust in their workmanship was lost. read more

I previously went to the 23 mile location, across from Walmart and my experience was the worst that I can remember for tires. They are horrible at their jobs and very deceitful. I went to the Tilch and Hall Rd location and it was absolutely the opposite. The gentlemen went above and beyond to give me a good deal and get my the cheapest prices I could get for 3 new tires because the car I just purchased had such bad ones on it. He was so nice and professional. I don't have alot of money right now because of so many expenses and he was just amazing. He was an African American guy and I would highly recommend him although everybody in here seems friendly. I will be back to this location for tires in the future. read more

Hands down the worst location for Discount Tire. Twice now I have had an appointment and had to wait 30 minutes to an hour past my scheduled time. To make matters worse, I was told the last time I was there that I would not be charged anything for swapping over my winter tires. This was false as I was charged $88 to get my car back late and covered in grease all over my dashboard and glove box. I would rather pay more money somewhere else than be lied to, charged for no reason, and get my car back to filthy. Totally unprofessional and I probably will not be using Discount Tire for anything anymore. Update: Filled out the survey I was asked to and no one reached out when they said they would in 2 business days (it's been 4). I seriously would not come to a location in which employees are rummaging through the personal effects of a customer. Had a misfortune of getting a flat tire and getting towed to this place. The TPM (tire pressure monitoring) stopped working after the replacement. 3 visits later, still not fixed, but they tell me it's fixed. If you have TPM, avoid this place at all cost. read more

Today, she took it to Discount Tire where she was told the tire was ruined because she drove on it flat. That did not happen. They told her it could not be fixed, and being an "odd ball" brand the replacement to a non "odd ball" brand would be $300.00, suggesting she should replace all 4 for approximately $800.00. The car has 20,000 miles on it. We then took it to Belle Tire, was told the tire had a small puncture and fixed it. When we picked up the vehicle, Belle Tire said, " no charge, the hole was so small". No mention of, "odd ball or ruined" tire. Have been buying tires from this location for about 10 years and always had good pricing and service. Today my wife took our newer truck in for a flat repair (I put the spare on at home last night), they repaired and reinstalled the flat, reinstalled the spare under the bed, checked and fixed a slow leak on another tire (bad valve stem), and did a tire rotation. The surprising part was that all of this was free. This is a used truck that we've only had for about 4 months but they treated it as one of our other vehicles that has tires on that we purchased from them. Also, she was in and out in about an hour. The person at the counter (Clay) took the tire, went into the shop, diagnosed the issue (leaking valve stem), replaced the valve stem, and brought it back fixed. Awesome service! My boyfriend and I came here for a slow leak in one of his tires. We were greeted as soon as we got out of the car and they were able to diagnose the problem immediately. We took care of some computer work and we were handed bottled water while we waited. They also have free coffee too. Before we left the desk, our car was already in the shop. Before we knew it (maybe 10 minutes) Matt came out to tell us we had a baby nail in the tire. He fixed the issue and checked all the tire pressures. I had a slow leak in one of my tires. They were quite busy when I got there and they told me it would be about 45 minutes so I decided to wait. They found a nail in the tire, repaired it and also did a tire rotation, all free of charge. It took exactly 45 minutes as they said and I was on my way once again. The service I received was excellent and everyone there was friendly and helpful. I had 45 minutes to sit there and watch, listen and observe and I was very impressed by the service they give to their customers. I was highly satisfied with my experience and they have a customer for life. Now if they only had free self service air like other places have... It would make their customers super happy!!! I know you can go there anytime and they will put air in your tires for free. But I would like it if it was self-service instead. Several months ago I got a nail in my tire and could hear the air escaping. I have purchased tires from "the other tire store next door" for close to 20 years so I drove there to have them fix it. I explained to "that other tire store" that my tire had a nail and it would be flat soon. It was a 1/2 hour before they closed on a Saturday and they told me they were to busy and couldn't fix it until Monday. So I drove next door to discount tire . They were just as busy and also about to close but said, without hesitation, they would fix it. They stayed after hours to fix my tire, at no charge, even though I hadn't bought tires from them in years. I just purchased a set of BFG KO2's (expensive tires) from discount tire and they did a GREAT job at the absolute best price! I am now a discount tire customer. read more

