I went to Tuffy today on 31 Mile Rd to get my snow tires changed out for my regular tires. I made sure to explain my situation when I called today before coming by in person a few minutes later. When I arrived in person I made sure to explain to the front desk again that I was changing out my snow tires for my regular tires. I had my regular tires stored in plastic bags in the back of my suv. After the service was performed, I picked up my vehicle and arrived home, but then I realized that Tuffy did not return my snow tires to me. I called and explained the situation and the guy told me that i could come back to pick them up. When I arrived I found my snow tires sitting in a pile outside mixed in with other tires in the pouring rain. The service worker must not have known that those were my snow tires and I expected to have them returned to me. I wasn't intending to throw them out. The guy in the office should have let the service tech person know that they were just changing out my snow tires and that I expected them to return my snow tires once the service was completed. People sometimes make mistakes, so when that happens you need to swallow your pride and apologize for inconveniencing me and causing me to waste my time, but no apology was offered to me. You should also offer a discount to your customer when you make a mistake, but I was offered no discount. In fact I was charged $179 by Tuffy for changing out my tires, when I usually only pay $100 at Les Schwab Tires in my previous state of Idaho for performing this service, so I was overcharged by you guys by 79%. Also when you change out tires, its usually customary to place the customers snow tires in plastic bags to protect the interior of the customer's car from dirt and water, but you guys didn't do that. Now I have a bunch of dirty soaking wet snow tires sitting in my car, because it was raining heavily today and Tuffy had my snow tires sitting outside in the rain mixed in with other people's tires. Based off this experience I'm not going to give you my business again and I will no longer recommend your business to others. read more

Don't expect a front end alignment if you like to otherwise perform your own service work. Was refused an alignment today after replacing my control arms and tie rod ends on a Chevy Malibu with high quality parts to manufacturer specifications. I guess they want to do the whole job or nothing at all. I'm surprised that a previously highly regarded business would refuse to work and partner with skilled garage mechanics. Super disappointed. I needed a tire patched. I left my wheel and tire on a Friday morning, told them no rush, later that day, or even Monday would be fine. I was told they would call when done. Friday went, and so did Monday, no call. I stopped by the following Friday. They told me my tire was done but that they lost my number. No problem, except my number was still on a tag, attached to the tire. 3 weeks laterI had another flat tire on the same wheel. I took it to USA Tire in Utica, where I normally get all my tires. I told Dan that the tire was previously patched but now leaking. Dan fixed my tire, and relayed to me that there was in fact no PATCH in the tire. So it seems Nightingale charged me $25 for a tire PLUG, that i could have done myself for $1 if that's how i wanted my tire fixed. I I'm very disappointed, i was hoping for a reliable, local repair shop in Romeo. This is not it. read more

Took my daughters car in to get the brakes checked, oil change and tire rotation. She has a Jeep, which are known for swollen lug nuts. ( it is a thing) I did purchase 10, hoping it was enough. It wasn't, they were able to get us back on the road, but they went above and beyond to locate 20 from one of there suppliers for a great price that will not have this problem again. Let us know when we are in the area, to come back anytime and they will put the good ones on! I have definitely found a new place to bring my cars for service! Had a slightly dented rim that caused seal to leak on a 2020 Chevy truck. Told me I needed a new tire(7000 miles on the current one) and a new rim. Called and said they found a new steal rim for $1300 ($250 on Amazon for same one). Asked them to remove tire from rim and I'll go take the rim to get fixed. Once I did that they said they would do it first thing the next morning. They didn't do a thing so I picked up truck the next afternoon. Took tire and rim to Ricks tire in Shelby and the had it back to me in less than 2 hours. Fixed dent and put original tire back on for $35. read more

New ownership pricing is extremely high on both parts and service. You can't triple the cost of parts that anyone off the street can buy at your local auto one for less. All a customer asks is for fair and reasonable repair cost. Highly skilled mechanics but high cost of repair which one might as well go to official dealer. read more

I cant possibly say enough great things about this place but I'll give it a shot. I brought in my mom's 2006 because it was leaking fuel after an investigation they confirmed that as well as her hub assembly was on its last legs. They quoted me a price which was fair and after they fixed it, it actually costed less then their original quote. They are the epitome of fair and reasonable. I'll never go to another mechanic shop ever again. read more

After using this establishment for 30 plus years to get treated like we were recently was extremely discouraging. A 6 month layoff due to the pandemic left us struggling a bit. Had to leave a couple vehicles there longer than we expected. I fully understand some angst on their part but the rude treatment was uncalled for.