They took the nail out the tire went flat and then said they wouldn't plug it because there's already another plug in the tire and said can't have two plugs for safety reasons. Which later found out that's not true or accurate. Had to pay for a new tire and that wasn't the same as the other tires because it wasn't it stock. They flattened the tire and then wouldn't plug it, therefore forced us to buy a new tire that wasn't even the right tire! read more

Had previously came here in February because I had a flat tire, they scared me into getting 2 new tires which I did do because of their intimations tactics. They also tried to scare me saying I needed 2 more which I declined as I could not afford it at the time. I knew one of my tires was over the 50,000 mile mark so I made an appointment online. I went to discount tire on Hall road and Tilch to get a valve stem replaced under warranty. Jimmy ( The Scammer ) greeted me and told me to drop it off and he will call me when done. He called me next morning and tells me that the tire needs to be replaced because it had a puncture repaired before and he will not mount the tire back on the wheel. Advised me to buy a new tire... The tire I dropped off has 90% thread left and holds air perfectly fine. As you can imagine I was furious and was not about to buy another tire from them. I went couple buildings down Hall road to Belle Tire and had them look at the tire. They said the tire is perfectly fine and they would mount and balance it for me. My daughter has had two bad experiences here. This week, she had a piece of metal in her tire and a leak, so she went to get her tire fixed at the nearest location. It was extremely bad luck that she ended up at this store and had to deal with Ryan. Once they had the tire off, they pressured her into buying a whole new tire! She was talked down to and intimidated into making an unnecessary tire purchase. She asked to have the piece of metal from the tire, and last night she showed it to her dad and I. It's about the size of a good-sized nail...very difficult to believe they couldn't fix the hole! College girls--stay away from this store! I never give bad reviews - I'm not one to trash people or places, however, this is one time worth my only not so good review. I was a regular customer up until recently. Look i understand they are hired to upsell people on tires and services, I have been in the used car sales industry for 29 years, I know about sales and upselling and the tactics used to do so. I explained to them I am very familiar with vehicles including tires, but being before the holiday and it's the weekend, we were closed so I took my daughter's car up there early Saturday morning to see if they can see the cause of the slow air loss. I also asked for a tire rotation. I told the guy at the counter (Not saying any names) to inspect it for either a rim leak or it needing a plug. Tire tread wasn't in bad condition (Gaged out) no sidewall puncture so I know it was repairable. I sat there almost 2 hours for them to say it's not repairable due to interior tire damage. LMAO that's a first, when I asked for him to please explain he hesitated and replied about how an ATV/ tractor plug was used prior and car tires don't get plugged, and he can't rotate the tires because they weren't tires you could. Hahaha I'm sorry I couldn't help but chuckle, it's tires on a Chevy Cruze. Making a long story short. They never pulled the tire and inspected it. I then got a call from my daughter later in the week that her tire was losing air. I told her to go there into the air check line. Then they pressured her with scare tactics and she called me crying and didn't have any money on her. Then I dropped my customers from work and started to head down there and someone there and don't know who but took his initiative to pull it off and check it out and... It needed a basic plug and there was no other plug or tractor/ATV plug in the tire. LMAO thanks to the one guy who actually took his time to fix it where the other guy never made an effort. Came in to get a tire patched. This is typically a free endeavor, but after explaining what I wanted, it was out to inspect every tire I had including current wear and car mileage. I found that upsell method interesting in being totally through and yet infuriating in that I did not ask. In their defense, while I've been waiting for my, "we patched your tire, but you need to spend some money on some things," speech, two more "tire patches" have come in.
